Who do we have running this fine site you ask?

I played the shit out of that game when I was a fuzzlet. This is bringing back all sorts of memories.

Good lord this is terrible. It's funny how kids have no concept of whether a game is awful or not.

    you should watch wrestling!

the secret of wrestling is that there are companies that excel in different parts

if you want to watch a company that's all-around good but not great at all aspects of the medium, watch the wwe

if you want fucking lunacy with slightly less emphasis on technical wrestling ability, watch some old chikara stuff

if you want talented dudes beating the dogmess out of each other with less emphasis on plot, watch PWG or one of the japanese companies

if you want perfection watch NXT

tonight I have resumed my quest to play through the entire Ratchet and Clank series.

It's kind of crazy just how much different from the first game Up Your Arsenal is already, I'm kind of excited to get to the Future games.

Speaking of which, should I just go ahead and skip to Tools of Destruction once I'm done with this one or is there any value whatsoever to playing Deadlocked.

My one big complaint with Year Walk is that
It has jump scares. I fucking hate jump scares. And I hate that it made me yelp in panic on a crowded bus :P

  • turtleantturtleant Gunpla Dad is the best.Registered User regular
I liked deadlocked. People poop on it for trying to be "edgy", but it's really pretty much in line with the rest of the original games in tone.

I still don't know if Milon's Secret Castle is good or not. I feel like I could bullet point all the good things, but absolutely no one has nostalgia for it, it seems

Also, I very much need to watch Cyberia 2 Super Replay. It's hilarious how much Tim complains about Cyberia 1 every time it's brought up

Jesus, Cyberia. That brings back some not-great memories.

I was lousy at it, but I was too young to realize that games could be bad/broken, so I just thought it was some personal failing.

Syberia is still sitting in my closet. I just never got around to playing it in the decade since it came out

Also, apparently Syberia III is en route

Syberia? You mean Backtracking: The Series?

"What if we, as a piece of interactive art, stripped away the appealing parts of adventure gaming? Compelling characters, interesting dialogue, challenging puzzles. Let's get rid of all that. We'll leave in pixel-hunting and backtracking, and imply that an interesting story will eventually show up, but never it will. Brilliant!"

Amerzone and Syberia actually probably have more weaknesses than strengths, but I remember that the weirdo plane/rocket/boat thing in Amerzone was endlessly captivating to my imagination, as was the super-cool clockwork shit in Syberia, so

My first adventure game ever was Leisure Suit Larry 2, in second grade.

I'm still unclear as to 1) why we owned it, and 2) why I was allowed to play it
