i dunno why but these games that are just progress bars endlessly filling just hook me utter
This game used to be pretty bad because you wouldn't have a clue what made your successful games successful, but apparently they put in research reports or something so now you can find out why your game sold well (without having to sift through a wiki page).

I think that game would be more realistic if you had to sift through gamer review sights like RPS, and Reddit to find out why your game was good or bad. Maybe steam reviews and metric scores as well?

my UFO themed stratagy game is now up to installment number 6, but the last game made $30 million

i'm pretty sure that's what your guys are doing when you say "generate game report"
it's just you dont personally have to sift through fake news clippings and the process is represented by a progress bar

For those considering the current flash deal for Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, be aware that Origin is currently selling their Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection for $7.99 right now and it includes almost every single C&C game. I have to admit I am tempted to buy it even though it's Origin-only and I already have that Command & Conquer: The First Decade collection from a few years ago.
Someone should send a letter to Steam, so we can find the records of the gifts we've already given to someone.
I'm having a hard time remembering who I already sent a gift to, and I don't want people to think I am playing favorites.
There is also a way to look this up on Steam. Go to your Inventory, click More in the upper right and click View gift history.
Unfortunately it does not also show who gifted you what. You can see which games you own are gifts by going to your Wallet Balance (Community -> Market -> (upper right) Wallet Balance). However, for the who it's best to keep the emails.
I was getting pretty amped reading everyone's recommendations for budgeting in here and Mint being free and pretty is fantastic but then I saw that it's a service you sign up for and... submit and store all of your financial information on their servers? Isn't that scary or vulnerable? Or have I turned into my mother
I guess I could sign up with a dummy address and use codewords. I just don't want anyone to find out that 75% of my expenditures are dildos

Also Doom 3 BFG Edition for 5 bucks. I know some people like the modded version better, but that's a good price. Espicially considering you get Doom 1 and 2 as well if you don't already have those. Because once you have those you can play Brutal Doom.

Hey, might I acquire a US fellow to help me bulk buy some Rocksmith 1 DLC? It's about 25% cheaper for you guys, and I was planning on picking up a bunch so it'd stack up!
Alright, so, new desktop has arrived.
AND despite my fears of ebay, it is not in fact just a case full of packing peanuts.
Unfortunately I am now in the office, so I can't actually use it for another...4 hours.
But I ask you this, fellow Steamians: Given I now have a machine that will run things, which things should I get? I'm lured by Payday 2 (though I don't have a headset yet), but given there's a sale, if people have a recommendation of something I couldn't previously play, but now can...let me know. I suspect I've missed a fair few things.
It's not horrible. It would have been better if they had named it anything but Dungeon Siege 3, but it's still a decent game. The camera is a thing of evil and the gameplay gets a bit repetitive though. Still, if you can get it for a couple bucks, it's an acceptable diversion. It's apparently a lot better in co-op, but I've never played it that way.
On the flip side, since I check regularly, I ran into a case where some person had gotten my CC number and was using it to order vacuum cleaners and ship them to someplace in Ohio (no, I have no idea either). I was actually able to get it locked down while the charges were still pending, before the fraud alert section of my CC company caught it. So that's pretty great.
@MrVyngaard doesn't even want to give me a fighting chance, sending me an entire Humble Bundle's worth of 6 games.
Thank you!
Also, you've all increased my game library by 20%, which means you've increased my backlog by an even greater percentage. That's enough now. You can go and gift some others from here on out.
I remember a time when I thought it worked this way too. I was so young and innocent. Now I know...
Your protests will do nothing. This thread will grind you to chaff beneath the weight of its class. All that remains...is backlog.
Just picked up Paranautical Activity, Bunny Must Die!, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (for the Deleted Scenes) and Alpha Prime for $15.50. Not a bad deal if I do say so myself.

Oh no. I've been safely avoiding this sale because of my dead computer. But I just saw the scope of my potential wish list savings. I am afraid of what I will so when I have it back (finally) fixed tonight.
So much food. So much delicious food. I'm just starting to recover. What *almost* made my day is that I was finally able to correctly make a gravy from turkey drippings; all previous attempts have ended in tears, usually for those around me as I threw a temper tantrum as only an overgrown 3 year old could.
What *did* make my day, however, was being able to choose and announce a winner in the Papers, Please hand turkey giveaway contest!
Unfortunately, border tensions with Gabenstan escalated into open hostilities yesterday when Papers, Please was announced as a daily. Thankfully, our hardworking and patriotic border guards were able to keep casualties to a minimum.
On to announcing the winner, though!
But before that... honorable mention must go to @Berylline for her fantastic hand crafted entry:
However, she was re-routed out of my line and into another by a drive-by gifting yesterday, and thus unable to be processed. The rumor mill says that, after much "questioning" by our agents after a long detaining process, that she'll be joining other processors on the line soon, under a different supervisor.
Here's the winning entry, submitted by @MoosehatIV :
Congratulations! Your bold display of patriotism and love for Arstotska have awarded you with the opportunity to lie awake sleepless at night, wracked with guilt over the choices you have been forced to make during the day.
Also, since questions remain as to how you were able to produce such a quality piece of artwork while you should be working, your entire family has been detained for further questioning.
Glory to Arstotska! @MoosehatIV, you should accept my friend request so that I can send you Bad Rats your copy of Papers, Please!
And many thanks to the entrants for their interest, their time and their effort put in, especially during a holiday season. This was a stupid amount of fun for me, and I really, really appreciate it.
Don't Starve is tempting me and as the daily timer ticks down I weaken. Is it good? Do I give in?
I had a lot of fun with it for far too much time than I should have spent. It's pretty damn addictive, but it also reaches a point where the difficulty gets kind of hardcore. If a steep ramping up of the difficulty doesn't bother you, go for it!
