They posted the FM6 Achievments very, very briefly before yanking them back down. Of course, since this is the internet, that means it's alright.
...snip...
The biggest thing, and likely the reason it was pulled, was there are 3 unannounced cars in there. Namely:
2014 BAC Mono (So the Horizon 2 rumors were off by a game)
2015 Lotus E23 (2015 F1 Car)
2015 Ford #17 XBox Racing Ford Falcon FG X (V8 Supercar)
So is the BAC Mono going to be as undrivable as the KTM and Caterham?
Two cars that are newer versions of cars that exist in FM5 is not that big of an announcement, IMO.

Hey @Jazz you can drop that silly F1 2015 arcade game and come get your F1 fix in a real sim, now.
Ooh, with one whole car! I seem to recall Forza 5 had the 2013 Lotus in it too. Which was a better car, too...
There may be more.
Probably the McClaren because we don't deserve nice things
Or maybe the Marussia if God hates us
There can't be. Codemasters holds the F1 video game license which only allows other games to have a single F1 car in them. Same reason 5 only had the 2013 Lotus.

As long as I still get my E21. Silly farty E23 is yawn. also all f1 cars in forza will be lotus because ms sponsors them.
More V8 supercars is good though.
edit: also the caterham and xbow are both incredible cars, so shrug. i don't drive the xbow because it's almost a cheater car, at least the caterham is super dangerous for how fast it is. the xbow is almost as fast and 500% more stable.

No, Porsche isn't/won't be in Forza 5. Porsche will be a DLC for Forza 6 in 2016, and probably will include a lot of cars and be a larger "expansion pack."

2015 Ford #17 Xbox Racing Ford Falcon FG X
2015 Honda #15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing IndyCar
2015 Lotus E23
2015 Nissan IDx NISMO
A muscle car focus, but there are some in there I'm very happy about, namely the 8V and the Fulvia. The IDx NISMO should be a much more enjoyable fit in Motorsport than Horizon. There is enough variety in the SUV/Large Vehicles making the trip from H2 that we could actually probably put on some "Fun" fields with them. The #18 787B means both paint jobs are in the game. Wonder if the MG Metro will be more controllable on track than in Horizon 2...

I'm actually surprised I was right about the 787B. <_<
Otherwise, some pretty interesting bits in there, yeah. I definitely found my eyebrows raised when I saw they were bringing over the rally fighter. Like, if there was one vehicle from Horizon that didn't belong in Motorsport, that would have been my pick. :P
The Charger Daytona coming to FM6 is nice. I wonder if we'll see a Superbird in DLC at some point.
I like the Rally Fighter and the IDx making the jump as well.
Assume we're not getting a modern C7 GTE car if it didn't get in the last two updates, which is sad. I'd really like an updated V8 Vantage GTE and C7 GTE.
EDIT: Aaaand now I'm less sure about the 787B thing being twice. I swear it was announced before, but I can't find it in the list outside of the #18. I don't know. Either way, if it's just the #18 default, I'm sure the Renown livery will be up instantly.

Okay, yup, you got me there. I had mentally erased those from existence.
I feel like I should stop playing F5 and just play Horizon or something
From the nebulous opinions of those familiar with the series who have played the demo builds (at E3 or GAMESCOM), FM6 feels, and I'm quoting here, "Somewhere Between FM5 and FH2". Supposedly, (again, hearsay) some of the fixes to mechanical grip/less-prone-to-understeer-ness you can feel in H2 (which was a complaint leveled at FM5) have made it back to the Motorsport side.
In other words, we all get to be horrible again on day one of FM6, no matter which we play in the meantime. Also Knight and anyone else at PAX who plays the demo has their racing-excuse for faceplanting into the wall.

i died so hard in the P1 on laguna seca at prime 2014. it was sad. did a full 360 into a wall on the andretti hairpin and it only got worse from there. so when i race rio and don't even know the track, it'll be a real adventure.
though, i never felt the handling model in H2 was much other than turbo grip super arcade racing, so it's surprising to me that they're trying to make the motorsport series more like that.

The fuck? They talk about FM being an awesome sim; why would they move it more towards FH2 physics? Whatshisface spends so much time talking about modeling tires accurately. Why would he do that if they are just going to arcade-ify it?

