Digging further, it looks like at Citizen Con, CIG said two Super Hornets would fit and three regular Hornets. Both due to hangar size and ship capacity/weight limits.

@eobot, better link that gif instead of embedding it. No matter if you've got the bandwidth or not, the PA mods don't take too kindly to 21mb GIFs on here.
That's the best I've managed to come up with out of those.
64x45, 128x90, 192x135, and 256x180. The small one is still kind of muddy. I think it might just be those angles. Might have to just manually make a separate tiny one.
Edit: Looking at just the stripe, it looks like part of the problem with it getting muddy is the light grey background.
Edit Edit: You can download my SVG's here.

My personal hope is that basically everything from the Freelancer on up will have some capacity to be retrofitted to have a smaller craft attached for carrying, with the dockable craft being relative to the ship size. I can imagine that assloads of people would happily take the temporary maneuverability hit of having something like an M50 bolted on as well as the slight permanent maneuverability loss of the extra docking gear if it means that them and their buds can fly around in the same ship, then split off and fight together if something happens.
The way I see it, that wouldn't even put a dent in the utility of something like an Idris. Being able to haul around a single extra ship would be great, but it would also be exposed to attacks and slow down the larger ship considerably, as well as being kept in a situation where only minor repairs would be doable since you wouldn't have a bay to work in. Then with an Idris, you have a ship that can handle carrying fighters just fine, they're kept safely inside, nobody can easily tell exactly what the ship is carrying, and you have a bay in which you can handle major repairs without having to dock somewhere.
One setup would be great for letting people have more fun together and add some more spice to the gameplay dynamic, and the other lets a group stay out for a long time, even if the smaller vessels take heavy damage.

Looking at the silhouettes, there just isn't enough volume for more than 2. I hope that if the Bengal carries 72 to 90 like a modern US super carrier then the pocket carries 24 to 30. Anything smaller should carry 4 tops, IMO.
Edit: I mean 4 tops rather than a amount proportional to their size relative to the pocket carrier due to internal volume being allocated to something other than hangar space. Should have a carrier type ship to carry more than minimal small craft, I think.
While the Nimitz -class could technically carry 130 F/A-18s (they actually did for testing purposes once), that sort of ridiculousness is never actually in play during real world ops. More typically they have a Carrier Air Wing, which typically resembles: 4x squadrons of 10-14 F/A-18s in mixed configurations (E, F, or C), a half dozen EA-6Bs or EA-18Gs (electronic attack), 4x E-2Cs (early warning), 10 MH-60S and 11 MH-60Rs (these are the group helos, technically "based" on the carrier but half tend to be elsewhere in the strike group at any given time), and whatever FleetLog sent them, which is typically a couple C-2s (light cargo and resupply).
In other news, Top Gun lied to you.
Also, logistics are a big fucking deal and while fighters are "cool," I'm really curious to see what the folks at Roberts come up with for fleet tenders. I hope the Bengal is accounting for needing larger ships to be capable of landing aboard it for logistics purposes.
Yeah, I said 72 to 90, not 90 plus 40. Also, the breakdown you listed there is more in line with the amount I proposed.
Not trying to jump down your throat or anything, but pointing out that the Bengal carrying "90 ships" is a lot different from the Bengal carrying "90 fighters," particularly given the scalar differences we're seeing between the two classes of vessel.

And I did not say 90 fighters.
Edit: That being said, a lot of the support craft could be consolidated, I think. In space you can use the same platforms for sar as you use for supply and other utility functions. Don't need to split your available space between winged transports and rotor lift platforms.

You know, when I read Space helicopters, I pictured in my head a craft that has all the thrusters pointing one way. On a gyroscope outside the body of the craft. Probably wouldn't work as I picture it, but that is what I thought of.

Rotating mass field pods on extensors which generate a gyrogravitational stream which can be directed to move the craft in nonstandard directions in comparison to conventional spacecraft.
I'm pretty sure that's the design doc for the Xi'an scout isn't it? Bunch of thrusters on gyroscopes 'n whatnot. There's your space-get-to-the-choppah.
God damn. Now I'm sad that Babylon 5 Starfury space sim was canceled. The part I played was crazy neat with the physics.
missing the bro button right now.
It was super crazy because you would never use your main thrust for more than like a second then it was all the other thrusters to change direction, quick tap of main thrust to change the direction of inertial stuff like that. If you went full thrust all the time you were an uncontrollable pile of wreckage.

I am just tuning to state that I super dig the retro 70s/80s WAN Group logo chaps. This whole process has gotten away from me somewhat - you're steaming ahead at a real rate of knots.

I re-added the curved base like @Elvenshae had, since I finally managed to get a version of it working which I was happy with. I've also exported versions with the corners and the letters smashed together (intended to be the "low detail" version for small images). Exported them both at all kinds of sizes (x1/x2/x3/x4/x8/x16) just to see how those different features worked at different sizes. I still want to replace the GROUP text to have a font more in line with the WAN lettering, but I'm out of time right now to keep playing around with it.
The first episode of The Next Great Starship is up! Looking forward to seeing what comes of the show/contest. It's pretty smart of CIG to go this route seeing as how ships cost so much to create. Hell, they might even make money off the show considering the number of sponsors involved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIb4rTrP_9w

And now I'm only going to be able to see a vacuum when I see anything like the back half of that last gun they picked.
I suspect this project will also serve to nicely get the modding scene going for this game, which could end up with some interesting results depending on how much interaction and support there is from CIG.

Both of the guns from the single member project teams are amazing. Hope they make it in the final product.
The one that looks like a shell and opens has a lot of potential. It looks like Roberts is big on two things. Complex animations and stupid amounts of detail. Dude is obsessed with pushing computer technology.

Take your time and get something you're happy with. I can't add it into the history yet because the Textile markup is pretty borked in the Org system and the markup for adding images does not function at all (along with a lot of the rest of the markups). Hopefully they correct that stuff on the next patch.
I'll work on the Manifesto and Charter this weekend as well. Don't expect them to be as exciting as the history, but I'll be sure to slip in as many subtle references as i can... and I'm sure you guys will come up with more once i post them here.

(Btw, if you internet has problems with that .gif you won't be able to play Star Citizen, so time to switch to a real provider.) :P
2 fighters + cargo or 3 fighters sans cargo is reasonable enough I guess.
