I am trying to figure out if Nautilus would be a better jungler or support in season 4. He seems like a pretty boss support with all his cc to help his marksman out.
I've always felt like support Nautilus has the drawbacks of Leona and Blitzcrank without the benefits of either.
Only think Leona has he doesn't really is that her hook type thing goes through minions it seems to me. I haven't played Blitz since I started playing again so I can't really compare them so you'd have to enlighten me on what he brings Naut doesn't.
Blitz's grab is narrower so you're more likely to thread it through minions, and it's certain death. Nautilus is fat like Leona's, but it's minion blocked, and hitting it is probably not going to get you a kill. So you can get poked out of lane like Leona or Blitz, but you don't have either of their kill potential or hard engage. Late game Nautilus arguably is tankier with better peel, but overall I don't see the point unless you just really like Nautilus.
Use a move command after a hop to cancel the wind-down animation then immediately attack after the move command, then hit the next hop to cancel the auto-attack wind-down animation then repeat until there is nothing left to murder.
That's probably explain a bit of why I've been underwhelmed.
May need to retry it. I could get COD reload animation cancels down to probably a handful of ms, but then again, I tried to avoid playing with a gross three digit ping like I have in LOL.
You know, I instinctively do a lot of animation canceling (not that there's a whole lot of it in this game), but I don't think I ever noticed you could do that with Broken Wings.
I learned how to do it on accident after they changed how the broken wings targeting worked some time ago and it kept making me hop in unintended directions. To compensate I issue like 40,000 move clicks after each hop just to get her pointing in the right direction before the next hop. If you don't have an enemy in that direction though and you start pathing around and ally or minion or whatever it will still mess you up because they can't just make you hop towards your cursor oh no that would be too much to ask for.
Kids collectively facepalmed. I should've filmed it hahaha

The buff to his Q slow makes him an unstoppable chaser again. His early tower dive potential is maximum.
9/21 with flat AD reds/quints. His clear times are insanely fast while maxing Q. Pretty sure he has one of the best jungle clear times next to Shyv. Ancient Golem->Tabi->(Locket/SV/Randuins/Hydra/Thornmail/Sunfire) to preference.
Yeah, Olaf getting his chase back is nice but unfortunately if your team is megaderplord and doesn't take any CC and/or your top lane also goes something squishy you're pretty fucked. I also found he'd get pretty low on mana with Q spam, which can leave him vulnerable on invades, but YMMV.
IMO I'd really want Mallet on him these days if you can swing it, I just don't know when you'd build it. Last time I got to play him I tried out Golem->Swiftness->Cutlass and then had to go tanky after that. The chase was pretty good but I definitely feel like I want the Mallet to get even more control back on. I'd even try to just do Pickaxe instead of Cutlass if I was doing that, then Giant's Belt+Chain+Negatron then finish things.
I don't really think you can afford to build mallet on anyone, it's too weak of an item. Shurelya or Randuins (active) work far better in terms of locking down a target long enough to kill them. I tried Bork but I don't really like it as Olaf often has to run in, burst while soaking up damage and get out. Bork is more of a constant dueling item. While Olaf can do that, in teamfights it's not likely to be what you are able to do. I tried it on him and it feels really shitty.
Speaking of invades Olaf is one of the better jungle duelists. He absolutely shits on Lee unless Lee is ahead or catches Olaf offguard when Lee is one of the junglers I hate seeing the most. He'd probably have more trouble versus Udyr and Shyv but he's a big jungle and 2v2 bully.
I was thinking Mallet to offset for lack of lockdown but Randuin's would also work if you can burst hard enough, that's fair. I dunno, I miss building Mallet on melee bruisers.
You think Hydra is better at running in and bursting and getting out than BoRK? I don't know that I agree with that. IMO Hydra is the constant dueling item since you're more likely to get a second use out of it, whereas BoRK just gives you a burst, slow, and the lifegain once at the start (or whenever).
And yeah, I dunno, I was getting dumpstered even by Elise on invades, was pretty shitty. Having to walk back and forth to catch the axe in a stationary fight is sketchy as hell.
Olaf scales really well with AD (100% bonus AD on axes, 40% TRUE FUCKING DAMAGE on E) and Olaf in a teamfight wants to do one thing: Run at someone squishy (AP Mid, ADC) and force them to blow all their cooldowns getting the fuck away and/or kill them. You're not going to be doing a lot of auto attacking as they run away, typically a hit or two, several axes and an E or two. Maximizing your burst potential can mean the difference between 100->0 and 100->20. I like Hydra a lot more for this with its active and 50 more AD. The attack speed stat is almost totally wasted since you're more often using abilities and chasing rather than auto attacking and don't have any particular amp like Zed's ult to make the BORK active worth more than it is (also fuck that insane cooldown.) Hydra will also splash everyone around you for bonus points.
BORK is great for fighting 1v1 against someone like Udyr where you can both paw at each other for ages. If you want to split push with Olaf and be able to fight one person that comes at you I guess that can work out if they have to send a big heavy. But if you're teamfighting (like 90% of solo queue) I think it's a bad idea.
Nothing more satisfying than running straight at an ulting Xerath. HAHAHA, FOOLISH MAGE! YOUR SILLY STUNS CANNOT STOP ME!

