Supposedly there is a patch coming tomorrow. What I did to get it to work on the 360 was to clear the system cache, delete the not working character, and then redo, suddenly it worked.

it really seems to be hit or miss. The people that can, can play consistently and without any trouble. But those who can't, all share the same issues. Here's hoping the update that's rolling out will get more WANG on the web.

Wow I didn't even notice that. See I make my characters dark because I myself am quite dark. Not of hispanic descent (I don't think), but still, I like to make my characters look like me. Unfortunately, I couldn't make him uber fat.
I hope this next patch includes something to keep our characters saved. I'd hate to start from Level 1 again, after my next attempt.
it sounds like this issue is caused by creating a "temp" character when the cloud was down and couldn't access your original characters. I would have saved it in a seperate slot, but then again it'd be nice if the game just *worked*.
I've been in free roam with my friend for over an hour but we can't launch any missions because of the same error. so we just keep robbing stores...

I've got a baby face so I can never make myself. (True story: I got carded buying this game. I laughed, looked the cashier in the eye and said "I'm 32" and he immediately put the sale through. But yeah, baby face.)
So I make whatever I think looks decent or whatever appeals to me at the time.
Now that I know there's a title update coming through and these problems aren't going to be fixed just with adding new servers or whatever behind the scenes I'll just wait for tomorrow.

Btw I have figured out how to get your driving bar at 50% from the start.
Minimise sleep. Max couch and illegal.
I don't care about the scars or whatever. Adds character.
I don't know if it's the different cars but driving physics feels a bit different from single player. There's less glue on the tires? You can power slide pretty easily.

If you want to change your Freemode Chat Settings, hold Back (or Select?). Scroll to the bottom, and you should be able to set Chat to Everyone, Crew, Friends, Crew + Friends, or No-one. This is going to solve so many problems. You can also use the Inventory option to set the helmet you wear when using a bike, or equip masks / hats. Seems handy. Oh, and you can choose what Body Armor appearance you have, including None.

If you choose to join friend games from single player, for some reason it lets you edit your character.
