The important thing to keep in mind is that different frames suits different people. All the frames are quite useable in the hands of someone who loves them. Some love Nova, some cant' stand her. Some use Rhino for everything, some sell him off because he's dumb. Some like Loki, some like Ash. Some loves every frame. So when I say Mag's trash, that doesn't mean YOU find her to be trash. And though Ash is by far the best frame, he's not really the best frame for everyone. Have fun! Stomp Hek harder, I'd like more videos of him losing his shit and screaming at me.
Going back to samurai mangas now, will be back to playing in a couple of days. Excalibur only.

Game needs a proper Katana.
DE has said they might go back and add more traditional looking katana-like weapons, but they recently completed a 'design-a-weapon' contest. So their melee dance card is full for now.
My personal favorite from the winners are the dual wield Tenno kukris.
Completely stuck on an interception mission because pub uses never want to defend the points. Defending a point by myself isn't a great idea either since none of my teammates ever manage to revive me unless I'm right next to them.

Hum...you know, I didn't care for the Tetra at all so far while using it but now that I have it high enough to have Serration, one Elemental damage mod, and a Speed Trigger with a couple ranks on it this isn't so bad. The questionable accuracy is a bit annoying but the Speed Trigger has really helped it out alot, even if I seem to be burning ammo more in return.
If your short on plat might want to wait for Dera. Felt like a strait upgrade from Tetra and holds its own in tower 3 missions.
Mods do make the difference on guns. Base Burston for example becomes a solid gun up to 20 or so with maxed recoil mod, or tigris with penetration mod.
Now that Ember and Mag are both 30, I'm probably selling Ember back. Mag just seems to have more utility, her ultimate is a similar enough AOE nuke, and she's much less glass cannonny. Just having the shield restore makes her considerably less squishy.
Plus Ember got bolted and like hell I'm spending that much in rare resources to unlock a frame I'm iffy on.
I might recommend keeping her around rather than selling her. Really, I'd suggest that for frames in general.
Also worth noting Ember is really all about her ult. Build the frame around that and everything burns to death.
Eh, I figure I'll get Ember Prime eventually so no need to keep the vanilla one around in the meantime.
It's not that I think she's bad per se, I just never enjoy playing glass cannons. I like a frame with some staying power so I can take a few hits. What Mag loses in health she gains back twice in shields, and she has 4x the armor. Plus the shield restore, spammable pull, and a nice AOE stun/nuke. I generally rely on my weapons for offense (think I'll call it Loki Starter Syndrome) since I don't have an Energy Siphon yet, with powers thrown in as the situation calls for them. Ember seems much more reliant on powers since If Everythin' Ain't Burnin' Yer Doin' It Wrong. Just not really my bag I guess!
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKERS
Now that I have all of my warframe abilities equipped on my Valkyr I'm starting to think that the Keyboard and Mouse are a better choice than my 360 controller. Selecting and using abilities on the fly is much too tedious to be effective. Guess I should give up playing on my tv from my couch?
Is there an option or feature that's faster and more intuitive than using the D-pad to select abilities? How are you PS4 plasters managing?
God damn it this game's updater can just eat a dick. What's the point of a progress bar if it just hangs at "checking for new content" for a year and a day?
Damn orokin cell invasion's gonna be over long before I can finish!

Just had my third crash in the fomorian special mission. I think I'll focus on homework but it looks like I'm never getting electricity to shoot out of my soma.
Where's this special mission? Do I need to use one of the keys to get to it?
You can piggy-back in on someone else's key. Which is significantly less effort. There tend to be groups forming up in the Recruiting channel. Also you can check out the Warframe ventrilo for a group.
I'm back, whooo!
Does anyone want to run Tower II Mobile Defense or Tower III Survivals today? I'm kind of not feeling the pugs, and I want dat Rhino Prime!
Where's this special mission? Do I need to use one of the keys to get to it?
Basically do the special node on Earth (it's super noticable). Use those bits to build a key, use the key and invite PA bros to do the mission. Get stuff tommorow for doing it.
Or just chat in Clan/Vent if you want to skip making your own key.
Imagine the Smart Gun from Aliens, but the gun part is made up of a pair of twin-linked gorgons. The 'smart-gun' part, basically the rig carrying the two guns, could be of tenno design or origin to represent cheaper tenno construction or 'field work'
This harness could also fit two Somas. Probably modified to have the mag feed down than up.
It would be a heavy weapon, so heavy that there would be a mild speed penalty for lighter frames. Medium frames would have an even more modest speed penalty (Excalibur, etc), and finally heavy frames (rhino, frost) would have no speed penalty.
I wish I had any artistic ability. Words don't work well enough.

