Wish I had thought about that. Oh well cancel fee is one night stay and that's ~200 dollars. Not really worth it in the end to cancel and get one of the onPeak hotels.
Actually, there is no charge at all as long as you cancel by April 10th.
For those worried about not getting a hotel at all (the three nearby ones aside) - chill. There will still be rooms available. The number of people who attend PAX East every year does not increase as much as its popularity, as they can only sell so many badges. Badges may be more difficult to get, and the nearby hotels as well, but not rooms in general. If you look at the mobile link above, there are still 19 hotels available to choose from. Last year, I remember many of the hotels, and many on the shuttle routes, being available weeks after badges went on sale. So if you're not picky about where you're staying, but you still need somewhere to stay, I would recommend letting things settle down for a couple hours, then checking again with OnPeak.
Did anyone else order by phone? I did not receive my email conformation for my hotel yet
I am also waiting for a confirmation email. I booked at the Westin. I am very nervous that I won't get a confirmation email and they won't honor my reservation. I keep trying to call and all I get is a busy signal. Those who are waiting for confirmation: did you put in your credit card info and everything?
What's going to be the best way to get from the Hyatt Boston Harbor to the convention center?
I would check the PAX shuttle route when it comes out in a few months. Normally they are really good about driving busses around all day to pick people up and take them to the convention center so you don't have to pay for taxi or bus.

Yes I did. Now I might cancel my Park Plaza hotel and try to reserve two rooms instead. I was trying to do 5 people with potential 6. I only got to reserve one room for about 270 a night. What hotels do people recommend that are available still? I am looking at park plaza and double tree. Anything else within a mile? Seaport was great 2 years ago so I want my experience as close as that
I'm just so mad, I was done, I was at the last step, and they just pulled everything down. If I'm 4 miles away this is probably it for PAX east and me, I don't need to commute to a vacation.
Anyone having problems plugging in credit card info for the new link? Specifically, the expiration date? I keep putting in "12" as the month and it says that number is invalid.

Most hotels you only pay the cancel rate if you cancel inside of 72 hours from your arrival date.
Unless you specifically took the "non-refundable" rate, that is.
Sorry for the spam, but can someone explain the Double Occupancy 2 Beds and Quad Occupancy 2 Beds? I am trying to get 5-6 people. Would it be better to do two rooms with double occupancy 2 beds? or the quad occupancy 2 beds with a single room?

Managed to get a room at the Omni, but I really need a double. Here's to hoping something opens up soon... Cancellations are likely because of the unusually quick selling out of the 3-day passes. (right...?)
Everyone, use this link! It works like a freaking charm.
Sure... if you live in the states. I keep getting an error telling me my postal code is wrong when i clearly know it isnt.
I gave it a fake zip code and when I got to entering payment it happily accepted a postal code then. Once the website it working properly I'll log back in and fix my address. Hopefully.

I'm going to explain, and then offer what is not an uncommon practice:
Double occupancy, 2 beds means 2 people staying in a room with 2 beds. 2 total guests.
Quad occupancy, 2 beds means 4 people staying in a room with 2 beds. 4 total guests.
Now, while the hotel would LIKE you to book Quad occupancy in that room, lots of people do not. They book Double Occupancy, 2 beds...take their 2 room keys, and get 4+ people in the room.
The hotel COULD charge you for the extra guests, and if you're a real nuisance they COULD ask you to leave. But, most of the time, and for most people...they don't.
If you do that, be considerate, don't trash your room, and try not to rub the hotel's nose in what you're doing. But, generally, they know what's going on and turn as much of a blind eye to it as they possibly can.
Anyone been to the Hyatt Regency? Is there an easy way to cross the river?
The shuttle comes right to the front door. It's a great place to stay, really. I was aiming for closer this year, but more than happy with the Hyatt as a "consolation."

Thank you! I will try to book these two rooms and cancel my last reservation. Better to be comfortable
You can also click for the full site from this link, which worked from me. I was able to log in and view my reservations this way. Assume you could also do group reservations and all that too.

Just checked via mobile and saw only 1 room listed, so it seems to have been a glitch.
Attended: East 14, 15 and West 16

Got my room at the Omni Parker.

That's the one RIGHT by the airport, right? Harborside?
Couple options: The "T" (bus line) from the airport. There's a stop not a far walk from Hyatt Harborside.
The boat launch that's right behind the hotel (assuming the weather is nice).

Thank you so much for that link!
I was able to snag a room at the Hilton Boston Downtown. This is my first PAX East, has anyone here stayed there before? What was it like?
I think it was:
$189 for singles and doubles,
$245 for Quads

Saw it on mobile during the glitch ... $189 basic double occupancy, $245 quad occupancy
