GMG has confirmed no Steam code for GTAV (just one for GTA:SA), which puts me on the fence. I haven't used whatever service Rockstar provides and don't really want to start, but still, $14. I'm sure if Steam pre-loads (it most likely will), Rockstar will, but sometimes GMG doesn't get their keys until the last second. Decisions.

how are you getting GTA5 for 14 dollars?
$14 off
Well, technically speaking, if you had built up a crap-ton of GMG credit (or sold enough Steam trading cards) amounting to $46...

14 off 60 is still way to much for a game that's over a year old.

I would have gladly paid $60 for the PC version on November 25th along with Xbox One and PS4. I think it's pretty crappy I still have to pay that 4 months later, but I wants it so whatever.

Rockstar's ... download service?... is called Rockstar Warehouse, I haven't used it either. Put pre-load is guaranteed from both the Warehouse ("Grand Theft Auto V for PC will be available for pre-load on the Rockstar Warehouse before release.") and Steam has a similar claim ("Grand Theft Auto V for PC will be available for pre-load prior to release.")

Sir Carcass means $14 cheaper (on GMG than Steam or at the Rockstar Warehouse).

I had $60 in steam wallet waiting for a month for GTA5. I went and pre-purchased it immediately. I would have rather had LA Noire as I never got to fully play through that game (Also, noir police/detective/criminal stories are a favorite of mine). I never played fully through SA either though, so I think it would be fun to see a kind of before and after effect once GTA5 comes out.
You know...I don't think I ever finished San Andreas, either. I remember getting distracted as soon as I got the P-51 and would see how many AV-68 Harriers I could down before I had to eject.

I just couldn't get into 4. For a game called "Grand Theft Auto", I would have expected the driving to be semi-decent...but all the cars felt WAY too floaty for my tastes. And then there was the cousin......those two factors caused a huge disconnect for me.

There's over 2 months till release, I'm sure plenty of Steam code deals will be out between now and then.

Started San Andreas.
Remembered what I hated about GTAIV and past games.
No checkpoints. No quicksaves. You die, you go to hospital every time with no weapons.
Sheeeeit.
Gonna grit and run with it though. This game is a lot of fun and the story starts out pretty cool too.
Edit: Man, SA has been a blast. That motorcycle chase with Big Smoke and the terminator shout-out was rad as shit man.
Though, I hear these gun sounds and look at the effects, and wonder: "This is the same Rockstar that published Max Payne 2, right? They couldn't ask Remedy for any of their shit?"

Cant wait till it comes to PC and then mod it to hell and back
Conspiracy theory time; Rockstar delayed the PC launch of the game so that they could get Heists out first. They've done this out of a fear that PC modders will create and launch their own Heists within a few days, which would have left Rockstar red faced if the official Heists were still delayed.

Except no doubt the modded heists would come with bugs, causing everyone to go 1) geez Rockstar, why u leave these bugs in here? and 2) eh it's a mod of course there's bugs.
Option A)
They release a sub par game, that is broken in some way. Players get angry they released the game early, stop playing before the first patch. Everyone says "Man Rockstar's PC ports suck!"
Option
They delay and then release a functional, complete game. Players get angry they have to wait for it, but are happy when they receive they game they wanted and it works as intended at launch. Everyone says "Man Rockstar's PC ports rock!"
Unless of course option B ends with the game still being a complete mess even after the delay to polish it up. Entirely possible nowadays.

I wasn't being serious about the conspiracy anyway, but it will be interesting to see just what the modding community can do with the game.

I think a more likely conspiracy is they delayed it to the next fiscal quarter for financial reasons. That was the rumored reason for the original delay of GTA 4.
Either way, I do find it odd that it became available for pre-order almost immediately after the second delay was announced, like it's not ready now, but it absolutely will be ready in 2 months. Why not 1 month?

You know, with you mentioning the nightclub thats locked away, I wonder if they need a ton of time to remove any potential 'hot coffee' assets, which then could have an adverse effect elsewhere(adding, removing, or placeholding anything can have adverse effects)
+1

You think they'd ever do expansion packs like Episodes? I'm playing through SA, and I think it would be cool for them to bring back San Fierro or any other city on the map, with a new character or even a new trio. Like maybe a Tong, a Vietnamese gangster, and a Yakuza go into business gun running. Perhaps with the new city and characters they could introduce a better melee system, maybe going back to their The Warriors game roots and steal some mechanics there.

Hadn't even thought of it, but the mechanics of GTA V do mean that they're probably going to do a trio for any major expansion.
Yeah, that was cool. You could also put in a code that turned all pedestrians everywhere into zombies. Rockstar did such a good job with Red Dead, though. I'll be driving around town in first person mode, looking around at the pretty city and just imagining how cool it would be if there were zombies all over the place with overturned cars and fires spreading.
Man, I bet it would be awesome.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

GTA V could actually do an alien invasion mode and remain true to the setting.

I can see now why they never got tow trucks working properly with the netcode. Infinite elasticity combined with crazy tensile strength, plus unpredictable player interactions, and the physics engine has a very bad day. Connecting them in a loop hard-locks the game for the player driving the lead vehicle.
Also, (not to be a kill-joy), I wonder why RT gets a free pass on this. Anyone else (especially on XB1) would end up with a RSC ban-hammer falling on them.
Vanoss was doing the exact same thing, except they had the bright Idea to link all 6 tow trucks into a circle. They started all freaking out and eventually achieved lift off and the glitchyness just kind of propelled them into the air.

4 was a great game too, but it was a little to real, even though it had a brilliantly delivered message

warning, annoying loudness.
The only real thing I miss from online is wildlife. A hunting minigame could have been great on top of that.
