I managed to secure a key from a German site after waking up super early (for me). Kinda getting old hunting keys every weekend but ah well. Just did the Salvage Rights Shiphand and it worked fine start to finish for me.
Okay. I got a weekend beta key from the rockpapershotgun site. I thought it was a normal beta key. Since it is limited, maybe someone here would like to give it a try.
Also, peeps, if you have beta keys and someone PMs you asking about it, check their profile and creation date.
I'm not telling you how to give out your keys, but just to make informed decisions. I've been seeing parallels between key giveaways and what happened a while back with the steam thread giveaways before it was brought under control.
Possibly even longer than 11, since there was that things in March '03 that forced everyone to re-register. Think it was a forum software change? Forget.

For those of you who do not frequent the bowels of the internet aka reddit, carbine posts have been showing a general difficulty holding back a certain bombshell of info apparently dropping soon. Someone (from carbine) recently responded to a post begging for open beta with an ample, yet taunting 'soon' only to edit it with a 'not this week though'.
If you are a conspiracy theorist, one could put together some of the pieces of the puzzle appearing lately and note that there is a strong possibility a pre-order beta access might be the announcement coming. Which as one should know, would equal a release date.
Please note how surely scooter remarked about a spring release in that livestream. More surely than we have had before now at least.

I had a feeling that might be the case as soon as we got the "there might be other ways to maintain beta access if you haven't reached 32" teaser from Carbine a while back. I wonder how it would be received?
depends if they are *really* ready for launch. You certainly don't want people to be playing your subscription based game for more than a month with a pre-order beta.
and even with all the shady ways to grift money from people that have entered the video games market over the last 4 years, charging a monthly subscription fee for a beta seems a bit sketch.
(And I came from MWO, where they were in in ''open beta'' for 7 months and started charging funbux prices at the beginning of open beta for premium time and mechs... still, you weren't *required* to pay a subscription fee month to month, if you didn't want to.)

Well I've said before that an April-May launch window seems like a safe assumption given the urgency of how they're moving things along lately. I'm leaning towards May.

Caydiem is currently in the process of adding the finishing touches to the Dominion capital city overhaul
Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it.
You're not going to see a piecemeal Dominion capital, I'm afraid; that's just not how the Dominion rolls. The architecture is always going to have a unifying theme. Now, naturally, the Dominion allows for some marginal cultural freedom in various outposts -- Feralplain Collective and Bloodfire Village are excellent examples of this in Deradune -- but for their main foothold on Nexus, it is going to scream Dominion, and that means Cassian architecture over all.
(They're also not going to allow lowborn to build ramshackle lean-tos and filth up the place. That's unsightly. They put them to work like the laborers they are.)
I'm aware that this ends up feeling rather same-y, particularly in contrast with Thayd which has a very thrown-together feel, but ultimately the capitals are designed to show the core of the faction, not the individual races. Thayd shows off the Exiles' slapdash style, each individual seeking to make their own mark; Illium is a significant contrast, because the Dominion strongly encourages uniformity under the single, solitary banner of the Emperor.
Illium has already largely gone through its revamp, and significant changes before launch are not in the cards. Now, there are some changes coming to Illium in the next couple patches that bring a bit more character into the buildings and separate out the districts a bit more, but you're always going to see that Cassian look in Illium, because ultimately that is what the city is about.
I should clarify. They haven't started yet. The giveaway doesn't start until 9PM PST/12PM EST
try to be there a little bit before though before Reddit and 4chan give the site a nice, server roasting hug.

ugn, saw 9700 keys left, click, error message replaces key thing, now it loads an error thing instead of keys when I reload the page. RIP alienware servers.
edit: right after posting that, I loaded and had a banner at the top saying I'm in a 60-minute queue and that I'll get an email telling me whether or not I got a code. So I guess we'll see!

If you got that message that means you got a key
Edit: 429 error is a sign your entry went through. give a few seconds and refresh. The mention of a 60 minute queue is actually referring to their mailer. If you get that blue box that means you got a key.
The Alienware servers seem to be getting destroyed harder than a Exile camp under orbital bombardment.
...
...mmm... happy times.
I think the cutest part of these giveaways is how surprised the distributors pretend to be when their servers get slamfucked "WHOA! it seems like people really want to play this game! So that's why they gave us 20,000 keys!"

Good luck you guys.