He specifically called out what they're supposedly trying to improve. It feels like that is being glossed over in favor of knee-jerk "WHY LESS SIM!?" reactions.
Is that in one of the videos posted in this thread or somewhere else? (I haven't watched those videos posted earlier)
Or is there a detailed explanation somewhere? I'm all for non-sound bite explanations.

I understood it to be feedback of people who had played the demo builds available at conventions.
I understood it to be feedback of people who had played the demo builds available at conventions.
This. Those lines are mainly floating around in various Forza/Racing focused youtubers' videos as a general consensus. And it's not "arcadifying"/Going Full Horizon, it's (again, from the floating consensus that I've gathered from watching too many FM6 videos) improving the sim with some of the lessons learned in Horizon 2. I should also say that that consensus is a positive one, even from the super-yay-sim-boo-arcade guys. They're saying it feels like a better sim and pointing out that, underneath the arcade-physics, some of the actual sim-physics in Horizon 2 are better than in FM5, which I agree with actually. Easiest way to feel this is to go into Horizon 2, take a car (preferably one that's also in FM5), set it up and tune it as if it was in FM5, then go do a race/laps as if you were trying to set a clean time on one of the better/more restrictive road courses (there's a good layout in Sisteron for that). I always felt it had a better, slightly more "consistent/predictable" feel than FM5, personally.
I'll see if I can find which video had the youtuber talking about it.
EDIT:
Be warned, very Youtuber. It isn't the only place I've seen people who played it talk about it in the same way, but it's the first one I found. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrnp6n9pgfY

Speaking of, was there ever any sort of comprehensive pre order bonus list? I couldn't find anything outside of the "preorder on ms store and get 3 FH2 car packs" one.
Are there no pre order bonuses? that seems unlikely.
edit: though, thinking about it, it doesn't really matter since i'm going to end up with the ultimate edition for the season pass and that 5 day early access, and iirc that's only digital on the xbox right?

For digital pre-orders, it's:
2015 Mazda MX-5 with Team Forza livery (which is already downloadable)
For disc, they're different depending on where you pre-order:
(Courtesy of ManteoMax)
2015 Audi TTS Coupé with Team Forza livery (disc edition pre-orders only)
US - Target (not sure on this one)
CA - EB Games (with Dodge)
FR - Micromania (plus FM6 logo keychain)
GER - Gamestop (plus FM6 logo baseball cap)
2015 BMW M4 Coupe with Team Forza livery (disc edition pre-orders only)
US - Best Buy
CA - Best Buy
2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with Team Forza livery (disc edition pre-orders only)
US - Gamestop
CA - EB Games (with Audi)
UK - GAME (plus FM6 logo tshirt)
AUS - EB Games
2015 Ford Mustang GT with Team Forza livery (disc edition pre-orders only)
US - Microsoft Store
CA - Microsoft Store
GER - Amazon
FRA - Amazon
ITA - Amazon
2015 Subaru WRX STI with Team Forza livery (disc edition pre-orders only)
US - Amazon
CA - Amazon
UK - ShopTo
All of them are just a special livery and free in your garage, I assume pre-tuned. The base version of all of them are still available to everyone.
Also, it seems like, at least for some, preload is sort of available. My Ultimate Edition currently shows 44GB on the Manage screen, but it's odd as I'm not entirely sure it actually downloaded that.
Oh really? it's just liveries this time around? I'll just buy the ultimate ed when i get back from pax then, f that. Can't believe we're less than a month away from new forza already.

I'm not sure I feel the same thing in FH2. I felt like cars were easier/more consistent because you needed way less throttle control. I can't really grok the concept of being able to feel a better physics engine underneath arcade style driving.
Since this is all heresay I'm still really excited to see what it is like.

We're All About To Have A New Job
For those unable to check the link, Turn10 will be sharing with Ford the telemetry data from players driving (specifically) the new Ford GT on Le Mans, making all of us Ford Test Drivers in the lead up to Ford's return to Le Mans.
Also, through the Basically-Works-For-Turn10 guy who runs Forza Central, it's confirmed that, out of the cars left to announce, over 50 will be "New To Forza", whatever that means.
does this mean we'll get the GTLM Ford GT? If so, yes plz.
They've said not at launch, but it will show up as (possibly free) DLC around January. Basically, they have to wait until Ford actually finalizes the car.
