RIP Tom Clancy

Author of military-themed novels and Red Storm Entertainment cofounder dies in Baltimore hospital - Gamespot.

I never saw this coming, I've played Tom Clancy games since the original Rainbow Six games. It will be hard to picture life without him and the pieces of art he made. RIP Tom.

    I was waiting for someone to post this. It's a sad day for gamers and fans of military thrillers alike. Rainbow Six was the first serious novel that I read as a child and, along with Jurassic Park, sparked my love for writing. He will be missed.

    His works were hit and miss for me, but the Rainbow Six series will always hold a special little place in my heart as the first game series I ever played with voice chat. And I almost never had a bad experience.


    Remember the old Rainbow Six games? The games that actually tried to simulate walking around as armed special forces in a highly dangerous, unpredictable environment? I can't think of too many games that have successfully aped that gameplay, and I sort-of miss it.
