Considering how cheap XIII and XIII-2 became there was no chance in hell I'd buy LR new. It actually makes a ton of sense to make the collector's edition a website exclusive as they don't want to take a bath on it. I know someone who got the XIII-2 one for something ridiculous like 12 bucks.
I can't wait to see what Shadow looks like. Because I know I'm not the only one who initially thought the red outline of his bandanna was his eyes.
Always thought it was a scuba mask when I was a kid (back when it was still called Final Fantasy III) to be honest.
Shadow, the deep sea diving ninja. It didn't make much sense, but then, I didn't question a fuzzy dude who could kill stuff by dancing at them, I'm not going to question scuba ninja.
Especially since he's the only one that WON'T go deep sea diving, if you manage to get him to the falls.

Wait, doesn't he always leave before you get to the Veldt?

After the ghost train bit, you climb the mountain and have to jump down some water falls. If he's stayed with you that long (pretty sure it's random as to when he leaves up to that point) that's when he books.
After you jump off and fight some fish, then you wind up in the Veldt.
At least, if I recall correctly. It's been a while since I've played FF6.

He always seemed like a sensible ninja.

Yep, there is most certainly a save point right before it. Not finding it happens to most people I find who don't use a guide/have never been there before.
Yeah, IIRC it's hidden a little ways to the right. There's a hole you can drop down into and there's a save point. I think maybe you have to hit a switch for the hole to appear.
Atma Weapon down. New shit has come to light. Now in control of Celes, about to go fishing I guess?
Thanks for the tips. Definitely would not have gotten the Beret or looked for the save point if you hadn't said something.
Got there at hour 13 at level 22, left at hour 15 at level 30...I guess I wasn't ready after all!
Oh... I hope somebody mentioned this to you beforehand, or that you knew to do it. Minor bit regarding the Floating Continent:
Before you jump off, you can sit there and wait for Shadow. In fact if you back up try to jump again, you specifically get a "Gotta wait for Shadow!" option.
If you didn't do this, he's gone for good. It's not the end of the world (no pun intended) if you didn't do it. But he is a pretty cool character regardless.

Y'shtola is pretty cool. Those are just the characters in the demo, I believe. There should be a lot more characters in Curtain Call, like Ace from Type-0 and Balthier from XII.

Nope!
Perhaps you should rectify this.

There is a similar sequence where the chests are spread out such that you have to be at least somewhat prepared for the task if you want to get all the treasures + Blue Magic before time runs out. It's fun and stressful like you just described.

Google Play has the android versions of the Final Fantasy games on sale for half price at the moment. I only just got my tablet, and I was wondering if I, II and V are worth it on the tablet? I have III and IV on my DS but I've never played any of the other early Final Fantasy games.
Not playing FFV isn't really a big deal. The game itself isn't all that special in the grand scheme of the series, and the job system is better in every other iteration save FF3.
I'll play FFV when I can play an affordable, easily-accessible version on a platform with buttons and the GBA translation.
That seems to be pretty unlikely at this point; you should play it however you can.
There's something wrong with every available iteration. iOS: No buttons/fuck virtual buttons. PS1/PSN: Crap translation, bugs, load times. GBA: Expensive, will likely get a bootleg if I buy from eBay/Amazon Seller.
I'm comfortable waiting it out some more. I have plenty to do in the meantime.

That would have made me really happy
I take it that at this point it's going to be iOS forever, and voice acting and such like in those two games is just a pipe dream

I'm usually utter shite at rhythm games, and thus dislike them as a result, but I really love this.
