Got fed up with this game and quit after repeatedly trying to get a bugged quest to work without success. I came back after the PS+ release got people talking about it again, and I don't know why I expected it to be any different, but of course the quest is still broken. Apparently it's one of the ones required for an achievement, too.

    Fuck this game.

    @lork

    Quest character dead/missing?

Won't show up on the board?

    How is it broken?
It's the quest "Dying of Curiosity", I'm supposed to find some annoying kid named Valmiro, but he refuses to spawn where he's supposed to be.

You might need to talk to a villager first. He gives you some directions.
I've talked to what feels like a million villagers already and everything in the game and from what I've seen online indicates that the next step is to find him lying next to a bush in front of the encampment. I even get dialogue from my pawns to the effect of "Oh it's that Valmiro guy again, what a doofus!" when I get near that spot. He simply refuses to exist.

Since it's been so long I'm considering switching to the PS3 version and just starting the whole thing over. Does anybody know if the PS+ version comes with any extra DLC that the base Dark Arisen for the 360 might not have? I know Vanquish on PS+ came with all the DLC extras, so I figure it might be the same for other games. Now that I know that you need to level the classes in a certain order to get the optimal stat growth (what a stupid system, by the way) I can get that right this time, too.

He appears on the beach the first time. Then by right section of the encampment.

Other than that I can't help.

Yes, I found him on the beach. The problem is that he doesn't show up on the second leg of the quest. It's bugged.

Dragon’s Dogma Quest Adventures To Vita On December 19
    Read more at http://www.siliconera.com/2013/11/18/dragons-dogma-quest-adventures-vita-december-19/#Rd8Si46TSslcoe2E.99

While Dragon’s Dogma Quest was first announced as a PlayStation Vita game, Capcom actually released the iOS version first. The free to play Dragon’s Dogma game will be available for Vita on December 19.

Just like Dragon’s Dogma, you control an enlightened one whose heart was stolen by a dragon. Pawn have over 150 different jobs and you can bring up to eight of them in battle. Dragon’s Dogma Quest has been optimized for Vita with button controls in addition to touch screen operation plus compatibility with PS Vita TV.

“The controls are simple, and I think those of you who will be playing the game for the first time will have a good time. It is free of charge, so please go ahead and download it to try it out for yourself. Dragon’s Dogma Quest is an RPG that places exceptional importance on tactics and strategy. Try mixing up various job classes, and try playing with your very own party. It’s a traditional fantasy title, so if you enjoy the world of Dragon’s Dogma Quest, please try the console version, Dragon’s Dogma. The story is great," said director Hideaki Itsuno.

Some characters from the console version appear in Dragon’s Dogma Quest like Julien the Knight of Voldoa and Mercedes who is the captain of the Enlistment Corps.

Well, I liked the topics of the story but I don't think it was the selling point Itsuno-san.

Just think. 8 pawns. All talking at once. None of them saying anything useful.

I would probably harm someone who deserved it for a Dragon's Dogma Vita, full stop, with none of this "portable" nonsense.

I even sat at the table with my pawn and told him to shut the fuck up, and he still won't

If I didn't already feel sort of weird enslaving these people I would totally buy a magic needle and thread to figuratively sew their lips closed

So ... I don't quite get this game.

First I was a mighty warrior walking past the slain corpses of a mighty army to battle a deadly dragon.

Then suddenly I was a humble fisherman -1 heart. Now I die when I walk into the gently lapping waves.

A mysterious portal opened and creepy guy descended from it and began following me with no explanation.

None of the villagers seem to find this curious. In exchange I relieved their homes of their possessions.

I haven't fought anything yet, but if I ever have to, if it is weak to bottles of oil or water, it is going DOWN.

    Also, brooms.

Yeah, the mighty warrior is the tutorial.

i ran a few hours as a fighter but i was kind of dissatisfied with my character appearance so i rerolled and ran a strider

    so, so much better

but i'm still periodically getting my ass handed to me somewhat inexplicably

like, one bandit with a shield in an otherwise basic fight will just start wrecking all my dudes

and the saurian fight in the well was nightmarish

    thank god for archery cheese

  • ArchsorcererArchsorcerer Registered User regular
Yup, that's the start of the game.

Just wait until you get Helmsplitter.

I'm up to a certain point in the wyrm hunt series of quests
the one where you have to talk to the Duke
. The guard says if I proceed I'll lose all of my quests. Is this permanent? I have a few dozen kill quests that I don't want to give up for good.

He's specifically talking about the other wyrm hunt quests you can do. Your other quests are fine.

Can anyone explain what's up with that "Ambush!" quest that "triggers" at the front gate of Gran Soren and cuts to 6+ mysterious people standing on cliff watching you from a distance?
Is that just Salomet and some cronies, and thus it gets resolved when you face Salomet in the mine, or is it something else that I just never encountered? (Note: I have beaten the game, and run through it on New Game+ up through to the Post-Game, so don't worry about spoilers.)

Such a great game. Shame there is not a next gen sequel with bigger stuff planned. More areas, bigger enemies, more of them on screen, etc. Also I still feel like they never really did anything with rift crystals. As much as I enjoyed the cosmetic equipment, having a genuine need for them would have been nice.

They did use rift crystals more aggressively in the expansion. I actually run out for a while, before I leveled up enough that my pawn started to get hired again. They wanted to make money out of RCs with microtransactions so I'd say the less use they have the better.