Hmm. Okay, thanks a lot, I see your perspective now. Since I'm a jungle main and it's pretty hard to split push from that, I'll probably go Hydra second from now on if I can get away with it.
Just hit silver 1 and for my first win I got +5 LP and for my first lost I got -4 LP, previously I was getting +20, -17. Am I getting clamped for is the system telling me I am at the right skill level?
Gonna stream my series. Attempting to get into silver 2. Sure how I don't scrub it up like I usually do.
You really need MR blues. CDR is a crutch and when their team is entirely AP except for the Graves, you're gonna have a really rough time for pretty much the entirety of the game.

Question about leagues and MMR. I know during the season you dropped leagues for inactivity, but your MMR never dropped is this correct? Also, is there any inactivity loss during pre-season beginning of season before you redo your promotional matches? Just curious, as I've been on a bit of a break since Rocksmith came out, and then BF4. Figured I'd wait to see how changes shaked out before jumping in and learning the new meta. Seems like it's going to be a whole new game.
I went inactive after my motorcycle accident and dropped 2 tiers. It seemed to me that my mmr was the same and I was still playing against people in Gold I/Plat V, even though I had fallen to Gold IV. That is purely anecdotal though.
They are going to do a soft reset when the new season starts, and I believe that the soft reset will be based off your preseason mmr, not your end of season 3 mmr.

Thanks, I was just curious how it worked and such. Just LOLKing'd myself, and I ended S3 according to it at 1343. I guess it really doesn't matter, as I'm going to start better regardless than I did at the begining of the season, as I finished S2 at like 875-915, heh. I was just curious if I should play some games during preseason, if I"m better of not, or if it doesn't really matter at all.
On 21/11/13, starting at 03:30 UK Time, ranked queues will be disabled in preparation for patch 3.14. At 05:00 UK Time, the servers will be shut down and all games currently in progress will end in a draw and stats will not be recorded. We estimate the battlegrounds will be unavailable for 6 hours.
Note that this does not work well if you haven't played 10 games in ranked as your last ten games. Otherwise it has to estimate via the MMR of the other people you had played with.
I am also not sure its using the same tracking from league that lolking does so things might look differently.
For instance. Wildturtle has a lolking score of 3400 but an MMR of 2400 according to that site. So if it gives you a low number don't feel bad

Once you have a few levels in it, they are not getting away if you want to follow up. You land it and can just walk right up and put your E down right where they want to run away.
As everyone was saying, it's a preference thing, but I think you get more kill potential with W maxed on Jinx.
W certainly gets you more pick potential early. In silver(and above really) its often possible to force a fight on an out of position enemy even early game just with some timely CC and zoning. W lets you do that very effectively. Q does not

It gave me nothing lol. Is that site new? I haven't played since mid / late october.
Apparently Syndra and Olaf have been disabled due to bugs. They didn't say what the bugs were, has anyone heard anything?
From the brief phoorah on Reddit the other day, it appears that with _very_ precise timing you can get two instances of damage out of Syndra's E - its' something to do with casting E, and then summoning a ball in it's path. Done correctly, the target takes the wave damage, then the sphere's E damage as well (and of course, the actaul sphere summoning damage). which is a pretty reasonable amount of hurty burst.
So, I'm trying to actually sit down and do my first serious theory craft as I learn to play Riven. And there are a lot of guides out there from high ranking players, and I'm trying to crunch to numbers for laning phase and decide on either Life Steal quints, or HP/5 quints. So, HP/5 quints break down to 1.62hp per second. where Life Steal quints with Masteries and runes breaks down to ~ 5.1hp per hit at level 1 with a LS start. Since you focus on last hitting to not push the lane you get to roughly 30hp regen'd per wave if you don't miss, assuming you don't hit more than once, and you don't hit your opponent you regen 61.2hp per minute. with HP/5 you regen 97.2 per minutes.
In order to beat that you need an extra 3 life steal per hit, so 138 damage. And now this is where I need data. Where can I go to find data? Specifically on average how long it takes to get to 138 damage. Or am I just going to have to compile this on my own?
You never see HP/5 quits over lifesteal quints, and the reason is because when you are fighting, you get 0 regen from the HP/5, but tons (no math, sorry, it's getting late) from lifesteal.
Also, you should probably be doing AD quints. Everything Riven has scales off AD. You could build 6 Bloodthirsters on her and I wouldn't call you dumb for doing it.
