Though I guess it means they sold through the Mario/Luigi bundle inventory, so that's something.
My nephew got some christmas money and has been looking around houston for a mario and luigi U bundle and apparently they're sold out all around towns. Interestingly enough, zelda bundles are in abundance, but he doesn't like wind waker.

All the faults of Majora's Mask (like, what, 5 dungeons?) without an interesting overworld to cover them up. And the dungeons are tiny, and much more linear than previous zelda games. Plus appalling filler like the stealth segment and the triforce hunt. And sailing is so lame.
LTTP and LA will always be the standards. Dungeon after dungeon after dungeon, minimal story, pure gameplay. I told my nephew that there are far better zelda games already on the WiiU, and he agrees. OoT isn't my favorite, but it is the best 3D zelda because it came closest to getting the formula that LTTP set right.
The over worlds in zelda games is usually my least favorite part of the games. The rare exception is something like MM where the overworld is like 75% of the game. The story is always my least favorite part - the more elaborate it is beyond "Link needs to collect the X number of Ys to unlock Ganon's final dungeon and save the day" the less I like it. It's the dungeons that I play zelda for. Give me the classic Zelda structure - 3 beginners dungeons, followed by a second set of harder dungeons for about 8-12 dungeons total.
WW falls so flat for skimping out on dungeons at the expense of the most boring overworld in the entire series.
@urahonky - how many dungeons does LBW have? Is its structure more like LTTP? I hated Minish Cap for the same reasons I hated WW.
Are you seriously counting crap like the fortress a dungeon? That's not a dungeon. Nobody would call the gerado village a dungeon in OoT. It has five dungeons. The dragons roost, the woods, the earth temple, the wind temple, and ganons tower.

...and the Tower of the Gods/Hyrule Castle (seriously) and the Forsaken Fortress both definitely count as dungeons. They're just not themed, and one of them is quite small
Pretty beefy, though not quite on level with Ocarina of Time I don't think. You'd probably hate it; it takes a very Metroid approach to content density, where you revisit previous areas and explore them in new ways as you acquire abilities. It's also a game where they very seriously blur the line between overworld and dungeon, in some places almost completely severing the overworld/underworld dichotomy established in the first game
The dungeons are enormous, though, and far and away the best 3D dungeons in the series.
Man, we Nintendo fans do not have enough friends in the gaming world these days that we can be throwing people under the bus for not liking the right Nintendo games. Anyone who has opinions on Zelda games outside of, "They're kiddie and stupid" are alright in my book. And Wind Waker aint perfect, y'all. Dat triforce quest. Ugh. Even truncated in the HD version, I hated every moment of it.

That doesn't sound too bad. Part of the reason I was able to enjoy mm was because the overworld was so dense and packed with puzzles that, in a way, it sort of felt like an enormous, world-spanning dungeon. I like the metroid progression system too, I much prefer metroid to Zelda overall.

The "kiddy" nature of ww was never my problem. I enjoy cel shaded graphics, and considering lttp is my favorite in the series, and link has pink hair in that, I don't play these games for machismo.
By all means give it a try, I guess. Just keep in mind that, even given that, it's more Zelda than Metroid.
And if/when you play: the motion controls expect you to make big, deliberate motions that use at least your whole forearm. Deliberate meaning not quite slow, but closer to slow than as fast as possible. Position slow, strike quickly. Do not set down the controller to calibrate; instead perform a few vertical slashes until Link's slashes are also vertical, which is just as effective, much faster, and doesn't stop you exploring
This is advice I wish the game communicated to people effectively, but it doesn't

Has anybody tried out using the Wii U gamepad as a Wii display?
The main reason I even wanted a Wii U was so I could play Wii games via a HDMI input, but unfortunately blown up Wii games two feet from my face don't exactly look good. I'm starting to think they would look better on the smaller pad.

Yeah, it's ok. Especially for games you can play with the CCP. I wanted to keep playing The Last Story when my wife was looking to watch some random junk on TV and I switched things over and shoved the gamepad into a squishy pillow on my lap that proved more comfy than setting it on a stand on my lap or on the armrest.
Played RE4 that way too and was similarly enthused. Don't think I'd advise it for something like Skyward Sword though. I have no idea how you could move right and see what the hell you were doing.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. The Last Story is the very game I've been playing, so I don't see there being any trouble with the CCP. I'll have to see how it is here and with Xenoblade.

I agree, but only with the amazing part.
To this day, A Link to the Past is still my favorite Zelda. But then again, I grew up on that bad boy.

I didn't hate TP. I enjoyed it far more than WW.
I actually really enjoyed Twilight Princess. Great story. Fantastic addition with Midna.
But the main overworld, blech. Very bland and lifeless.
But it was all made up by the awesome rest of the game.
