2) Ach it's only a few lawyers and estate agents. We need to take out that titan before it launches even more aerial targets, so move up and Fire the microfission cannon at it.
"Major damage to cryo capsule tray partition. 800 vital sign monitors no longer communicating."
Fuck 'em anyway. You didn't sign-up to be anyone's babysitter.
"Computer, engage primary drive,"
"Acknowledged,"
You increase the throttle all the way to notch 10 - maximum power. The vehicle begins rumbling forward.
An aircraft launches from the deck of the last of your primary targets; a big one. Some sort of ground attack monster.
You arm the warhead sitting in the main cannon and watch the effective range indicator, centering your sights on the aircraft carrier. As soon as it turns green, you pull the trigger.
The explosion rocks the Titan. The lights in the command deck flicker, the scope is momentarily cluttered with static. When the display resets itself, you see what's left of the carrier bowled-over onto it's side, with the ground attack aircraft scattered into a trail of burning debris on the far left.
"Ow, what the ffff---"
Another sharp jolt of electricity.
"Damage report: penetration of rear-center reactive armor tiles. Subsection D offline,"
Those Goddamn gunships.
Basic Combat Mechanics
Every turn, you may either:
a) Move once and shoot one weapon
or
b) Remain stationary and shoot as many weapons as you like
Each weapon except for conventional shells may only be fired once per mission; conventional shells will never run out, but every other type of munition will be discarded and reshuffled into the player deck.
Enemies are all inactive by default. Every turn where the player takes no hostile action, the Alert level rises by 1 point and a d10 is rolled; any enemy who's sum of Sensor value + the Alert level value + the d10 result is 10 or greater will become active and attack the player. If the player takes a hostile action, all enemy units immediately become active and the Alert level becomes 10 (it's maximum possible value).
Keyword primer:
Area Kill: Hits all targets at a given range value.
Evasive Maneuvers: Target may re-roll a successful hit against it once per mission.
Ponderous: Target may be hit with vehicle-defeating weapons as well as anything that can otherwise target it
Vehicle Layout
What do you do?
Your Titan has taken rear-center damage. Both of it's rear facings have had a point of reactive armor ablated away, and you must choose one of the two following options:
1) Take a damage card and place it over your rear-center hard point. This will add a random detrimental effect to the vehicle, render the rear-center hard point unusable until the damage is repaired, and cause the card currently sitting on the hardpoint (the Cargo Bay) to be discarded.
2) Lose 1d4 Cryo Capsule trays. You have total load of 6 such trays, each carrying 200 people. If you lose all 6 trays, you lose the game. There are no penalties for losing any number of trays so long as you don't lose them all; it will just lower your score at the end of the game.
...you may also:
a) Remain stationary and fire any weapons at any target within range
b) Move forward and fire one weapon at any target within range
c) Shit's getting too hot; time to bail!
@Tayrun stop being so fucking effective, you've murdered 800 people already. Murderer.
Atleast I had the good senses to only fire ineffectively at the front of armour of us. (And eat bullets like a champ).
Shouldn't our Passive Thick Skin ability have meant that a successful hit needs to be re-rolled? I believe you've done that for the first two Hostile rolls.

You track the gun sights over the helicopters on your flank. They're quick; you're quicker.
You depress and hold the trigger. In contrast from the earlier plodding exchange of cannon fire, this is fast. Visceral.
Exciting.
The door latch leading to a long forgotten place within you comes loose, and you start to smile as fuselages, rotor blades and control surfaces fail, rip and burn. You don't leave anything larger than a cigarette butt to crash to the garage floor.
"All threats terminated. Mission area clear. Autopilot engaged; garage egress in process..."
The scope dies and retracts.
...Autopilot?

Well, they shouldn't have put a hardened criminal Loose Canon in charge if you wanted a us to worry about a few dozen casualties.
Move forward and microfission.

Man, getting a 4 was really unlucky, but oh well, at least subtle negotiation is a viable tactic.

2) All the flak!
