Two night ago, the last two things I did before I logged out were 1) run AK for the first time to unlock the last level of GC equipment, and 2) buy the lvl 50 GC bow (7000 seals) to get ready for farming tomes and HM Primals and such.
Last night I only had an hour or so to play, so I queued up Ifrit HM (to be my second time fighting him ever) and started chopping down trees while I waited. Ifrit came up, I hopped in, we wiped once, beat him on the second try, and Ifrit's Bow dropped. There was another Bard, but I won the roll and got the bow!
So...on one hand, I spent 7000 GC seals for a bow I used for...about 5 minutes.
But on the other, more awesome hand, Ifrit's Bow!
I did this with a whole set of armor, I got to use the GC stuff for a matter of hours. Unluckily, though, I seem to get stuck with the GC weapon for some time.
Ruin 2 is for application of blind if you don't have a reliable way to do it (Paladin tanking a single add and doesn't flash, warrior tank, etc) or if you're moving and cannot stand still for the cast time of ruin 1, or if you need to weave stuff into GCD. If you cast ruin the cast timer can make it harder to put longer animation off GCD abilities in before your GCD is done and can be a slight hit to your dps. If you have to apply something off GCD you can do a Ruin 2 instead which gives you much longer of a window to cast some off GCD stuff then back to ruin 1. You dont want to spam ruin 2 as that can kill your mana.

Woo. Level 38.5. I kinda want to log out at Garuda but that seems to be eternally far away. I just got to the 3rd town in the Observatorium area.
Holy FUCK just give me the goddamned Airship already. I want to murder each and every single one of these stupid assholes and I'm supposed to be the GOOD GUY. If this were a sandbox game I'd spell out amusing curse-words with their desiccated bodies. 12 almighty just END ALREADY.
I've had to fate grind half a level for the past ~3 levels. The XP -- or sidequests -- really start to peter out in the late 30s. Hell, I've even done all my Hunting Logs -- on accident.
And even though I've went from 34 - 38.5 in this ... 12 hour marathon, I still haven't ran out of rest XP. Or even come close.
I've actually been using Scholar during the fate grinds. Given there's 0 chance to get a Bio off on most things given how shitty the targeting filter is, well, it's a bit easier to just either spam AOE heals or heal the target of a target.
I do have 100 Allowances, maybe I should start spamming the Leves of the Observatorium instead of Fate farming -- I'm literally wasting them right now otherwise. Or maybe doing Maelstrom Leves instead would be wiser?
I also have Cutter's Cry, as well as Sunken Temple unlocked, and haven't done either. Maybe it's time to start learning how to heal as a Scholar. Any tricks to those / any reason to do them as a caster?
I would run around as an arcanist and slot flash. Flash is amazing for fates and guarantees you a gold on anything that isn't a collection (but those are easy) or a single target burn fight.
Partying up for fates will also bump up your exp considerably and helps pass the time, so, unless you're queued in the duty finder and just fate grinding while waiting, get into a party.

So, HM Titan. With really good healers, I can now officially tank the encounter, so, there's that.
150 philosophies away from relic weapon/shield. So excited.

I ran AK with a pug last night and the healer was wicked. Apparently repose has an INSANE long range. He pulled both of the balcony roaming dullahans and the last succubus group at the first corner. Was a pretty neat trick. Also, Wall in sword oath. The extra damage helps a bunch and aggro isn't really an issue till the bees pop. Blow cooldowns...profit.
12-15 Titan tries later and only one of those made it past the heart stage, to then get immediately stomped into oblivion.
I already figured this before I began, but- I may have to call on the power of the FC to finish this Relic jigger.
Yeah the FC can get you through in 1 or 2 tries, we've got Titan down pretty well at this point
I was planning on FCing it the whole time, but I kind of wanted to DF it at least a bit to get an idea of how the third stage works (the one everyone says is actually the hard part) so I could at least pull my own weight and not scrub it up. Unfortunately, this simple goal seems to be impossible though. I've read the order of attacks used and such, but that only does so much for me. I'm more of a hands on learner.
I'm reading that lots of legit players got hit with tempbans and/or massive gil deletions over the last week because of goldsellers.
now I'm no fan of AH barons, but it's a pretty fucked up situation if the reports are accurate
Ugh not looking forward to running Brayflox for the first time this weekend. I've researched the boss fights and all, but to hear the wailing in other corners of the internet, it sounds like a pain for PUGs. Maybe I'll make sure my gear is polished off before tanking.
I find brayflox to be a nice easy dungeon, I'd call cutter's cry more of a bane for PUG groups. I didn't like it and I went in with a 3 person static group - never went back after the clear

It's not nearly as bad as the next one for pugging. You have much more control of the outcome as a tank in Braylox than ST.
Also, I love that as a WHM I can sleep as many targets as I want. My tank started my first Stone Vigil run ever last night with a warning of "prepare to spam heal me, this trash hits like a truck" and one pull later was just shocked at my pro CC 8-)
Focusing my final sleep target and refreshing sleep just as it wears off is weirdly satisfying. I also love the Cleric Stance dance.

