Push contacts from iCloud to iPhone - or something screwy with the contacts page-Solved!

Hi Folks

Woke up this morning and my contacts have been wiped from my phone. Not quite sure how this has happened. Went to restore from my backup on my PC, but my son interuppted me and I forgot to cancel the backup as I plugged it in, so of course my latest backup now has no contacts.

I've checked on the iCloud and they are all still there. I've gone into the icloud settings and the contacts button is definitely turned on, but they don't seem to be pushing back to my phone. Anyone got any ideas here?

Is that the only backup you have saved? When I go into device preferences on iTunes it shows me as having several backups (one from each time I've backed it up sans whichever ones I've actively deleted)

If not, then here is a thread in the apple support community that has a solution.

    It says:

If you had them backed up to iCloud, all you would need to do is log into iCloud on your device, enter email address and password, slide bar on contacts to the "on" position. Open contacts( give it about 1/2 a second and your contacts should import.

Settings<iCloud<<add email and password<<slide bar to on for contacts<<<open contacts

It wasn't the only backup I had, but the other ones were super old. A bit wierd because I thought it did more than just 1.

Yep I've done that. Further investigation is showing it may actually be something else entirely. I can't seem to add or edit new contacts in the contacts page.

So rebooting the phone has fixed it. Bizarre. Probably should have tried this first.
