So what's the online community like for this these days? I'm considering picking up the PS4 version some time soon.
I get full lobbies all the time, WANG on ps4 doesnt really get a lot of people on. I think I have seen 3 crew members. To be honest not seeing people on makes me not get on which perpetuates the problem I guess. I think its just time + platform switch. I'm betting on a heavy uptick on the PC, at least for a while.
Yeah, I reckon there's a lot of folks waiting on the PC release. Which is exactly what I'm doing. Mods (if they work properly) will keep people coming back for a long time too.

So does anyone know how big the download for this game will be? I know the requirements say 65Gigs, but the actual, hopefully compressed, download? That's a pretty sizable chunk of bandwidth, and with a cap to keep up with, I'll basically have to not download anything else the entire month probably.

Seeing as how the current gen console versions used every bit of 50GB along with a hefty day one patch download and they don't even support 4k... I'm sure 65 GB is the compressed file.
This next one is a long one. I discovered that the military base tower is enterable, so I challenged myself to climb to the top of the tower without any help from Lester. This was my 3rd attempt.

I agree with the article about the 30-player playlists. In the past Rockstar have been able to entice players into playlists with relatively simple incentives (Manhunt mask, double $ and RP). I've joined these playlists myself and it was pretty easy to get full lobbies. I don't see why every weekend cannot be dedicated to a specific game type (eg. LTS, Team DM, Racing etc) and provide extra bonuses for using them. I mean, you only get about 4k for winning a race - bumping that up to 8k is hardly going to ruin the economy, but it might just convince people to accept invites.
Yeah random events and planned events keep your community alive. While every weekend causes staleness, they could be doing them a hell of a lot more often.
For example, air drops should ABSOLUTELY be just a regular random event. These go a long way to getting a lobby to pay attention to the same goal at the same time. Same with armored cars. Which seem to be bugged with how they spawn over and over or so rarely people dont understand what they are. If simeon announced on his wanted cars occasionally that there was a 3x payout, it would get people racing to the vehicles again.
So there's a Double RP playlist this weekend. The key word missing from that, however, is cash. Might still give it a whirl.

Yeah they could have done better to make sure friends/clan mates play together. You can definitely do a friends only session though I thought? Just friends have to actively seek you out as the host to join though... But anyways I used to play with Nackmatholn all the time like that. Made it easier in the dark days to go back to a private shard so we could deposit cash without fear of being murdered and losing it.
edit: What really bugs me, is friday or saturday I remembered I checked the playstation menu to see if an event was going on, because they advertised it there before. and it said nothing, so I threw in a bluray with commentary instead.

Cause i sold my 360 copy long ago with fevered anticipation of pc.
It was fun as hell in an almost all pa group betting on who would win the races and such. You dont even have to be a good racer to enjoy that.....

At 70 bucks for PC, double dipping is seriously not in my future. Looking forward to coming back on 360 for heists.

GMG isn't offering steam codes, just rockstar social club codes, and noone can figure out if that means eventually a steam code gets spit out, or if rockstar will have their own download client.
