Like others have said, that framerate for LR looks terrible. It makes it look cheap.

PS1 - FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX
PS2 - FFX and FFXII
PS3 - FFXIII
As I said, new numbers, no MMOs

That's the game you shouldn't be forgetting.
Edit: it still counts, MMO or not.
Both online FFs had some of the best experiences in the whole franchise.

You know, a final boss with two consecutive forms with a cutscene in between is annoying at worst in most games. But considering the mechanics of Four Heroes, it's just plain cruel.
Augusta Tower is killing me on this second playthrough. I can't walk 10 feet without another encounter.
Vita version nowhere to be found
Pity it's (may? Please?) not comming to the PS4 where you can just Remote Play it...
edit: aha, the Square-Enix release says "Details regarding the PlayStation®Vita system version will be announced at a later time." -- no idea why they're holding back, but all signs point to the expected digital-only release

Oh hey, good job coming out after BD:FF. Maybe I'll find time for this in the spring.
I feel it's fully indicative of Square's continued incompetence. For all the good they're managing with things like FFXIV, they're still doing laughable things like this.
They won't even redub it. It shouldn't be taking longer than the development of the original game to spruce it up.

Whale ship don't look whale enough though, bro.
I'd argue that while knowing something happens in advance may seem immediately preferable, it means that the story has less lasting impact. Adorable counterpoint (uh, spoilers for Star Wars):

Revisiting something once you've experienced the twist is a delightfully unique experience - going through once unspoiled, then going through it again means you have the best of both worlds.
I'd absolutely love a new Dissidia and am frankly surprised we haven't gotten a sequel yet. That should be a franchise that can continue to exist as they keep adding more characters.
For the love of god make a Dissidia with an online mode.

Rikku's line has no context - lines about someone possibly dying are common in trailers
And there's no context to the X-2 stuff either
That trailer is Perfectly Fine

It is now November 2013
If you need more proof of SE's incompetence You aren't paying attention
FFX alone might be that on its own
But both games? I imagine there's a lot of shit that goes into getting all that stuff looking right
"Yeah we thought remakes of X and X-2 would be cool, so we're announcing them here. I guess we should start work on it at some point."
If you need proof of Square Enix doing stupid/incompetent things, taking a long time to do a HD remake of a popular game is pretty low on the list.
Tabletop:13th Age (mm-mmm), D&D 4e
Occasional words about games: my site
Lol that may be true but how about this?
Youre actually not that far off...
The game was still in "Early Development" in January 2012
I really dont think they did any work on this thing until after that TGS 2011 announcement lol
They had over 350 people working on that game. Most weren't new hires or external contracts or anything either. SE literally moved almost their entire staff onto a single project for long stints of time.
which, might I note, worked out very well for them as FFXIV did better then they projected in the end.
To be fair, this is the same company that came onstage during the PS4 reveal to show an old trailer for a game that doesn't even exist, followed by "Please be excited for when we'll show you stuff you might actually care about at a later time".
I'd argue the MGS HD Collection is a far bigger HD port as quantity goes.
Regardless, I'm sure if they just gave the games to Bluepoint they would have been done at half the time.
So far the only extra mile this collection seems to have gone for is updated character models and remastered music. Beyond that, the dubbing is untouched, the FMVs are cropped, and the texture work is reportedly "good but not great".
It really shouldn't have taken this long.

That should be the pull quote on pretty much every Square Enix game at this point.
It would also be probably the only thing Bluepoint would be working on.
Meanwhile they've been working on what: FFXIV, FFXV, FFXII-3, Bravely Default, DQX, KH 1.5, KH2.5. Probably others I'm forgetting. Not to mention the whole Eidos subsection, though one would hope that doesn't require much actual involvement.
I mean that's a serious problem in and of itself. They've got too damn much work on their plate already, and they keep announcing new shit, when they really need to shut the fuck up and finish up their workload first.
It's not taking a long time because they olol suck at making games. It's taking a long time because they olol suck at time/work management
Never said anything of the former, agree entirely on the latter.
This is not to say they don't make bad games, but if they would get their certified hits out quicker (FFXV) then their missteps wouldn't seem so prevalent.
