[PATV] Monday, November 18, 2013 - CheckPoint Season 3, Ep. 23: Sony’s Everquest for More Money
I've never been particularly interested in Everquest, but I have no problem whatsoever with their idea. It's not like Alpha test access was suddenly taken away. It's gone from "something you can't have unless you're friends with a developer" to "something you can have if you really want it". Sounds smart.
Though I'm with you on the last story. Cancel technology, and I think that will just about abolish dating, too...
1. I vote both. Add in an orbital launch without a capsule.
2. If the development team is as involved with the movie as they say, I wouldn't count on it not being absolutely terrible. The policy from them as of late has been "remove or reduce content and call it a feature".
3. So the course was made by those who did more harm than good to their companies? Good to know...
After credits 1. Gee, they might actually have a Minecraft that isn't piss poor small.
After credits 2. 0.o. And you know it's a silly story when the DB setup crew can't withhold their laughter. :P
@AngelicalMan I know right! If I liked both of those things I would would have to go to both in the same day! :-D (Meant in a friendly joking matter. Tone doesn't translate well on the Interwebs.)
I believe Marvel Heroes was asking people to drop $200 on their free to play game before launch to unlock content, and that didn't even get you a beta spot. You just had to drop $200 on a free to play game that you didn't even know if you'd like yet.
The Everquest thing is even more interesting because they aren't even selling access for the Alpha of the real game (Everquest Next). Instead, they're selling the access to the Minecraft-style pre-game (Everquest Landmark) that they'll then use to take pressure of their artist to make things by instead using player created items. But, people that get in early apparently get the best spots to build things. Still, that's pretty ballsy.

Ending is gold. That one news item could have been an entire episode and I would have been happy

I thought it suited her actually.
But I also think it's one of those that looks great in a photo, PITA in RL.
And yes the ending was good, felt a bit like Feed Dump, or can I mention shows on that.. er, other net-network? Just didn't have any funny hats.

But finally, I can make love to Lady Cthulhu.
The Orgasmatron!
