I'm glad dear is out but I think I'm gonna have to reconsider whether maru can beat sos.
As it turns out, Terrans can't sit on nothing higher tech than medivac and beat a fully teched Protoss :P
yeah it's a shame he didn't do any damage to slow down the toss, or have a huge supply lead to make up for the lack of ghost tech

He had 2 Ghosts and didn't use them at all. Sorry dude, but he sat on low tech for a super long time :P

yeah, there's a really good reason for it too.
he had more than two ghosts but this is all beyond the point. it is extremely frustrating to me that a toss can play the way that they can play right now and win. even when their defensive style is not that solid, likesay allowing an army of mm up their ramp, losing 3-4 sentries in the early game. no worries, they can research storm and charge.
aggressive openings fail, it's okay you can fall back to MSC+overcharge.
overly greedy? it's okay because you have msc+overcharge
want to be SUPER aggressive? it's very strong because of timewarp on top of all the great aggressive abilities you've always had.
I am sorry it's taking so many toss so long to realize how abusive they can be, I think part of that issue is that MC and Rain are SO stylistic that they don't realize how much they can vary their play... when people like sos play you see oh, I can put you in a position where you can die without perfect play, and then be untouchable by the time you can counter (even if you were, indeed, untouched), and then slaughter you a few minutes later (even if you've done nothing but macro cleanly and throw units all over my bases that I deal with -okay-)
it doesn't look balanced to me, it pisses me off, and this is where we talk about that stuff.
yesterday bomber beat soulkey and there were wah mules posts. I rewatched and it's quite clear that all that happened was banes blew up on scvs, a counter ensued where the T army was way bigger, and T won. at least my complaints actually relate to what we're seeing.
there's a lack of understand that you can just 'get ghosts'. there's a lot of gas involved there which means less medivacs, which means less haras,, which EVERYONE would agree is a key to T beating P. it's just that somehow after 3 years p realized 4 zealots and a templar can pretty much deter any drop, especially considering you can warp in whatever you need as it's needed.
I don't hate the game, but I also hvaen't played in weeks because tvp annoys me so much. I'm not usually like that but whatever.
I also would never write a big whiny post like this (I much prefer sarcastic sniping!) but I feel the need to explain myself because you're right, I'm being less reasonable than usual. but I swear, there's a reason. I certainly could be dead wrong but if maru beats jd I'll be blown the fuck away if he takes the whole finals.
all of this understanding that not all toss are taking advantage of what they can do (duckdeok for example I think is over aggressive. which can work ((beat innovation)) but isn't ideal) and that some terran can get into the lategame a little more safely... but lategame is a terrifying place for the T.

I think he does team management stuff in general now as well. Dude is a good face for starcraft in general. That interview he did on Canadian TV was really good.
