You know, it's probably a good thing I don't care about stats. Apparently my accuracy for the L85A2 is 10%.
I blame all the pre-firing and mid-long range engagements without and ACOG. Mostly the fact that I pre-fire all the fucking time. Maybe that's a habit I should unlearn but most of the other shooters I play it's a big deal to just keep shooting where someone might be when you have an automatic weapon.
Lol accuracy stat. It's like you people have never looked at my stats before. Trust me when I tell you, stats don't make this game fun just interesting.
Was playing with a friend tonight, and we decided to have a competition doing pistols only. It was a lot of fun, and I think I may do this for awhile. I wasn't doing to bad, and I would think if I started doing decent with just my pistol, when I switched back to a real weapon I'd have to be better right?
The only pistol that matters:
I played on pistol only servers just to unlock the shorty and I regret nothing. It is great.
I came to the pistol only server for unlocks, but I stayed for the fuck-ton of experience I get from 1000-ticket domination maps.
Fuck I think I had a 56k round the other night; it was with a 50% boost but shit that's fun. I have just a couple more unlocks to complete and I get back "back" to the "game proper."
Rakeeth ended up squad leader all night for PAers on a dominion server and was getting 10K easily every round at far less than 1000 tickets.

I feel like accuracy doesn't matter except with, say, pymp shotguns, where you often only get exactly one shot per battle.

Also at every successive map our squad count increased by one. At one point had an 8 man squad...on a 32 man server.

I would like to take this moment to stress how much I fucking love this game. The available gadgets and field upgrade kits make all of the classes very diverse, and the incentives to work as a squad (along with the reintroduction of voip) make teamplay a blast.
The gadgets are all pretty good. About the only 'sub-classes' I feel need looked at in any big way (aside from niggling stuff like double ammo on the ammo giving support) are Perimeter defense (neither gadget is worth a slot, let alone both with no ammo) and Grenadier (could use being able to switch between grenades and a non-lethal type. Mostly just to encourage variety).
Perimeter defense seems highly specialized to when you've got a tight squad set on defending a point for a long time. Places like the points most adjacent to enemy spawn, where you're working hard on keeping their armor pushed back, and you expect a steady stream of bad guys trying to take it back.
That's just in theory, I haven't had a chance to really try it out since i've been leveling up everything else and haven't had a chance to go back to using the support class.
Basically the isssue is while both gadgets can be cool for that and the perk for suppression is nice (even if IMO suppression is rarely an issue in this game), neither of the gadgets really out perform the XM25 and an ammo pack at doing the same job and more.
Claymores are way too obvious, I've literally never gotten a kill with one (and I've heard it rumored that double claymores currently doesn't work).
MP-APS is neat in theory but only blocks rockets and tank shots which both isn't what I'd want out of something for the support and doesn't do it's job very well as it'll be a rare time when you can position that to have any big effect while not getting the equipment destroyed immediately.
Honestly I feel support's kinda awkward as a class identity wise compared to the others (assault is the best vs infantry, engy is best vs tanks, Recon is a mix of both with info giving but is more high risk than the others in return) so seeing them move towards making it the dedicated 'this is my spot and you can't have it class' would be neat between setting up mortars to call on, setting down claymores and creating grenade free zones with buffed MP-APS's (and IMO that would be the main buff they actually need).
MP-APS also blocks the helicopter gunner's shells. I was a chopper gunner on Siege of Shanghai and I had a hell of a time clearing a squad out of the top of the skyscraper at C because they had an MP-APS down and all my shots just dissipated.
It blocks anything that's not a grenade or a bullet AFAIK. So it's the anti vehicle option I guess, just wish it did a little more (and gave points for blocking projectiles).

Yeah, definitely couldn't agree with you more on that one. For such a niche device, it seems like there should be more bonuses beyond "not die".
Well it's kinda like how I'd like flashbangs to give assist points if someone dies while flashed. I can get not having those points for smoke because it's pretty hard to measure smokes effectiveness but the other tools it just seems weird to not get rewarded for good use.
I still need to get some grenade kills to get smokes/flashbangs on my assault.
Dunno how, was playing around with it tonight (pretty much same opinion, neat toy, would be great if it blocked grenades) and never got points off of blocking anything.
So I'm just coming in here to write a weekly whine-letter about commanders.
Commanders randomly spotting everyone on the map ruins infantry engagements, it sure doesn't help that spots work through smoke, so smoke grenades don't work at all with a UAV around.

Now, I don't consider a good commander (shoot...I'm just trying to be a decent commander), but don't EMPs block the UAV scanner? Whenever I see a UAV up (and the enemy cruise missile is on cooldown), I'll drop an EMP blackout as often as I can to blot out the UAV sensor data.

The issue is that UAVs have a three second cooldown so its just spam city on those.
They need to be team-point based and with a longer cooldown, they need to be a special thing rather than click (wait three seconds) click for the entire game.
-I'm almost positive that shooting someone while they throw a grenade makes it your grenade, as in BF3. I managed to ninja my way through a Grenade Curtain on Locker Conquest and shot three guys before they noticed my dorito was the wrong color and killed me. Then, a second later, I got a double kill with a V40 Mini, and I hadn't thrown any grenades.
-The IRNV sight has a rangefinder! That would make it really handy for sniper rifles and DMRs with the zeroing thing except for the lack of zoom. FLIR might work better but I haven't tried it and I dunno if it also displays distance.
-If the server is rubberbanding badly enough and you've been fiddling with the zeroing on your SCAR-H SV, it can reset your zero to the last thing you had it at.
-When the guy is five meters away and you're still set on 1000m, you aren't going to hit shit.
It may not surprise you to learn that some of these tidbits arrived all at once.

I finally understand what people mean by "horrifically bad stability." EA, perhaps you should consider adding a function that just hits 'accept' over and over again, I promise that when I want to stop matchmmaking, I'll hit cancel. You don't need to drop me off four or five times before you matchmmake me into the wrong map, or then drop me from loading.
The first two days were stable, but this is now SimCity levels of online consistency.

They'd have to be like, minus-team point based or something or you'd just be giving an even larger advantage to the winning team, and BF4 is generally already a stomp on alot of servers.
I've maxed out out both support and engineer. My current goals include unlocking everything for the M240b I haven't already (non pack stuff), getting unlocks for my new Ace carbine (the 7.62 one), and maybe, maybe playing recon.
My roomate plays recon on the 360 a lot, but I can't do it. I don't want to be one of then. You know, them.
Also, what LMG do I get the packs for first? I love the raw damage of the PKP, but m249 is still beautiful. I mean, what LMG do I want to make my baby? You know, before I get my hands on the M60.
