Also, you can buy Phoenix Down at the shop. I thought that
Phoenix Down was a Final Fantasy thing
It was a fairly big deal that there's only a finite number in each game, so you had to be careful
I guess I was wrong on both counts.
thank you, ace attorney, for breaking my habit of spelling it "pheonix". now please teach me how to spell attorney on my first try

Elixer (full heal of everything but not revive) is the limited thing, usually. Sometimes also Ether or Hi-Ether (MP restore).
Yeah, Elixirs are the things that are only available in limited quantity and are super useful, which means you never use any of them cause "I might need them later!" so at the end of the game you'll have 87 of them.
In Bravely Default you can buy (Hi-)Ether at least.
Yeah, that's probably what I'm thinking of. Thanks.

What with copying all of these item names and mechanics from the Final Fantasy series, I certainly hope they don't get sued for... Oh, wait. Never mind.

I most certainly plan on buying Bravely Default, but first I have a big backlog pile that includes SMT4 and Rune Factory 4, so for me it's gonna be at least a few months. Doesn't help that on the Vita side of things I'm probably gonna grab Danganronpa next week :P

Nintendo should have just allowed the top and bottom covers to be easily replaceable, and they could have made bank on promoting an official Nintendo 3DS cover market.
I'm really bummed that they included it in the European CE..I fucking love the game's design and its music, so an artbook and a soundtrack would've been perfect. The statue basically doubled the game's price (the CE was selling for 90-100 €) and I wasn't sure that anyone on eBay would even want to buy it.
If I wanted to be analytical about it, the soundtrack would be up on Youtube, in addition to other... "unscrupulous" places. Ditto with the art book. And seeing that AR works even if it's a picture on a monitor, double ditto for those too.
That being said, $10 for actual physical AR cards seemed worth it to me. Doing it with a monitor just isn't the same.
edit: Actually I just walked in the door from picking the game up and can finally have a close look at it. The box itself is pretty bitchin' to boot.
The Wolfman on
"The sausage of Green Earth explodes with flavor like the cannon of culinary delight."
$10 for cards, soundtrack, art book, and really nice packaging is a steal. I'm super impressed with the quality, which makes the lolworthy figure the rest of the world got even more mind-boggling.
I think if it had come with a figure I'd have passed on the CE. I agree that 10 bucks for what you get in the North American CE feels like a real sweet spot between price/package.

? Special edition 3DSes have been coming out all the time.
They have? Stupid aging brain. Never mind, then.
Last year we got Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Mario & Luigi Dream Team, Pokemon and Zelda ones, as far as I can remember.
Oh ewwwww. It's not an XL.
hmmmm I feel the increasing urge to spend money...

XL was Europe only.
It's so pretty though. I still slightly kick myself for not grabbing one when NewEgg had 'em.

I'd post this in the Bravely Default thread but I'm avoiding it until I get the game.

But then I saw that picture. Yeesh...
