Spending your one megastone on a sweeper that can't outspeed base 100s is kind of...not impressive at all. Mega Gengar has what, like 170-something special attack and 130 speed? I doubt Mega Gardevoir will see much use unless a ton of other megas are banned. Which they probably will be, but still.

Oh, certainly. But for single-player, it's still a beastly option. And the only other mega fairy is Mawile, who is even slower.

Mega Aerodactyl outspeeds Mega Gengar by 20, though.

Can someone battle me so I can forfeit turn 1? I just want to see some level 50 stats. I've been asking passerbys but no one is accepting.

Yeah, the thing about fairies right now is they pretty much uniformally are either really slow, have a really shallow movepool, or both. Gardevoir has an awesome offensive movepool, but is still kind of slow (and isn't as sturdy as the dedicated special walls). So if Gardevoirite does see use, it will be less a matter of Mega Gardevoir being awesome as it is a matter of having access to fairy resistances without being weighed down by those weaknesses.

I'm really not feeling Malamar. I need a psychic, but I dunno. Maybe it's the fact that it appears to be mainly a physical 'mon, but has no physical psychic attack yet. And if I need Dark, then I got Pangoro for that (I love this guy!).

Maybe I'll get myself a Ralts. Then I can have some fairy coverage too.

Malamar's only real gimmick is that it gets Contrary and Superpower. As a straight psychic type it's quite unimpressive.

And Gardevoir is a beast in-game. There's very little that can seriously threaten one, and the few things that do (like things that spam poison or steel attacks) are generally not good against anything except fairies. Dark attacks are by far the most dangerous things for most psychics, since everyone and their dog gets Bite or something, but Gardevoir doesn't really care at all (although I guess Malamar doesn't either). 80 base speed means she's probably still going to be kind of meh competitively, but high-speed fairies aren't really a thing yet.

I've got about a box and a half of timid Raltses if you want one. Your choice of Trace or Synchronize.

Sure, if you don't mind. Ability doesn't matter much, but a female if you got one. Just on the grounds that it seems more... appropriate given its design. :)

Is there anything you want? About the only go-to things I have at the moment are the ability to breed up a Squirtle or Femmekin.

I wouldn't turn down a Squirtle. My 3DS code is 0817-4948-1650 whenever you're ready (in-game name is Kyrah).

@RockinX added you for the sexy dragon safari.

My other plan was to start with Goodra and Mega Mawile (as the latter basically eats anything that can hurt the former), and go from there... probably something water type to mop up Mawile's weaknesses (and Goodra nicely resists everything that beats water!).

Save a promising one and grind 200 BP to switch its ability

If you go Mega Scizor its irrelevant as its default ability is technician

there is an 80% chance of the resulting offspring having the same "slotted" Ability as its mother and hence a 20% chance of the other Ability being passed down as long as the other parent is not Ditto.

In my experience, two Swarm Scythers will never produce a Technician and two Technician Scythers will never not produce a Technician. But then I had been led to believe that a Technician plus another species would also always produce Technician, so I haven't tested this exhaustively yet.

Sometimes you gotta just keep throwing the crap back until you get something uncommon or interesting out.

I mentioned a short while ago that I got a female Quilladin from wonder trade, likely the inhabitant of someone's friend safari zone. I expect that more interesting stuff will become more common as people wrap up the main game and access safari zones or set up their own pokemon breeding mills.

Tackled a perfect Honedge breeding project today. Got some brave ones with 31 in HP/Att/Def/SpDef in almost no time at all with the help of some safari dittos. It's so much easier this gen!

I wound up with some extras so I figure I'll see if anyone wants one. I'd like to get a nice Klefki or Mawile back, but anything decent would be cool. I also have a bunch with 3/4 perfect stats that I'd take maybe some cool safari mons for.

I've got some safari Klefkis & Electabuzz and 2 spare safari Dittos (Att/Speed, Sp. Def/Speed). Also have some bred Noibats, one of them being perfect HP/Def/SP. Def/Speed. I'd be keen on a Honedge.

And judging by the balloons people have said give them trouble, you may overestimate charged shots. They are only worth three regular medium shots. (I got super-weak shots sometimes, so my working guess is that my regular tap is longer than what counts as a tap, or whatever?)

You get points faster most of the time by just breaking the white goals and getting on with the red goals, anyhow. And don't fully charge for the red goal. Just spam it. Maybe charging gets a lot more efficient if you have high EVs for Def and Sp. Def. I just had Sp. Atk, so I wouldn't know.

The hardest bot for me may be Probopass, because when I end up at the wrong angle, some goals are so high up that they're hard to even aim at. So I stayed as still as possible.

Bulbasaur is amazing at super training. Fully automatic is good enough, but that changes the charge shot.

See, you normally get one hit with those. But if you get a volley going immediately after a charge, you can get the whole batch at enhanced damage. 1,000 damage at a time type stuff.

Nice. Dakka does seem the way to go.

  • cB557cB557 voOOP Registered User regular
However, for some damn reason you can't fire and move at the same time, so if you're in a training where you need to dodge a lot you should probably go semi-auto.

Two badges down and starting the breeding program in earnest now. I still need fly before I can mass produce(gotta be able to get back to the daycare reliably), but I do have at least one extra of every starter if anyone wants, as well as a spare Tyraunt and Amaura. Next up for breeding: mass quantities of Evees.

    Few questions:

    1. How long until I get fly? What gym?

    2. I have been seeing requests for Mudkips, Cyndaquils, etc, but internal search on my end turns up nothing. Are these actually available?

    3. Where can I buy the various evolution stones?
