That little stand that the camera comes with is pretty rad. It latched on to my monitor perfectly. And on a related note, the gamestop dude said that 95% of all the PS4 buyers since last night have also picked up the camera. That's a crazy high attach rate.

Now I'm curious on what the final camera attach rate is going to be for PS4 owners. Because if Sony somehow ends up with deep camera penetration despite it not being a pack-in, both earning the goodwill of gamers and making it comparably common to the Kinect, that would be pretty genius.
BTW, I typed out "deep camera penetration," though "hell I better delete that," then though "no...no it stays."

I'm going to have the wonderful first world problem of working out where to put Kinect and the PS4 camera. I guess I'll use Kinect more so it could go on top of my TV (bye bye Wii U sensor bar) and then the PS4 one can go underneath but then what if Playroom needs to see the floor?? Anyone any idea on whether the PS4 camera would sit neatly on top of Kinect?

Well this fucking sucks. Can't do anything but boot into Safe Mode. PS4 is stuck with the blue strip. I. God damn.

Maybe same. PS4 froze on me while Warframe was in the background and I was on the XMB. Had to do a hard reset. I get the blue light (because the PS4 wants to turn on automatically when you plug it in), but no signal.

Try unplugging everything, INCLUDING the TV, and plugging everything back in. Or at the very least, turn the tv off completely and turn it back on and see if it fixes it. This is the case if you're on 1.5 and the problem is HDCP.

Probably would. Kinect doesn't move this go round, uses wider angled lenses to compensate, so shouldn't have any problem sticking the small PS4 camera on top, that's my camera endgame assuming the PS4 camera proves it's worth.

Does the PS4 require HDCP connections? I may have to buy a new monitor if that is the case.

Do you have an older TV? I've heard this is more of a problem with older TVs not being able to handshake properly. In general, people have fixed it by restarting the TV at least. Coworker also confirmed he's had to do this occasionally on his PS3.

I think so. Or at least, I've heard that's what's preventing people from being able to record game footage and upload to Youtube.

Use an adapter that let's you plug Ethernet through your wall outlet. I use it for mine, and while it's not perfect it is WAY better than wifi.

    And no drilling required ;)

I had a similar thing occur to me while downloading Warframe (the in-app download, not the day 1 patch). It froze, then I had to power off. I had to power cycle my system. AFAIK (I'm not completely sure), the Warframe app has a download cache that preserves some of the download even after it freezes. And yes, I had to reboot my TV and my PS4 when this occurred. It happened occasionally with my PS3, so I knew it was probably going to be an issue with the PS4. Warframe runs great, by the way, and I ended up playing it with no issues, after freezing twice in a row on the initial in-app download screen with the patch/update notes.

I will add to that that I tried plugging mine in into a powers trip that has the signal cleanup built in and it wouldn't work with that, so YMMV. Worse case scenario is you have to run a slightly longer Ethernet cable to your next available outlet.

While Sony are saying it's just 0.4% failure rate, I'm super nervous because I have the worst luck with electronics. If it can break, it will. If there's some potential manufacturing issue, I'll get that one faulty unit.

There is some good news for people with display errors, at least. Apparently a metal piece on the HDMI port isn't flush, so by pushing it down you can fix that error.

Which has not actually been attempted by anyone but Sony. However, there is another piece of good news. Some display errors are caused by the HDCP handshake with the TV, so completely restarting the TV (and maybe the PS4) may actually fix it.

This MAY or may not also stop being a problem once they disable HDCP for games, which I think may be the same time we can start uploading to Youtube.

@bss Nice streaming today, I liked watching the Resogun action

Haha, thanks! Thanks to everyone that showed up. My Killzone was super bad, as expected.

Twitch streaming was pretty cool, but I think I'd rather use my streaming PC for serious stuff. But like I was lamenting, my PC's downstairs and my PS4 is upstairs. But still, for people who haven't put hundreds of dollars into such a thing, the Twitch streaming is a great feature. And still, really, it's pretty good.

As far as I know, my stream was solid aside from when I switched games.

Impressed so far, but I'm dying of hunger so I'm watching Giant Bomb's PS4 stream while putting a pizza in the oven. Think I'm going to try out Remote Play exclusively, from downstairs, when I'm done.

Sorry to hear not everyone's having good luck today. I am scorning my unused consoles in some kind of technoeffigy.

Has anyone tried watching a stream from the PS4 yet? I noticed in my activity feed that someone else was broadcasting, but they were done by the time I saw it.

Anyone else having issues with twitch staying connected?

As far as I know, my stream was solid aside from when I switched games.

Impressed so far, but I'm dying of hunger so I'm watching Giant Bomb's PS4 stream while putting a pizza in the oven. Think I'm going to try out Remote Play exclusively, from downstairs, when I'm done.

Sorry to hear not everyone's having good luck today. I am scorning my unused consoles in some kind of technoeffigy.

Thanks for the heads up, one question though... We're you downloading anything in the background at the time?

I am logged in but it glitched when asking me about my name so now my real name is displayed. I am also unable to access my profile or privacy settings so I can not disable that. I'm not sure I care?

I'm pretty sure some/most of Resogun still had Warframe and Contrast downloading. Should have been for a little while, anyway.

On that note, anyone, when you download Warframe and Contrast, you get two downloads in your queue, one much smaller than the other. Is that it splitting up the necessary and complete portions of the game?

Oh yeah, whoever it was that asked about one of these?

I was told it was incompatible when I powered it on. :(

    Me :(

Now I'm curious what quality audio you get out of the Dualshock 4's jack. If I go buy a 7.1 surround sound headset with a standard audio jack, will I get 7.1 quality? Or is that not possible out of a standard audio jack?

I'm not really an audio guy, but I miss that headset terribly.
