I only use shields on my magic users (Agnes and Ringabel). Edea is dual-wielding and Tiz uses the Two-Handed ability.

Passive evasion is pretty nice, and only a few non-shields boost it.

Damn, now it doesn't ignore. I must have failed to actually remove the ability, before. But more repetitions show that Auto does remember the selected ability in case it is added again, rather than remembering the standard attack for being more recently performed.

Possible application: White Magic between battles without setting up Auto from scratch.

I thought Spiritmaster was kind of a useless Job, but Enigma really saved my hide. Elemental-based enemies don't really stand a chance against that.

    Adaptation is amazing.

Whoa, some enemies have two items to steal. Tricksy.

Edit: Silence-immunity doesn't work outside battle in preventing trap-effects, but it does cure Silence at the start of battle.

Tiz looks good with the Tomahawk.

Two Handed is pretty good with axes since the stat that's doubled is high, while the situation with critical and aim doesn't get any worse.
    Well, then. Summoner is charming.

If Enigma is the kind of ability that I think it is, then its no surprise. One of the easiest ways of getting through 4 Heroes of Light was to have an Elementalist keep Mysterio (raise elemental defense by one stage) up at all times during bosses.

What does High Jump, spear, Aerials and BP Skill Amp end up as? 750%? About Special-level?

    Spirit Barrier is pretty cool.

Squeaky Wheel and something from Red Mage could result in some onesided fights.

Edit: Hold on, now, hey. Angelic Pillar with Dark-part hit Dark-weakness but not Light-weakness. At an earlier time, Breaking Wave with Fire-part didn't hit a Water-weakness.

I have a question, does anyone know which level I should be in Chapter 3? I just defeated Praline.

I'm on lvl 41 because I was farming Mushrooms in the Miasma wood for Job Points and forgot to disable the Exp, so now everything Is so easy even on Hard mode :/
Also Is there any point where I can replace my Thief? I couldn't replace It yet because of the Steal Ability I need that to steal from every boss.

PS. Am I wrong or Is Praline the only Boss so far that didn't die after giving her Asterisk out?

So, the bearer of the Vampire asterisk claims that while he is immortal, hes not actually a blood-sucking fiend. But one of the first thing your character learn as Vampires is Blood Thirst, which drains enemy health. So I wonder what's up with that.

Also, turns out it's a terrible idea to try to drain life from undead enemies.

  • Maz-Maz- 飛べ Registered User regular
    He actually explains that.
People thought he was a vampire, so he set out to learn techniques that would perpetuate that myth.

Yeah, I figured he meant the way he presented himself with his clothes and his big evil castle and the way he can turn into a bat. Not the actual drinking of blood.

Geez. To think this started as a simple "Wake Four Crystals, Save the World" plot.

But enough of that, I found a treasure chest key! Time to put the plot on hold for a while.

Is It normal that you don't get PG from Bosses like Qada, Chaugmar or Kamizumi? I get Exp and Job Points but no Money for defeating them.
I haven't equipped any Accessory that doubles Exp/JP and disables PG Gain nor have I disabled the PG in the settings.

  • BasilBasil Registered User regular
Some bosses don't hand out moneydollars.

Now then, bugger the plot, time to acquire blue chests!

A question about a boss fight (Story not combat however) said fight occurs in chapter 4.
If you kill Victor before Victoria is anything interesting said? I killed Victoria first and she just said she wished we'd just die. Pretty standard, but Victor gave a really good scream "victoria VICTORIA" (cliche? mabye but it was well acted) When I dropped him he thanked us for sending him off to be with Victoria.

Also gotta love how this pair brings into focus the divide among the eternians you fight between the utter sociopaths like Qada, Red and Holly. And people who are pretty much decent people just on the oppisite side of the conflict. Whether because they beleive in the cause or they have some reason to stick with the Eternians. The SwordMaster, Valykyrie and Alternis all come across as people fighting for a cause they beleive in.

    Simple yes/no:

Is this game simply a can't miss, along the lines of Xenoblade (in terms of quality)? Because I've been super hyped for it since I've learned of it (which is why I got a 3DS last year), but I want to know if it lives up to that hype.

    Put another way, JRPG orgasm?

Music is excellent too for a handheld game. Really sets up the mood well.

It's kind of just a better Final Fantasy. Like a eugenically improved Final Fantasy.

    Beat the final boss, woo!

    (slight mechanics spoilers, nothing major)
Getting all my characters to level 99 definitely helped, but I also got fairly lucky that in the early stages of the fight, he mostly used his Death attack on Agnes (who was wearing a Ribbon and thus was immune) and that he only used his BP stealing move once or twice as opposed to every other turn like in my first attempt.
I also used Summon Friend basically every turn, not necessarily for the damage but rather for the buffs. It also seemed thematically appropriate.

Anyway, all in all it was a fantastic game. Virtually my only complaint is that the game has some pacing issues in the second half of the game (those who've played it know what I mean, don't wanna spoil it).

We better fucking get the sequel, especially since they've teased it ingame.

JP Up? Sorry, I relied on Abilink myself to get it :P

It's useful, but not that big a deal, really. If it were double the amount of JP, sure, but 1.2 is not that much.

Honestly I'm even more jealous of their exclusive Wii games. Disaster and Another Code R are FANTASTIC while I knew in my heart of hearts that BD:FF and Xenoblade would make it here.

NA got Excitebots (which is rad) and the previous three gens were loaded with great games Europe never got.
