Hey fellows, could I make a request? I had a very disheartening session last night, got super frustrated and baw baw baw. Any chance I could get 3 Wangers in a session tonight to do Rally races at the prison? I wanna knock that dumb "rally co-driver" trophy out, and I spent 30 attempts last night ending up as the driver despite my preferences saying otherwise.

For anyone complaining about other players ruining your fun - when you launch the game, you find yourself in single player. Press Start. Go to the Online Tab. Go to Start GTA Online. Select Invite only session; alternatively select crew session. Ta-dah, your own online world to roam in without fear of hassle. When you do a mission, race etc, you will be dumped back into the same private session. I used this to roam yesterday and play around with bikes, finding jumps etc.

If you want to rank up, the best way I've found is racing Criminal Records -

Each race is about 20% of a level; gains are percentage based against your level, not a simple static number. There's some wonky numbers here, I haven't cared enough to figure out what's going on. At the end of lap two and three you tend to get a big burst of RP, possibly for a clean lap + beating previous lap time.

    Race Type - Standard
    Laps - 3
Class - Whatever you want - bikes are the fastest and easiest and will unlock mods for all vehicle types.
    Traffic - On
    Wanted Levels - On
    Custom Vehicles - On
    Catchup - Off
    Split Times - Personal

Trading wins will also open up vehicle upgrades for everyone. You basically need 50 wins as far as I know for all possible upgrades that aren't rank based. I think 42 wins is level 4 engine, 50 is chrome as a respray and looks terrible, and you should feel bad if you drive around in an all chrome vehicle, because you are bad and have bad taste.

If you want to unlock the 50 jumps thing, there's a race called Underground something or other with a jump that will count as a unique each time you do it. I've heard some guys grind that race on a bike for RP, but others just do the jump and loop back 49 times to get the achievement. I haven't tried it myself. I have found that in game, I've gotten 'credit' for doing the same jump over and over, as in, hit the jump and then hit it again later in the day. I haven't bothered to loop back and just hit it again.

Once you hit 50, you'll get much more interesting missions that require 2 to 6 characters to play - I've seen a couple 4 to 6s offered, with Martin and Lester will offer some nice multi stage missions like Los Santos Connection. We've gotten some good 'two snipers provide cover while third guy steals item from massive criminal deal' missions. I wouldn't suggest leveling to 120 or anything, I've certainly seen a number of posts on GTAForums and GameFAQs with people realizing the fun is in the journey, not the destination. For me I unlocked all the vehicle mods and once my friends caught up with me we started to run real missions offered by NPCs rather than just race or DM etc. Stealing hookers from the Lost is a lot more fun than just parachuting in my book. I kind of want to race to 80 now because of the sexy M249 SAW it opens up, but at the moment I'm content to do it slowly via missions.

Has it been determined whether or not you can actually pick up more than $100 from another player's body? I know you lose money if you are carrying over $5K but does that money actually get dropped or does it just vanish?

I do like the bike races more than car races. Mostly because car races seem to consist of people just using fastest car and wipes and stuff can swing a bike race more.

My problem with open races is that people do things like 10 laps on super long tracks which means 70% of the racers just disconnect; also the annoying crashing.

I usually get started around 2200 GMT, 7 hours from now. Heads up though I was having serious trouble actually getting assigned to be co-driver, I think there's some heavy bias to making the host play as driver. Plus ya need 4 people minimum, it needs to be an actual race, not just the 2 people alone. Criminal Records should make it fairly easy though, if we can get a decent session going. ;D

I wish they would fix that motorcycle glitch. Admittedly I made some money from it, but now it seems like everyone is becoming multi millionaires and don't even care about the money because of it.

Case in point; I wanted to do some missions with a few friends and wanted to do the harder ones that pay better, but because they glitches themselves into having 20 million each, they didn't care about the $, just the RP.

Yeah, and a lot of the race paths are thin roads, too. I do my best to not hit anyone, but it happens. NPC movements are predictable. I cannot predict how spastic players will be. Plus, nudging someone has just as high of a chance as ending terribly for me instead of them.

Seems as we're levelling up the tracks can be a lot tighter and trickier. I do try and race cleanly as a rule, but was a bit of a terror on the tarmac yesterday. In my defence (in one case at least) I was expecting to be rammed into the water barrels at the entrance to the freeway, thus pushed back against @breton-brawler (I think?). Who knew the side of the road would make such a good ramp...

Yes, I'm just missing Flying and Lung capacity. Strength I played about 30 rounds of Golf. Golf is no cash, but good RP if you can birdie most of the holes. By the end, I was running -8 on 9 holes and it was fairly fast. Jag and Tia were telling me it's 15 minutes if you do a private session or an untimed mission and one person gets into their car and the other person just kicks their car. Strength supposedly makes you take less damage, I haven't noticed. There's no visual indicator either, which is sort of a drag. I wanted to be ripped.

Lung capacity I've heard is best done by taking car, driving it into the surf where waves will lap up over the vehicle - your breath meter will pop up and go away with each wave, and your rating will slowly max out.

For the people that the game is waning on, I'd agree. You farm to get nice things, but once you have those nice things they aren't so nice anymore and you have nothing to work towards. hearing I would get 500k made me not want to play, because they were going to hand me all the cars I wanted with that. You definitely have to make your own fun with the game.

I think heists will fix most of the issues, with multiple requirements and long planning(I hope). Other features planned for crews sound pretty awesome as well.

I find myself farming the prison race for money, and now I see that motocycle exploit... I am fairly tempted to jump on that so I can get a base of cars going to start upgrading for races.

There's an exploit in the game that allows you to duplicate and sell any vehicle in a shop, for more than the 50k. If you see somebody's pie chart and it looks like this:

    AtUetIh.png

It's highly likely that they are abusing the exploit. Rockstar is looking to get users that exploited this banned from the game and at the very least, Live.

The car sales thing has resulted in bans; Rockstar has (supposedly) discussed whether the ban should extend beyond the game into the console service itself. (PSN/Live) This is all via forum posts, so who knows. I've not really felt the need for cash to be honest. I mean, I could buy high end cars, I guess. I could just knock out some missions for those though, most missions are now 20 - 25k each I find and that's the part of the game that I really enjoy. The amount of cash I make screwing around is more than enough to pay for guns, addons and adjusting cars.

If you're doing crates, I highly suggest getting a helicopter. I can almost always get to the crate before the NPCs spawn that will fight for the crate, nevermind players.

I did briefly consider killing someone in WANG the other night for pinching a crate seconds before I got there even though they likely had no idea I was going for it. I absolutely kill random people who beat me to crates. One put a 5k bounty on me, thanks for the 5k dude! Just because I killed him three or four times and shot out all his tires. He never should have touched my crate.

    Reposting this from yesterday:
Two friends of mine were banned earlier today and Rockstar Support Manager basically explained over the phone (more summarized, not word-to-word): "We're aware of the issue and until we can fix it, we'll ban anyone with a history of abusing this design flaw. It will ruin others' enjoyment by disbalancing the economy that's vital to the Online experience. We're in discussion with Microsoft, too, to escalate these bans from online privileges to user accounts as a statement against these antics. We don't expect any outrage from the law-abiding playerbase who haven't devalued others' items and hard-work with an exploit - these the customers we are proud to help."
