    Hrmmm.

    HRMMMMM.

    I dunno.

I would like to have a beer with Neil Degrasse Tyson, and just tell him to talk the whole time while I nod (whether I understood or not).

I would like to have a beer with Sean Connery, cause I think he would give me a hell of a story to tell people once he was drunk.

Really though the Jews probably were hit as hard as any of the enemies of Rome. Hadrian basically forced the Diasphora by making it illegal to enter Jerusalem as a jew.
Carthage is maybe the only civilisation hit harder. The romans literally salted the earth to fuck them, their children and their childrens children.

I've never tried leading a platoon in Planetside. It can't possibly be harder than leading a real one.

    It's a different skillset :P.

When you lead a platoon in Planetside it's not like the real military, it's more like being a dungeon master: Your primary goal is the entertainment of your platoon.

ATI/AMD has kind of fallen the wayside. They seem to no longer be able to compete price wise with their bigger competitors.

Oh the i5's too much? Your next best bet is probably the i3. AMD's i5 equivalent is around there, and costs about the same.

It used to be pretty swell to build a nice $400 PC that was okay in comparison to an $800 one, but when AMD is like a $25 difference, why bother?

Their ATI card brands are having the same issues for the most part, though I hear their new high end ones are doing really well.

And if you need to farm bitcoins, there's always that.

Have to admit I was a Radeon guy at first but I have to say that my last card and current one have given me little problems (last one being a Twin Frozr GTS 250 and current being an EVGA Geforce 560 Ti).

i don't know what's good or bad about my set-up.

i just bought parts and mishandled them into a computer case until it worked.

My computer is a cargo-cult computer. it's made of hay and rocks.

Yeah, mine's a bit of a Frankenstein atm. If/When I build again I'm probably just going to order it all from newegg. I upgrade my current one for the MB, RAM & video card a couple of years back so it runs well. Wishing I had upgraded the cooling though instead of leaving it stock. :\

    Aubrey Plaza

As much as I like Aubrey Plaza, I imagine actually hanging out with her would be weird unless we knew each other really well.

So we'll just have to hang out a bunch.

I take extremely well to people who are very deadpan, so I think we'd get along well from the start.

radeon cards are not uncompetitive? they have a competitive card at every pricepoint. the gpu war is very much a 'down to your preference' thing now. unlike cpus where, as you said, for anything of enthusiast quality intel has the market cornered.

AMD seems to have bet the farm on becoming the primary developer and manufacturer of next gen console chips, with their APU efforts on the PC taking a second seat.

Their recent GPUs are the tits, but intel runs the board on the CPU side of things at this point.

Up until about 2 months ago, they definitely were not competitive at all.

They were okay but for the price, you could almost always get a better nVidia card.

Don't confuse me for someone that's all "OH MY GOD I SUCK NVIDIA AND INTELS COCKS"

I built my PC at the beginning of this year. I went Nvidia, but the AMD's were most certainly competitive and it was basically down to a coin toss.

Yeah. The only reason I'm hesitant on them now is their drivers can be absolute ass sometimes. Especially with OSS stuff and linux, which I dabble in occasionally.

ATI drivers is like pulling teeth with multiple monitors on ubuntu man.

But their new cards are pretty fuckmazing from what I can see.

Also I wouldn't be able to rely on people playing games to reliably follow orders the way I can actual soldiers, that would make it an exercise in frustration. Although I guess that problem largely goes away with a group of people you know.

I will say Nvidia wins hands down with drivers now. "The Nvidia Experience" is spoiling me rotten. It constantly tweaks my game settings automatically for the best balance, tells me when a new driver comes out, what the driver fixes, and will even do FRAPS like recording now.

Step yo driver game up AMD
