I just realized.. after the Corki nerf, Corki is now just a bad Lucian. I wonder how the revamped Q and AD ratio on missiles will have Corki feeling.
He's going to feel really sluggish.
The nerfs seem a bit heavy; I don't know about everyone else, but he has never felt like a problem at my elo.
Riot has a really weird relationship with Corki being good. Remember last year a couple patches before Worlds they gave Graves and Ezreal love taps, but they basically gutted him with the passive, W, and R nerfs? And now he's actually good again and they're slamming him back into the ground. I don't know if it's because he's always been relatively unpopular in solo queue, or his true damage/armor shred, or what. The S4 masteries seem like they'll be really good for him, so maybe it's preemptive.
in that situation shouldn't your mid be now playing against someone they're really good at killing?
On the rest of the map it would be 4v4 your mid, jungle, adc, support vs their top, jungle, adc, support. Maybe you have a slight advantage in that. Maybe their mid kills you and then they 5v4 your team.
edit: At pac: The problem with Phage is that triforce isn't that strong on her compared to raw AD/Penetration. So while Phage isn't bad you're going to be delaying your primary items which are, in my mind. BT, BC/Whisper, and Mallet. This can put you at a disadvantage because of the increased efficiency of upgrading items
In theory, I agree. In practice, with Quinn having such low range the ability to kite effectively is very closely tied to her ability to do damage. Also, even though she scales hard with straight AD, the free attack speed she gets as Valor and whenever she procs Harrier makes crit really good on her. I agree with your items except for Mallet. I never have a problem sticking or chasing on Quinn, and I'd rather have more damage, more lifesteal, or a straight defensive item like SV/BV than a mallet on her.
If you're ahead though, Riven is one of the best team fighting champs in the game. Why not just group with your team and win? Was there something about their comp that discouraged you from doing so?
This is more speculative than an answer but Riven isn't the tankiest melee character around. Even with her shield, you're invest 6k+ (BT Brut LW) into offenses before you're buying a meaningful defensive item. If you're the sole threat on your team, they can afford to focus you down and ruin your day with five character's CC while your team flails about trying to get in position. If you're a fed riven, you can't be stopped in your split push by a single person and can force 4v3s for your team all day. You also collapse faster than just about anyone so you can force 5v3s if you really want.
I guess none of this helps if your team is getting slaughtered 4v3

Yea i can see that: Just trying to think about ways to get her HP up without sacrificing much damage.
So what you go Vamp->Phage->Brut->BT->Defensive Item->Cleaver>Tri-force->Whisper/second defensive item
6 item would be
Defensive Boots: BT : BC: Whisper: Triforce : Defensive item (not in any particular order)
Riot has a really weird relationship with Corki being good.
This is because fuck Corki.
More seriously, it kind of feels like marksmen have been taking a trip on the merry nerf roundabout recently. Lucian's probably next on the chopping block.

Yeh, they do trat Corki weird. He'll be nerfed to unplayability for most of S4 then, amazingly, 2 months before lcs, he'll be god mode again.

I feel like I play Quinn the same way I play any other top laner. First I just build whatever I need to, to win lane. I think i'd rather go vamp -> phage -> BT -> LW if armor stacks, finish trinity otherwise. Cleaver is HP, but I feel like you have to make a decision to build trinity OR cleaver, but not both. I think i'd rather have BT than a brutalizer.

There were a few reasons. I'm a garbage riven outside of duelling when I'm ahead, so I'm not sure if I could have contributed a lot to a teamfight. They also had a great 5v5 team (Vlad, Vayne, Ori, I think sej and nami maybe?) and apart from me, all of our lanes were losing. We had a Janna though, so I was hoping we could just disengage and buy me some time to split.
I mean, if any part of kit gives him any sort of unbalanced advantage Corki Valkries on to your team and does Carry damage to one person and a FUCKTON of damage to everyone else. While it might not directly contribute kills to Corki, the extra damage/shred from Gatling put him over the top when ahead.

Well except that Corki in range to Gatling Gun the tank/bruiser is dead.
It's all about the fat passive procs late game and for that you want super AD.
Well the passive procs scaling bonus damage to be equal to a trinity proc you need to have about +280 AD. And trinity also gives you AD. If you're looking for items for quin, AD isn't bad but its really penetration which she benefits from. This is especially true since in a fight you will get at most 3 passive procs off: 1 from first auto, then e, then second second auto then 3 seconds later you get another
Since you can thread your E and Q abilities in order to get two trinity procs from it then a third with a w. That is 3 trinity procs/fight or +600% base AD. Assuming about 70 base AD this is 420 damage. A 3 passive proc quin will have an AD ratio of 2.35 + auto attacks. So the base AD you have to get to equal the trinity proc damage is about 150-200 depending on how many auto's you get off.
So then you have to consider the trinity attack speed and crit and hp and phage procs. Its really not a bad item on her even if you don't get it first.

if corki is in range to drop anything besides rockets, he's in range of the bruisers/tanks.

@Goumindong says these things so much better than me. I'd just be all "I proc sheen in my harass combo at least twice, and crit and movespeed are always nice on a short range carry"

I'm not even going to make it to silver 2 this season. I give up on ranked for now. I can't stand the people I'm getting on my team.

Yea, if I got some insane win streak then I'd hit gold from silver 3. But it wont happen. It will never happen. I win 1 game and then I lose 5 in a row.

@Infidel I watched most of that last game. I had never seen the Janna ult/Singed throw combo... thing until then.
Haha yeah, right after the epic Leona "miss" that I netted into cause WAT, that Singed flipping an ulting Janna so they end up on top of each other... gg.
The Janna was good and friendly, unfortunately she could not carry team.
