Honestly, it's Twitch.tv's responsibility, surely? Webcam makers aren't responsible for what people broadcast with them - the content platform is.
Apologies if I've misunderstood the relationship between the two.
It's questionable, really... even if it shouldn't be.
I haven't dug too deep, but are there parental controls on the PS4 to block the ability to stream / watch streams?

Yeah, I mean, it's not Sony's problem. These people could just as easily be doing the same thing with twitch using the webcam on their laptop. Twitch bears the responsibility of moderating.
Everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
I can't find the original post of the stream you're talking about anymore, so I'm not sure who is who, but I've heard of other ToS violation streams and Twitch has shut them down. Like I was saying somewhere days ago, Twitch is actually pretty good at moderating this stuff in general, though they're probably a bit overwhelmed right now until they get more mods.
System's working as intended and as it always has.

So you guys have been pretty vocally supportive of AC4. Now that I've conquered Resogun (though I'll obviously keep playing it, because it's great), I'm going to keep pushing through towards KZ's platinum, but I'm wondering what I should pick up next, to play through at Christmastime. The last AC I played was AC2, and I really enjoyed it, so I'm leaning towards AC4, especially because I like what I hear about its open-world aspects. I love any game with open-world sailing (Wind Waker, Pirates!, etc.), and I loved exploring AC2's world and earning upgrades, so I have to assume I'll love this.
Does it feel next-gen? I know it looks better than the last-gen version, and it runs better, right?
The other game I've been considering is NFS:R - Tycho's news post got me a little more interested in it, mostly because of the "caRPG" elements. But I think I'm more interested in open-world sailing than open-world online racing.
I'd suggest AC4 doesn't quite feel next-gen, as it's been designed with the PS3 and 360 in mind. That being said, the generational leap is significant, both in presentation and performance. Where the last-gen consoles will regularly chug and make platforming more of a chore, the PS4 version is locked at 30FPS, and it's native 1080p (what with the recent patch, upping it from 900p upscaled to 1080. It's like this : y'know those gorgeous screenshots they always release of AC games, but your console version never looks like that?
Black Flag on PS4 looks like that.
And yes, I would put Black Flag in the Good Assassin's Creed Game Club, along with II and Brotherhood.

It's not SONY's problem at all. They guy is streaming through Twitch - it's on them to moderate his behavior (by shutting down his account). SONY can't (and likely wont) do anything about this.
But really - as the person who brought up the streaming of TV shows - this was all to be expected.

It was only a matter of time before people started doing lecherous things with the PS4 camera and Twitch/UStream. It's on Twitch to moderate it, but overall I don't think anyone should be surprised or get up in arms over it.
As far as getting drunk and high on stream, people have been doing that since the inception of Twitch. There is nothing in the ToS that says you can't be on stream in an altered state, it just says you can't be smoking directly on stream. I know plenty of very popular Twitch personalities who's entire schtick is that they go off camera to toke and then play games high.
The BF4 multiplayer interface is seriously the worst. Is there really no way to just create a party, invite your friend to said party, and then join a game?
My friend and I had to do this last night to get into a game together:
When you go to Multiplayer, a list of servers is on the right that has people from your friends list playing on them. Nowhere is it mentioned WHAT friends, just that one or more is playing.
When a friend joins a server, at that exact moment a message is displayed in the upper right like ALLFORCE HAS JOINED SERVER NORMAL 385728. It's up to you to watch for this carefully during the 4 seconds it is displayed so you can remember the fucking 6 digit code for the server they hopped into, and then locate it on the right and join.
I'm honestly surprised no one has gone full porno with the camera yet.
From loosely following the GAF thread on these streams, didn't someone actually get his girlfriend to strip? Something like that happened at least and Twitch immediately banned him. So it's not for lack of trying, Twitch is just doing their job and cracking down on them.
Blocking Playroom from streaming would be a stupid idea. Sure, it'd save Twitch some time and prevent a possible uninformed mainstream media shitstorm over nothing but then the same sort of stupid shit is going to appear in the livecams while playing games anyway. But they'd also come across like draconian douchebags over-reacting to this issue and that's something that the current, socially aware Sony is actively trying to avoid.
Both, but in this case it's Twitch's responsibility to moderate it. I'm sure Twitch could file a complaint to Sony and get repeat offenders PSN accounts banned but even then, I bet they'd just IP ban them to save themselves the hassle.

