I'm not trying to prevent it, its just that I feel it should only be used as a last resort, which is why I am now waiting on the Matsu's reply. If the Matsu can't direct us to a Shugenja, we'll have to kill it with fire.

Well, to be honest, I was thinking "We tear down the buildings around the tainted area to create a fire break, wet them down, and then use torches to set the wooden and paper house filled with blood on fire" not "The Tattooed Monk should totally set his fist on fire and punch the building until its dead."

Arc, please give me a temptation/awareness roll at TN 15. If you don't have temptation, then you can try a courtier/awareness at TN 20. You'll get a couple of pieces of information on Gozu's patrons if you succeed, raises will allow you to get more info up to two more raises (so +10 to the TN in that case).
Each piece of info will cost a Koku (this is a fast, direct way of getting the goods, after all). If you fail, then you can still get the info, but it will cost you double!
Remember, you can spend Void Points to add +1k1 to your roll. If you don't have a skill then instead you can spend a Void point to get 1 rank in that skill.
Once you roll the dice I'll do a post as Gozu's response depends on your success or failure!
I flagged that in the roller as courtier/awareness but i opted for temptation/awareness + a void point, so 4k3 instead of 3k2, which means I hit a 20 which is 15 plus one raise
let me know how many kokus, I will spend up to three

I... might be able to jump in. I don't have a character but I could quickly roll one up as a replacement. Say that Auralynx's daimyo recalled him to other, more pressing issues, but that my character should be a more then sufficant replacement.

I think to be honest we will be fine with four players, and if I did bring someone new in then it would be someone who originally professed interest but missed out.
