Edit 74: I hope they've modeled in the physics engine what happens when open wheel racers hit tires. :D

I, too, would like to do my best Dan Wheldon impression

    Nice touch bast.

Too bad we couldn't get a speedo in the replay.

Oh hai baseball is finally over so I will be there tonight. Expect my car to be festooned with Red Sox logos.

EDIT: Or I would have been around if I had read properly and seen that the race was at 9 and not 10

So I, err, uh, forgot there were races last night. When I got bast's invite it was 11:30 and I assume it was to play cat and mouse.

That one actually was for cat and mouse, the 3 previous invites were for the race :p

Fucking fantastic races on Catalunya last night.

But can someone explain to me how the races at Road America & Sebring, 2 of the longest and widest tracks in the game, were the ones that became complete trainwrecks?

Sorry about bailing on Sebring, but since that was the fourth race in a row I've been doing well only to get utterly destroyed while the guy who destroyed me got away free and clear I was past my frustration limit. On top of that, the proposition of running 20 minutes of hot laps in a broken version of a car that isn't fun to drive undamaged (not that I would know, my aero being destroyed every single race) wasn't exactly appealing. There's a limit to my willingness to play punching bag.

Hopefully 'ring, with the roll-off delay, will be clean better.

That was basically Catalunya for me as well. I spent half the race getting repeatedly smashed or forced to brake in the middle of high speed areas because people around me were being reckless, and then I just kept losing position after position because my car was super uncompetitive.
You shouldn't have let me pass on on the last corner since you deserved to be ahead.

For Sebring you have at least two to three long straights followed by lowish speed 90+ degree corners. Most of the fucking up that I saw happened in those braking zones.

Eh, I knew some of your problems were caused by me pulling wide earlier in the race to try and give Bast room to pass so he'd stop destroying my aero, so I didn't feel right pushing it in that corner.

I'm loving the idle animations on the hands though. Really nice touch.

Posting those to the OP. Selling more XBOs.

Also now frothing at the mouth and feeling the new console excitment growing.

I mean, they made an oval look exciting!

It also appears the Atom is going to be a handful.

Well on one hand they had assists on like a pussy and on the other they were scatman-driving with a controller (full on or full off) the throttle/brakes/steering.

True. The (I assume Automatic) gear change timing was driving me batty. There are lights on the steering wheel for gods sake, stop burying it in the redline!

So I noticed a small bug in this video. In the outside view of the car the right mirror is reflecting the rumble strips from the left side of the course and vice versa. THE PROGRAMMERS ARE TERRIBLE DON'T BUY THE GAME. :)

I was pretty sure it was in manual since they spent a good portion of sebring's back straight in 5th gear at not-nearly-enough RPMs. Even auto would have jumped that up.

Funny how the tracks look totally different though. I hope Hockenheimring is back.

I would assume, but probably close to the actual release.

Ya Marina was just confirmed in Top Gear magazine, along with the fact that (the) LaFerrari will be one of the first DLC cars.

That's the one everyone was bitching about because it's a lot of angled curves, right? I have a feeling I'll like that one more than a lot of you, but we'll see once the game is out.

People are complaining because its boring to spectate a race there which means fuckall when you're actually behjnd the wheel.

    Huh, that course looks neat.

I do hope there's a list of everything soon, really curious if they're going to add in more long tracks like Fujimi.

Next Wednesday sounds like the point the embargo on info lifts, so that's the point we should have full car and track lists.

It's also boring from a driving standpoint because all the turns are low-speed and do not have any rhythm or flow to them. It's very start-stop-y and just as boring to drive as it is to watch.

But it's still better than Motegi. Anything is better than Motegi. Also the unfortunate addition of Abby Dabby is easily balanced out by Spa, Bathurst and Long Beach.

You know, I'm pretty much a hipster just by volume of things I dislike. TV, movies, music, games, and a lot more - I've long ago accepted that I have a different standard and that I know most people won't relate to my viewpoint or tastes.
So I hope you don't mind if I judge it for myself, because I think you're the only person I've talked to who seems to dislike more things than me. :p<3

No, Knight hates everything, Cube just has a strong opinion about everything.

Everything is either the best thing ever or literally hitler.

I dunno. Knight doesn't usually have strong elaborations of why he hates something. He'll just state it and move on (or whine, or whatever).
Cube seems more like me where he'll go into detail about what he doesn't like about it. There is a passion rather than merely "It's dumb".

I over-analyze every single thing I come across in life so of course I'll have a strong opinion about everything. I guess it's better than being apathetic. And in my defense, it means that the things I like, I like a whole lot.

Admittedly in hood view you can see reflections of the car in front of you as well as the number above their car. The mirrors also seem to work fine in other views. So it looks like this specific reflection oversight just pertains to side mirrors in 3rd person view.

Quite an odd bug really. I wonder if that'll get fixed.
