To me the new zelda just scratched every itch I have re: zelda games while also not wasting any time. it's not my favorite zelda per se, but it feels 'perfect' in a certain way.

I've got Bravely Default already, just haven't had time to play it.

It's really hard for me - Zelda is probably the technically better game, but I enjoyed Luigi's Mansion more in terms of fun and personality. They are both great games though - you really can't go wrong.

I'm tempted to recommend EO as well, but it's worth noting that Atlus has shown a willingness to put their games on sale. One will eventually be able to pick up EO at a lower price, whereas Zelda will be $40 until the end of time.

That's a good point. If it's not on sale, you can probably wait a month or two and at least a couple of their games will randomly drop to $20-$30.

New Zelda really shines if you played and loved SNES Zelda. I'm taking it pretty slow, but I heard it's not super long even if it's really fun and every time I play I get that classic SNES era feeling. I don't even know if it's on the eShop, but Rune Factory 4 is a pretty solid little Harvest Moon RPG / Zelda looking game where you can romance the entire town or something.

There's a 50/50 shot that your CE will be shipped in a bubble mailer and smashed to bits.

Amazon's been sending out the CEs in shitty bubble mailers and there are a lot of complaints about crushed packages. Mine was hit with this too. Amazon seems to think that since they don't have replacements, that must mean I want a full refund. Now I have to follow up with them to tell them that no, I don't want to do a full RMA and no, I'd rather not follow the Amazon rep's suggestion and pay double what I paid to get it from a third party reseller to get it in the condition I should have gotten it in the first place.

So, can anyone guess what Sega Genesis games I'd buy if released in the same way as Sonic?

If you guessed all of them, you'd be correct. Goddamn Sonic looks great in the layered 3d they did. I would spend more money than is fiscally responsible if they started releasing more of these. I'm going to by all the ones they have out soon, but then what? Where is Ecco 2, Comix Zone, Chakan, Dynamite Headdy, etc, etc, etc?

  • DonnictonDonnicton Registered User regular

You don't even know what the art style is yet. That's generic promo animefluff that even the Rune Factories have in their intro videos. Let's hold off for some real gameplay screens.

So, I dropped my 3DS yesterday. It was still in it's little carrying container thingie, but it seems like the game cartage and SD card got dislodged a bit and I had to push them back in.

My problem, though, is that now I seem to have lost all my puzzle pieces for anything past the basic puzzles. I can't even move over to those, it's like the game forgot I had them. Any thoughts on why that may be?

Power off, pull your SD card, replace SD card, power on. See if they're there.

If not, power off, plug your SD card into a computer and copy all of the contents to a folder, verify it copied them all. Delete SD card, copy contents back, and put it back in your 3DS. See if they are back.

Is Kid Icarus Uprising worth it as a downloaded game? It would be an extra $10 to get a physical copy with the stand. Apparently it's between printings right now.

The stand is worth it. I use it for every game I play, and it's a necessity for Kid Icarus.

Code of Princess, Etrian Odyssey IV, and Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers are all $20 until the 17th. Zelda is probably a safer choice, unless you already know you'd like any of those. Two for the price of one isn't bad, though...

Personally, I beat the game without even taking the stand out of its box. It seemed silly to me.

That said, I did so in a standard 3DS. Trying to play it in an XL has showed me that KIU is one of the few games that are best played in the smaller console.

Honestly it made me think of that anyway, with the ghost fighting minigame and other games. Adventures in the Magic Kingdom covered several minigame styles too.

I cannot believe how utterly long this game is. I'm liking it a lot, but they should have left at least a little on the cutting room floor. Definitely the longest game in the series.

The length is actually putting me off of it right now. I want to play it but I don't have the time right now to invest 40 hours into an RPG.
