Young sir or madam, I encourage you to examine the OP slightly more closely. I have no e-mail from you, no personal details, and no ability to have anyone send you anything other than their fondest virtual regards.

Hm, I sent an email yesterday, actually. No dice?

  • PeenPeen Registered User regular
Ohhhh, that was you. I just noticed your location and sig, you didn't use your PA name as the subject of the e-mail. I'll allow it but only because I'm nicer than Neville.

    Daily recipe:

Peanut butter chocolate chip bacon cookies

I make the best peanut butter cookies, years of testimonials prove this. But I welcome someone to make these and send them to me to try to prove me wrong.

I hope this means you'll be sending out twice as many cookies.

Gimme stuff. Please. And I don't just mean my Secret Satan.

I should be testing out a chocolate cookie with peanut butter chips soonish. I shall report back with my findings.

    Booooo

also @Belruel and anybody else that was waffling around, quit waffling and make waffles and stick them in an envelope

  • .. Registered User, ClubPA regular
Or, make an envelope out of a waffle (hereby known as a wafflope) and stuff cookies inside of it. What I am saying is, now I want waffles.
Peen, convince me to make Kringla this year.

Gimme stuff. Please. And I don't just mean my Secret Satan.
  • PeenPeen Registered User regular
There are so many reasons you should make Kringla this year.

    1. The word originates from the Old Norse kringla, meaning ring or circle, and by making them you are ceremonially binding yourself into our great forum circle. You join the unbroken chain of heroic bakers, determined to combat the winter darkness with the light of powdered sugar and flour.

    2. The shape of the kringle has given name to a similarly entangled feature found in some proteins, the so-called Kringle domain. Kringles are found throughout the blood clotting and fibrinolytic proteins. Kringle domains are believed to play a role in binding mediators (e.g., membranes, other proteins or phospholipids), and in the regulation of proteolytic activity. Your cookies will symbolically heal our wounds and provide us the vital energy needed to push through the daily grind.

    3. They are completely delicious and there is no better reason to bake and share a treat.

I'll look into how much shipping might cost me, and then decide if I can afford to sign up for treat sharing time.

Totally mathematically random, this is some quantum generated shit.

Ok not really but no, your person doesn't have you.

    Woo!
Now my first weekend in December is planned. Drunken dancing in the kitchen while baking deliciousness. If the Kringla come out all crooked (or in vulgar shapes), blame the alcohol.
And for the person who is baking for me, while this is not a deal-breaker, PLEASE do not make anything I am supposed to eat blue. (The color blue. I don't care if you tell it depressing stories.) I mean, if you do, I'll just sit in a darkened closet and eat them so I can't see it but really, I get looks when I eat in the closet.

Gimme stuff. Please. And I don't just mean my Secret Satan.
  • CowSharkCowShark Registered User regular
Why no blue food? Tell the group what is up.

  • CimmeriiCimmerii SpaceOperaGhost Registered User regular
I made chocolate cookies with peanut butter chips a while back, they turned out well, a little dry, nothing a few more tablespoons of shortening can't fix. The peanut butter chips did not smell super peanut buttery when baked though, they smelled a little odd. I might make them with chocolate chips if I send them.

RE: Blue- some food dyes contain ingredients people are allergic to, or that are irritants for other conditions. Reactions really vary, better safe then sorry.

Anyway this weekend I'm going to make Salted Pecan Pie Cookie Bars for a house party, and then the cookie baking season is going to hit big time because my cousins will be home and we have Elaborate Plans for my aunt and uncle's kitchen. I am excite.

We try not to have pork in the house because it's not kosher, so I guess that could be a thing if the person who has me is planning on doing maple bacon whatevers..

Anyone have any tips for wrapping up these packages for shipping so that they arrive as fresh as possible? I'm thinking Parchment paper wrapped in plastic wrap in a sturdy zip lock bag with all the air squeezed out.

    Just putting this out there.

If you were receiving hypothetical cookies, would you prefer hypothetical chocolate chip or hypothetical peanut butter cookies with a peanut butter cup? Hypothetical chocolate chocolate chip is also an option.

This may or may not influence what you get sent.

I don't see "all of the above" as one of the choices. There must be some mistake.
