I have a bunch of IP from not spending any ever. I'm considering a new champ and Quinn looks neat/interesting.
But then...there's Draaaaaaven. What should I do?
Come to think of it I did the exact same thing last season. Waiting until the last few hours of the extended deadline before saying "actually damn no I might really want this" and started grinding.
Just considering that maybe Thresh isn't worth the ban anymore, 18 armor Sona walks into every hook, NOPE. And two games in a row Nasus has gotten absurdly fed against who I thought would counter him (Udyr and Elise), seems balanced. But hey, at least I didn't end the season at Bronze I 0 LP where I was placed, I got demoted to Bronze II!
Riot seriously needs to do something about the demotion message, it just pisses me off even more. It should be something more like this

I will point out that I love Draven but Draven. I don't want to knock Quinn for anything since I have no issue with her it's just that Draven is fucking awesome. I'd wait until you have the option to try out both champs a few times while on free week if you're really undecided but if you find yourself having more fun with Quinn then by all means get Quinn.
Since the point of the game is, ultimately, to enjoy yourself.
Tried Quinn in dominion and fed uncontrollably. 0/10 in a bad stomping. Now I doubt she's a great champ for dominion, but it was depressing. Almost as depressing as a masquerade Eve who murdered everyone's face in.
I then played Leona, did much better, but ended up rotating bot again, which didn't seem to work out.
Highlights: these were my 7th and 8th games, respectively. The next lowest in the match was 250 wins. The highest was near 1200 wins. Makes sense to me...
Yea, in dominion if you're even remotely good you can end up playing against Talith or Sauron with a low but still decent probability. Which is like randomly running into WildTurtle or Faker.
As season 3 draws to a close, I find myself looking back and being totally confused about how I managed to get an 80% win rate with Soraka.
Despite being by far my worst two roles, I have an absurdly good win rate as jungle and support this season. I haven't had to do either very often but early on I was finding myself supporting fairly often and jungling a handful of times. I think that I won every game I jungled this year and only lost two of around eight to ten support games and for some reason one of those losses I was Lulu.
Which is strange because I've never played Lulu in a game before, it seems like someone mucked up a trade with me or something I really don't know.

I was 5-1 with Taric until tonight. That's not really a lot of games, I didn't play a lot of games with any one champion, but still. Gems hold their edge.

Do you want to be super fucking manly and kill nerds in lane but occasionally die going for the champions little fun bonus damage mechanic or do you want to be Draven?

Are you repeating yourself? Because I already got Draven and then played a bot match (do it just for my first win for IP most days) and it's ridiculously fun playing League of Draven.
Now I guess I may need to look at lifesteal quints? Or no?

I would agree with your statement on manliness on one of two terms: Hydra is built for hero mode ultimates or if you were permanently Valor.

Thresh isn't worth the ban anymore because you pick Sivir into Thresh and then laugh and laugh and laugh when he tries to hook you and instead gives you free mana.

It depends: If you're against someone you're going to trade a lot with lifesteal is best. But if you're not going to trade the extra damage/hit from AD quints is really strong and so you only need one.

In general though, why take anyone but fiddle, zyra or sona in the botlane atm.
And if the S4 changes turn out to be as overtuned as they seem support goldwise, take a strong early duelist and win before gold comes into play. And then get strong anyway if you pick someone who scales well too.
Been a while since I played, so not sure who would fit well in that role. Perhaps riven, although she really wants levels. Renekton I guess, he just needs level 2 to be strong, and at level 3 he is incredibly good at dueling and fighting in general. Not sure how the regular supports are supposed to stand up to this, as the general strategy against something like this is turtle hardcore and wait for level 8-9 or so, when the lack of gold comes into play.

Mantheon. Autocrits, long range harass, stuns and passive that stops counterharass and enables dives

Because if you see Sona or Fiddles, you can take Leona and laugh all the way to the bank.
I have only played support Vi a couple of times, but she is pretty good against non-bursty ADCs. Get in, Deal your burst, get out, take no damage because blast shield. Rinse and repeat until they are low enough to dive. Once you are 6, welcome to Murdertown.

Sona, sure. She is the only matchup leona is good in though.
Fiddle can just say nope with fear+silence the moment you initiate on him, not sure leona can reliably win those trades the same way she does with sona unless he mispositions terribly
Leona will be an interesting case come s4 though, since playing her with gold is amazingly fun and effective. Just not sure she can live trough levels 1-2 from stronger bruisers safely.

Because he can't stop her E, and her Q is pre-primed and will go off when she lands. Her W will already be up. All his fear/silence will do is.. uh, stop her from auto attacking I guess? Everything she does is so front loaded she can drop it on fiddles. Her W means his normally really annoying harrass barely hurts, too.
also until his stun is annoyingly long, she can easily knock him out of his drain so thats always a plus.
Leona doesn't E in to kill someone, she Es in to stop someone from running away while someone else kills them. she just happens to keep them paralyzed and primed for a good long time to make it easy.

Win lane; Win Game
Soraka plus a lane bully wins lane. Just don't let it get lategame because you're worse than Sona.
I thought they were gonna keep their big event close by in LA every year. I'm glad that they're doing this, though.

Might get some movespeed runes and make a page for him.
Soraka with AP might be scary. Oh who am I kidding, she's annoying enough as is, give her items and we'll once more have Soraka, the Living Fountain.
And it will be glorious.
