So much food. So much delicious food. I'm just starting to recover. What *almost* made my day is that I was finally able to correctly make a gravy from turkey drippings; all previous attempts have ended in tears, usually for those around me as I threw a temper tantrum as only an overgrown 3 year old could.
What *did* make my day, however, was being able to choose and announce a winner in the Papers, Please hand turkey giveaway contest!
Unfortunately, border tensions with Gabenstan escalated into open hostilities yesterday when Papers, Please was announced as a daily. Thankfully, our hardworking and patriotic border guards were able to keep casualties to a minimum.
On to announcing the winner, though!
But before that... honorable mention must go to @Berylline for her fantastic hand crafted entry:
However, she was re-routed out of my line and into another by a drive-by gifting yesterday, and thus unable to be processed. The rumor mill says that, after much "questioning" by our agents after a long detaining process, that she'll be joining other processors on the line soon, under a different supervisor.
Here's the winning entry, submitted by @MoosehatIV :
Congratulations! Your bold display of patriotism and love for Arstotska have awarded you with the opportunity to lie awake sleepless at night, wracked with guilt over the choices you have been forced to make during the day.
Also, since questions remain as to how you were able to produce such a quality piece of artwork while you should be working, your entire family has been detained for further questioning.
Glory to Arstotska! @MoosehatIV, you should accept my friend request so that I can send you Bad Rats your copy of Papers, Please!
And many thanks to the entrants for their interest, their time and their effort put in, especially during a holiday season. This was a stupid amount of fun for me, and I really, really appreciate it.

Now to go and eat some leftovers.
How am I being hit with this much class this early? I haven't even had my luke warm Arstotska tap water to start my day!
Woo! Glad I won, because I was most likely going to buy it today if I didn't win. :P
Since people were asking about a discount before, DuckTales: Remastered is $7.50 on Amazon right now. I might go ahead and grab it.
Good catch. Appears to be a Steam code. I wonder why it's not listed in their Black Friday deals?
Wasn't the general reaction when it came out that it was a sloppy remake? It looked good but handles bad or something?
There were some complaints that it was too hard or frustrating, but the original Nintendo game was hard too. That just sounds like a faithful remake to me. Metascore is fairly good (75) and many of the mixed/negative reviews pick on the game for aspects which are definitely part of the original game. I haven't played the remake yet, but I didn't have the impression that it was sloppy.
Damn, I forgotten capitalw's PA handle here!
How the hell am I supposed to find him!?
Capitalw, just so you know. Wherever you are...... I'm gonna find you. I'm gonna get you. And I am gonna hold you at gunpoint!!!
But instead 'at', I meant for Gunpoint, and by 'hold' I mean hug.
It's such a funky gift, thank you!
I didn't see anyone else answer this yet (unless I missed your post, in which case, oops!), but that would be @Corsini Giftbombs away!
Also, @Spoit has deposited a set of jumbled letters and numbers in my inbox, and asked me to check it on Steam. I will do so, as soon as I am home from work. Thank you!
Also also, thanks again to @Anti-Sean for running that awesome contest. I really had an awful lot of fun being crafty. I'm sorry that I had to back out, but maybe that was a good thing, because I didn't have to compete against @MoosehatIV 's brilliant entry.
Just saw Alpha Protocol is 4 bucks on Amazon and it's a Steam key. I just bought the game DRM free a few weeks ago off GamersGate, and I'm fucking BUYING it again because it's Alpha Protocol and I will defend that game with....well, not my dying breath, but certainly several breaths while I am healthy and alive.
All of Bundle Stars' bundles are -25% off until Dec 2nd. That's not a huge savings since the prices are pretty low to begin with, but still worth checking out.
Ultimate Sci-Fi Bundle - $2.65: Sword of the Stars II: Enhanced Edition, Project Freedom, Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space, SpaceChem, SpaceChem: 63 Corvi DLC, Planets Under Attack, Ion Assault, Data Jammers: FastForward, Really Big Sky FPS Warriors Bundle - $2.30: The Ship, Legendary, Shattered Horizon, Section 8, Dino D-Day, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Outer Limits Bundle - $3.04: UFO Extraterrestrials: Gold, Blades of Time, Insane 2, Hydrophobia: Prophecy, Race Injection, Warfare, Puzzle Kingdoms, Gumboy, Supreme Ruler 2020 Gold, Razor2: Hidden Skies
I was getting pretty amped reading everyone's recommendations for budgeting in here and Mint being free and pretty is fantastic but then I saw that it's a service you sign up for and... submit and store all of your financial information on their servers? Isn't that scary or vulnerable? Or have I turned into my mother
I guess I could sign up with a dummy address and use codewords. I just don't want anyone to find out that 75% of my expenditures are dildos
Yeah, I was taken aback at how simple it was to link my bank account to that site....and how fucking terrifying it is. I'm gonna go remove it now.
Don't forget to clean your wishlists as you receive gifts! I'm cleaning out all the green games now because Steam Sale ninja gifting doesn't get rid of them like you'd expect.
I'm pretty sure this only happens when you activate using codes instead of receiving a gift via Steam.
By the by, does anyone know if Gamefly's Brave New World keys work for Mac steam as well as PC steam? I want to gift it to a friend of mine who loves Civ to death, but the silly bugger only has a mac computer.

I can confirm its a solid game, at least it is on Wii U.
My wife destroyed that game like a pro. Controls are pretty damned near nes perfect. With the proper nes difficulty level.

So hey, Hereos VI is on as a flash sale. NOW IS THE TIME.
Questions, though: (NOT FLOWCHART RELATED)
1) Does it suck / does it compare to the wonder that was HOMM 2 and HOMM 3?
2) Will it run reasonably well on a gaming laptop a couple of years old? Geforce GTS 360m - desktop analogues would be a 8800GT or a HD 5670. It plays Starcraft 2 on medium/low at stable-good framerates.
Some days Blue wonders why anyone ever bothered making numbers so small; other days she supposes even infinity needs to start somewhere.

Just now got around to checking out Arkham Origins scores and I'm kind of disappointed. Is there anything really wrong with it? Or are people just mad it's more of the same?
Bought Don't Starve last night on a whim. Not sure I like it very much. only played twice but didn't last very long until I died. Was kind of at a loss on what to do to start surviving.

People in the Batman thread seem pretty fond of it. Some people like the story better than AC, but it's not quite as polished.
Mostly, getting penalized for not being a big step forward.

I'd say people are mad that it's more of the same, I actually preferred it to Arkham City. Asylum is still the best batman

It's a fine game, but there is just a layer of jank that didn't seem like it was there before. It's hard to articulate without playing it. It feels like there are less grapple points, the city is bigger so traversal becomes a slog due to the way the city is structured, but there's also fast travel points, etc.

Relvant to my inrests.
1. it's closer to homm3 than any of the other tries. I was pleased.
2. shouldn't have a problem, you can always crank down the animations and graphic effects.
2 thumbs up bro, i paid full sticker and ain't mad.

Real shame, they have hands down the best price right now.

i saw it but passed it up
even though i love WH40k games everything i've read about Space Hulk implies even at £7 it's still over priced
i may pick it up when it finally hits rock bottom just to see what exactly i've been missing out on but it's apparently buggy and kind of crap
I mean it is awful but it is also Flashback so I need it
You have done well, @dudeman.