People who had over 8million Gil got hit with a 72 hour temp ban a few days ago (not all mind you just a lot of them) while they were investigated for RMT. Haven't heard anything about Gil deletions on legit players though.

I'm only seeing reaction threads on Reddit, but it looks like if you sold items at massively inflated prices (regardless if it was the "market price") that were then bought by RMT accounts, you lost some or all of that money.

Which makes some amount of sense. That giant amount of RMT-generated gil needs to be removed from the economy.
I just hope the changes didn't hit people who did legitimate business.

Yeah I've seen those ones, but despite the reaction a lot of those people are saying that they are still doing that and have recouped a lot of their losses so...I don't know what to think about that. I didn't see specifics on what they were selling at inflated prices though or why RMT's would want to buy them.

All I know is that I have over 40 names in my blist, and I have filed the tickets on all of them and none of them seem to have been deleted.

This.
Obviously, there's a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth to the contrary, but it looks like SE has the tools to track identified RMT accounts, and then collapse the entire web. People who sold items at crazy high prices got snared in the RMT web (likely by selling to someone who purchased gil), thus having their gil/100.
And apparently the amount of illegal gil seized was like 376 BILLION...billion...which was collected through unpublished exploits.
All I know is that I have over 40 names in my blist, and I have filed the tickets on all of them and none of them seem to have been deleted.
I know I have @ 60 who have sent tells to me that are still around. In fact, since early access, only two of the people on my blacklist have been deleted.
Edit: In fact, if Square-Enix wants to break down, they should walk over to the Gates of the Sultana in front of Ul'Dah and watch all the teleporting mining bots that are jumping from copper ore to copper ore.

This is what really blows my mind about the whole thing - it's not even remotely subtle what these people are doing. I don't see what's so difficult about banning these accounts.
This is the only downside of SCH healing for me so far. I can't sleep the adds for stupid parties like I can on WHM. On the bright side, the faerie helps me heal through their stupidity.
Sorry if this has already been asked but are the Relic weapons the best? If I do this quest (and most likely just buy the materia enhanced bow, there's a few available for around 85000) am I going to end up replacing it in a few days because one of the HM Primals drops a better bow?
Relic weapons are far superior to Primal HM weapons. The Relic +1 (upgraded version via myth tomes) is as good as the weapon drops in Turn 5 of Bahamut's Coil.
Raid Group 3 (Currently known as The Fightin' Dragoons and or 2dragoons1AE) has downed the First Turn of Bahamut's Coil. Ended up with Monk Pants and Dragoon Belt. We're going to try to get some more attempts in during the weekend, but plan on restart on monday.
So yay team. We finally downed the boss. Got a strategy that worked for our mad dps and ran with it.

I'm not sure I really enjoy tanking. Bosses are great, but I fucking hate trash so much, I can't stand to run something like AK more than once a day I understand why they got rid of speed runs, but there's just SO MUCH
I don't mind AK as a healer because I just kind of zone out. Every once in a while I'll come back and dps, especially on bosses, but most of the time the fairy handles everything!
Raid group 1 (currently known as '7 man raid') got to turn 4 tonight. We gave it a quick go and plan to go back to it tomorrow. We're not sure we're geared for it, but who cares lets give it a go!
So... twice I've gotten into Haukke Manor and after killing the second boss, the game has crashed. Then when loading the game back up, Sargantas seems to be down.

Me too! Let's do it! I punch things. That's about it so far
Edit: Oh, I get it, Ruin 2 is for adds -- it blinds targets, putting them out of the fight.
Same damage but higher mana cost IIRC, just adds the blind. But it's also instant, so you can cast while moving.
blind doesn't take a mob out the fight, it just reduces accuracy a little bit.
I just straight up replace ruin I with II, as II is an instant cast and thus is much easier to use.
Also, if anyone wants to run Brayflox, Sunken Temple, or Cutter's Cry, I get home about 3:15 Central time, and would love to chain a few of them.
