For some reason it keeps defaulting to my external drive for installation. If it does that just make a games folder on your main drive and copy the Amulets and Armor folder over.

What is it?
Amulets and armor is a fantasy RPG that plays in the first person. It was made in the 90's with a very small team with no publisher. Only a few hundred copies where made before the team dispersed. That is until last year where an LP on another forum was going on and one of them contacted the lead developer. After seeing so much interest being generated in it, the lead developer got with the rights holder and after some talks they released it for free and he is currently updating it to work better with modern machines. He also just released a version so it will save your game after you rest in an Inn, which it did in the original game and most people don't want to play for 3 hours to save so it's a good thing.

How does it play?
It plays in first person, if you choose the windows download you can choose between older configuration where you hold ALT to strafe, a/d to turn and the mouse cursor to interact with objects. Or Push tab for modern mouselook and E for interacting. Spells or done by putting in the correct runes with the number pad and pushing number pad enter( or second mouse if your using mouse look). You will also have food and water levels, but they just determine how fast you regenerate, food for health water for mana. Of course you will also get better loot such as armor, weapons, and runes for more powerful spells. If you do die you will loose your current money, all your equipment will drop on the ground and you will be teleported back to the start. Which isn't so bad when you're running up to the first boss for the tenth time because you died of poison.

Also you can have up to I think 6 player co-op. Experience only counts on hits so if someone runs up and gets the last hit on a guy you will still get the majority of experience.

Here are some tips for starting out. Drink every potion to see what it is. The time of day will only matter for a side event but it isn't worth the time to find it. Don't be afraid to run up and punch some druids in the face. Every time you're hit by a acid wizard you will hate it. It's free give it a try.
