Remind me when I do my "trade pokemon / restart save files" routine to have an extra Fennekin to never evolve, because
So...it seems you can't get Magnemite until after you beat the fairy gym, and I have no steel/poison types at the moment. Anyone wanna trade? My info's in the doc.
Been breeding most of the night. Had an acquaintance ask to trade and we swapped some random things. I added him as a friend and saw his message was "need froakie." So, I started breeding some and asked to trade (with voice chat). Traded him a froakie egg for a fennekin. It is so nice to help strangers for no reason.
edit: I said this on twitter. This is what Pokemon was meant to be from Gen 1 (and all the life lessons on the show). Helping others. Meeting new people. Yada yada.
No takers on the Magnemite? I guess I'll try again tomorrow.
Did some research and discovered that Sylveon's hidden ability is Pixilate. Which is...an pretty big jump in quality from its regular ability.
Edit: On 2nd thought, I'll just do it the old fashioned way and brute force the gym. Just need to put Delphox & Blastoise to the test.
If only pokemon with Pixilate could learn Nature Power (Tri Attack), it'd be a lot more useful. Return is good, but their Atk isn't. Hyper Beam? Sure, that works out sometimes. Round? Only good for a gimmick in doubles and triples.
Even with Nature Power, they learn Moon Blast anyway, so it's kind of redundant.
At least Cute Charm is a weaker Static.

Yeah, I thought about it and realized that most normal type moves are physical, which kind of ruins it.

A bit of a related thing: Either Nintendo is going into overdrive and doing an amazing job catching offensive shout out... or the community is doing an amazing job keeping things 100% clean. About the worst blurb I ever caught was "Smoke one", but everybody else that isn't obviously the default greeting is some form of high spirit "Hello!" or cheering or something.
...It's probably the former, but it kinda warms the sub zero cockles of my blackened shell of a heart to imagine the latter.
"The sausage of Green Earth explodes with flavor like the cannon of culinary delight."
I can't get past the breeding, planting and fleecing people in the Battle Chateau stage!
Like you don't know where to go, or you've having too much fun there? If it's the first, just keep going west and take the southern cave entrance. If the latter, well at least your not just sitting there wonder trading for hours like the rest of us.
Secrets, lies, and tragedy. The trifecta.

Who? And who is Valerie and Caleb you guys keep talking about?
Seriously, the characters are totes forgettable. And Professor Sycamore is living in cloud cuckoo land.
For those of you who have gotten your Goomys (Goomies? Goomeaux for the French?) farther along, what are they like? Is my Adamant one a gold mine, or should I be searching for Modest or something mixed?
Its Atk and Sp. Atk are both pretty high, but it learns more special than physical moves.
Also: I just got the best. hat. ever. I'm never taking it off again. I'm never washing my hair again!
Also also: Ralts with Gardevoirite GET! Gonna get that to Mega evolve next.

Valerie and Ramos are two gym leaders you probably haven't met yet.
I defeated Team Flare last night. Got a question about the different games as the girl hasn't got that far yet.
In pokemon Y, they use the pokemon of death to wipe the slate clean and try to start again. But in Pokemon X it's a different legendary isn't it? The pokemon of life. So what's their plan there? Or is it the same plan that they want to wipe the slate clean and start again and use the life pokemon to... do something like that? Do both stories unfold in the exact same way or are there differences like in Ruby and Sapphire?

More or less the same. Power the ultimate weapon with Xerneas's energy and suck the life from everyone else, more or less. Also, kill all Pokemon everywhere, forever, for some reason.
So I can track Articuno with the Pokedex, but that doesn't do me any good since as soon as I use Fly to get to the town near the route it's on, it moves away. How am I ever supposed to catch it?

If it's anything like the legendary dogs in the previous games, that'll happen.
You have to walk/cycle to it as flight causes it to jump too much. Keep track of where it is when you get through each town so that you know you're still heading in the right direction.
Then eventually you'll close in on it. Bingo bango bongo, use the masterball you already didn't use on the legendary in your game and you're laughing.

Well the problem with that is that you can't catch it that easily since it runs away instantly.
Apparently you have to encounter it over a dozen times before it finally settles down somewhere so you can catch it.

Use a pokemon that has shadow tag naturally?
Wouldn't that prevent them from running because the shadow tag is automatically up all the time?

On your birthday, SOMETHING COOL happens the first time you walk into a Pokécenter.
The lights are off, then come on, and everyone yells 'SURPRISE!' before tinkly birthday music plays while a birthday cake shows on the vidscreen behind Nurse Joy. Also, people sending 'Nice!' to you have it changed to 'Congratulations!' and your icon has a little cake by it.
So I guess you can get all of the various fossils in glittering cave? I saw mentions of gen 3 fossils being exclusive to X and gen 1 to Y, but other than that it looks like I can get everything.

You were correct. Giga Drain learned. Vileplume get!
I taught it Toxic and Venoshock. It destroyed the fairy gym.
1) How long does breeding typically take? If I throw two compatible pokes in daycare, how soon can I expect a little baby Pokemon?
2) What are people looking for in a "perfect" ditto? A nature that's widely valued, or something else?
3) Yvetyl, phys or spec attack?
