So I started a new run this morning but I don't think I have EW. It shows up in my list of DLC, but the tutorial is the same as always, and I'm not seeing the grenade shading. How do I force Steam to download it? Verifying the files didn't do it.

I am concerned about that first part. Don't want the game to be all about stompy robots.
To be fair, I'm only playing on normal, cause I'm bad at videogame. But Mecs need decent support. They're there to take out the big stompy things, but I have a feeling they melt if they're alone, fighting more than one or two enemies. You need people to support the mec, because the mec cant take cover, so is going to get shot. A lot.

Same. Going to genetically modify my soldiers into mankind's finest warriors. Those mechanical limbs just seem so...crude.

If you got a code of GMG, try verifying your game cache. If it doesn't say that 5000+ files failed verification and starts downloading a 7 GB patch, quit steam entirely, wait a little, then boot steam up and try verifying again. It didn't work when I went to bed last night but it's working for me now... alllllmost done downloading.
EDIT: If it worked, you'll get a pop-up to select playing EU or EW.
On PC slingshot can be seen around for close to $1.50. Then get it. New armor and hats are worth it. You can't customize shen's armor or color (at least before EW?) which is butts but screw him right (and stupid game design)?
EDIT: From those who bought from Gamefly, I completely reinstalled and when I went to do that the size was 20-ish gigs, which is correct. I won't be able to play today (probably) because Life but it should work, as when it didn't last night it was 13 gigs in size. So I'm just trusting itll work. Can't confirm yet.
Also every time control of the camera is taken away from the player I get a white hot flash of anger in me where I basically black out. I then come-to and bradbutts or the VIP has stopped talking. It works out actually.

There is no good reason why. Not even one. Can't customize his face? I get that! Can't give him a helmet? Sure, whatever. But you don't let me color his armor or change the deco? They must've coded themselves into a corner with him. No good reason otherwise.

Alright, I'm getting conflicting information: Does EW come with the Slingshot DLC included or do you still have to buy that separately if you want it?
Console EW comes with all DLC since its a standalone repackage affair. PC EW lays on top of EU and does not come with other DLC. It's $10 cheaper on PC though so you're still winning because Slingshot can sometimes be found for around $2 on PC.

Sorry, this is a pet peeve. I've modded New Vegas and have since stopped for personal reasons but never asked for monetary motivation. That's just bad mod form. I feel bad I haven't kept up with my vegas mods, I see comments asking for updates but I've posted that I don't even have NV installed anymore! It happens. It's ok to move on from a game. Just don't go to this bad place.
