Get one anyway. They're great for soloing. I stopped running my old solo build in favor of a scenario one. The scenario one, even though primarily AoE, is still better at single target than the old Wolverine build I had.

You guys mind sharing your builds? I'll put them in the OP.

Fun little tidbit I read about: Aux weapons seem useless versus AEGIS-shielded mobs 'coz they don't have controllers to convert their damage.

But Aux abilities with travel times (for example, Clusterstruck) can be affected by your controllers if you use an ability in between the Aux weapon's activation and its ability connecting.

To illustrate, you could do Clusterstruck > Striker. Clusterstruck fires, Striker fires and hits, and then Clusterstruck hits. Because of the travel time, and the fact that you inserted a Striker in there, Clusterstruck's damage is now converted to whatever AEGIS controller you have on your shotgun.

Apparently the same is true of afflictions and ground DoT effects like manifestations or Dirty Tricks.

There's also now a lore map for Kaidan here.

Yeah, I pretty much stopped after getting platinum on nightmare solo.

    Actives:
    1. Forking Paths
    2. Clearing the Path
    3. Karma
    4. Wildcard - Chaotic Pull or Surging Blades
    5. Helter Skelter
    6. Discord Rising
7 - Elite. Wildcard - Black Hole or Whatever. Black Hole works on mobs with their AEGIS still up.

    Passives:
    1 - Elite. Cool, Calm, & Collected
    2. Breakdown
    3. 12 Gouge
    4. Leeching Frenzy
    5. Shoot 'Em Up
    6. Immortal Spirit
    7. Wildcard - Elemental Force

Rotation is 2x Forking Paths, Karma, Clearing the Path, adjusted for however much AEGIS stuff you need to do. This one's built around 400-800 Block with a Signet of Order, an Ablation, and a Thirst. You could change the relevant passives/signets to Defence/Evade, depending on your gear. Oh, and you'll want one healing major (about 700 HR).

I haven't worked out my Aegis build yet. I'm currently using my normal solo build, which is just my NM DPS build with one health major, but I chucked on a second builder so I can build with either weapon. It works great in every other zone, but Aegis makes them take too long to kill, which means I lose a fair chunk of health every time.

See I'm still working on building up my stock of signets to have enough blue to slot (purple signets? what are those?) If I have empty slots is this kind of thing still going to be viable?

I am getting back into this. For whatever reason, hit a brick wall in carpathian fangs and can't seem to solo my way through the content (nor do i enjoy soloing my way through content). Does anybody mind helping me out at their convenience?

Where'd you hit the wall, exactly? If you go back and do Issues 5 and 6 that might help level you up a bit, assuming you've got those.

I'm getting back into it as well. It's kind of sad how quiet things are. The game is so nice, I wish there were more people. I just got to the Sympathy for the Devil dungeon in egypt.

Tried out that build you posted @Antithesis it isn't bad but I'm used to more healing, be it active or passive, from my other builds.

Got to Kaidan and they rolled over my standard solo chaos blade build. Hard to self heal if you're dealing almost no damage, so I was dying about the time the shields went down. I am at work so I'm not sure this is exactly my build, but it's close.

Basically it's built around 2 x Bamboo Cutter, CtP, Exquisite Corpse, repeat with Martial Discipline and Art of War as oh shit buttons. Two open active slots that I haven't really settled on (I built this in about 10 minutes, discovered the core worked well and then had to log for the night) and passives that are just a first guess.

Anyone have a sec to critique or suggest possible ways to tweak this?

Leeching Frenzy does you no good until their shields are down, and by then it might be too late.

Rely instead on stuff that doesn't require damage- like Circulation, or Advantage Me (if you crit a lot) or Immortal Spirit (if you penetrate a lot).

Anything that helps you be mobile is a plus- a lot of mobs have AOE's that hinder or impair you (and the Tokyo spectres have annoyingly giant-sized AOE's).

Thanks, I willsub back in immortal spirit then and see how it performs. Constant pens from clearing the path should help. When I dropped in exquisite corpse that seemed to solve the dying problem, but yeah LF is borderline useless thanks to shields.

I fired this up again too...couldn't recall how to play (I was in later Transylvania when I stopped in the original release) so I started a new character. A Templar this time, just to try something new. I forgot how great this game is, especially story-wise. I really like having only a handful of NPCs. It's nice because I remember their names, their history, what they are about, etc. That's rare for an mmo.

Not many MMOs where you can just talk to the NPCs and find out more about them. Stuff that doesn't have relevance to the quests directly, but fleshes out the world and the characters.

Absolutely. Single quest givers in zones you never ever, go back to such as the old lady in the Franklin mansion have better writing and characterisation than any other MMO out there (or indeed most single player games).

Secret World does many things wrong, but the things it does right - storytelling, writing, atmosphere and lore, it does better than any other MMO by such a long distance it isn't true.

Awww man, I made an awesome (imo) Agartha map when the game came out and I seem to have lost it and can't find where I posted it previously in the old threads. I mean, there's plenty of maps now but I spent a lot of time making it scaled accurately. Alas.

No idea. However looking at the PvP map (default "P") gives you a basic idea of what's expected in each map.

Also, being on Testlive, you can gear up your character to purples and stuff, too.

I purchased the Ballistic Veil account-wide on my main, then tried to get it on my female alt.

    Guess what?

It's only account-wide for characters of the same gender.

I informed them that they should put that shit in the goddamn Store FAQ.

And male and female versions of the same outfit do count as separate outfits for this purpose.

I think you may be able to send a ticket in and get a refund of the difference (price for account-wide minus price for one character), though you'll have to explain why you didn't see/read that warning that Rose linked.