If we're talking about the same thing, it was a LOT worse than that and very illegal here in Europe, probably in the US as well.
Nasty stuff
A person was streaming with his wife and drinking. The wife passed out, and he started undressing her on the stream. It was shut down, and he made a new stream with his wife completely naked. He was promptly banned. People on GAF are asking for pictures. What the fuck is wrong with people.
So is anyone else having issues connecting to Ubisofts servers for AC4? I can connect to multiplayer just fine, and I'm seeing no issues with PSN. But the Kenway's Fleet stuff is down and the little icon in the corner that indicates you are "online" is greyed out. Its been like this all day for me. Am I alone here?
I tried to connect to them myself the other day and couldn't do so, it's a problem I hear of frequently for them, not sure if it's ever actually worked yet.
Quite enjoying my PS4, first real system I'm loving in a long time.
So I'm definitely getting a PS4, just holding off right now for monetary reasons. How long do you guys figure until most of the launch hardware problems are worked out? I'm not looking to get one any sooner than 6 months from now.
The failure rates bandied about are right in line with standard consumer products. If there is a launch hardware issue it hasn't really shown up yet.
It was awhile before the issues showed up last gen, wasn't it? Though I really don't expect heat issues from either console this generation. That lesson was well learned.

It is on Twitch to get the stream shut down and everything... but I could see Sony removing the ability to stream Playroom if it gets known for this type of crap. Removing it would get rid of 99% of these instances, because there is no other way to do a full screen camera. Sure, you could still get high/drunk on stream, but without Playroom, it would be limited to a small zoomed in camera. Plus you would have to be playing something, so the show changes from "look at me in my room" to "game + look at me" like most other twitch streams.
I agree with you guys, PS4 hasn't added anything that hasn't already been on the Internet before. It just made it incredibly easy to use, so I guess we get more idiots using it.
And thus the reason why I won't be embracing this digital movement any time soon. Say what you want about retail but I'll take competitive pricing over a minor convenience any time.
"Oh, well, this would be one of those circumstances that people unfamiliar with the law of large numbers would call a coincidence."
To whoever hopped in my NFS:R game for a bit earlier today --- sorry I didn't engage, I was doing an interceptor mission and I think you left before I had a chance to catch back up with you.
On the subject, when I do play NFS:R, I will generally do friends games, so since I finally got almost everyone from the megadoc requested, just feel free to hop in.

Do we have a clan for Killzone, BF4 or AC4? The road virus invited me to an AC4 one, if anyone else is interested in multi-player on PS4. I'm attempting to get the Platinum, so I'll be putting in time.

Yeah, the cheap solder Microsoft used took a few months to wear down, coincidentally putting breakages right outside of the warranty. That's really not a concern with these two latest systems.
So far I am a horrible pirate. I have yet to sink another ship as I feel bad and worry some of the people on the ship may have a family waiting for them at home.
Well, Infamous and Titanfall are both out soonish and both look super promising.
Those are probably the first potential killer apps for each.
Yes, I know Titanfall is going to be on 360 and PC as well but everyone considers that a One game first and foremost so I think it will count if it lives up to potential.
This Playroom Twitch fad going on right now is the most insane thing. I'm looking at the Spartan Show right now and I can't tell if this is brilliant or ludicrous.
To that end, my friend wanted me to bring the PS4 over to his house, so I ended up setting my own Twitch show with Playroom. In less than five minutes we got 10 viewers, in ten minutes that number shot up to 100. It was over 130 by the time we were done, far and away the highest number of viewers I've ever gotten for my feed.
Much of the dialogue consisted of people demanding we make out, and something about shoes on heads. I obliged with the latter, because why not. I also told my friend to wear a funny hat, to which he produced a Walter White-esque fedora that quickly earned him the nickname "Fedora" followed by an emote (so they claimed).
It was quite the hilarious experience, especially as my friend was quite ignorant to the horde of memes popping up ("What's MLP stand for?").

This is 2013, come on.
But Battlefield having a shitty UI is actually part of its DNA. So it'll never change.
Be thankful it's not the warcrime that was the BF2 menu.