Thanks for the vault runs guys - picked up some great mods!
Finally got my Soma cooked, along with Oberon, Rhino, Valkyr, and Nyx... Time to get to leveling them frames, then agonize over which to potato (all of them probably oh god so weak).
So I'm going through my inventory and cleaning out obsolete gear. With a potato'd Soma there's really no use for the Braton, Karak or Burston anymore is there? Gorgon Wraith will be a straight upgrade over the Gorgon so that's another slot freed up. I feel apprehensive about selling back melee weapons until after Melee 2.0 hits because who knows what former trash will suddenly become god-tier?
Also, Sentinels: Carrier and Dethcube are maxed out; is the Djinn or its weapon any good? I've been stocking up on Mutagen Masses in all the outbreaks, but it'll be a while before I get the two Formas. I should probably just grab Shade/Ghost in the meantime.
Must continue the search for Barrel Diffusion, farming Infested Defense to wave 15. Maybe alternate with Elara Survival and The Hunt For Pathogen Rounds.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKERS
I mean, it's the only sentinel I have but it does so much work to keep me alive.

What do you folks like for automatic side arms? I've got potato'd akstilettos and love them, but don't want to forma them if there's something else out there. And if not, I'm not sure how to go with the forma. I assume I just find the mod I'd like to use that has the highest cost and go from there?
I built Djinn last week and have been enjoying it. It's not super durable or anything, but it's weapon is pretty good. I'll probably put it on my Carrier once I get Djinn to level 30 and inevitably switch back to The Best Sentinel.
I really can't live without having resources brought to me, it saves so much time and hassle trying to pick up drops in random nooks and crannies. I miss it.
Well if you hold down fire, the despairs come out pretty fast...
The problem with auto-pistols is that the amount of ammo you get per drop is fixed, and not balanced for a whole clip a second, so you're out after the 2nd engagement

Haven't seen the dude that drops those knives - would love them, since the kunai are my 2nd favorite. Got maxed pistol ammo, mutate, and ice/mag capacity, so haven't had any ammo issues so far. Using akstilettos in corpus defense/survival with magnetism and they destroy. I'll probably forma them for whatever polarity slot that straight damage mod is (hornet strike I think).

Kunai/Hikou/Despair are all good (though I haven't tried the despair, but it's a steroid version of Kunai so...). Their ammo economy is good, their damage output is good (good enough that they're Top Tier material against Grineer, and sufficient against almost anything else), their accuracy is good.
Embolist is one that I haven't tried, and it's sufficiently unique that I wouldn't even try to judge it without personal experience.
The rest are more classical autopistols and of those I'd rank 3 of them as high-quality weapons.
Twin Gremlins, Akstilettos, Twin Wraith Vipers
They're all pretty different beasts.
The Twin Gremlins fire projectiles, which makes them less effective at long range. However, they hit hard, they're decently accurate and their ammo economy is WAY above the rest of the autopistols (not on par with Despair or even Kunai, but better than Hikou). Twin Gremlins also come with a "V" polarity, and that makes them a solid choice. Their even spread between slash/puncture/impact also contributes to their versatility. They're also hilarious for their tendency to "pin" enemies.
Twin Wraith Vipers were an event only item, so either you have them or you don't (and so far we've never seen a Wraith or Vandal item on the market or as a drop). They waste enough ammo (through inaccuracy and overkill) that you really can't use them as an "all the time" sidearm, but if you really need the sweep the floor with something they have a hellish damage output and short and medium range. No sidearm challenges the Wraith Vipers in terms of damage output.
Akstiletto straddle the edge between sufficient and insufficient ammo economy. But they're automatic and very accurate, which puts them above anything but my other two Top Picks.
P.S: If you're going to forma your Akstiletto there is no question what type of polarity you should choose. "V"-slot it for Hornet Strike and/or Barrel Diffusion.

It's also worth noting that they have a really good status chance which gives them a bit of hidden damage. I'd say their big downside is the way the magazines load which can be kinda fucking annoying.
I know you said auto sidearms but I really cannot stress enough how massively, ridiculously overpowered amazing the Marelok is.
It's semi-auto but you never really need more bullets. Its fire rate is way faster than you would think given its nature as a lever-action sawed-off sniper rifle. It has considerably less recoil than the Lex. The chief complaint people make is that it isn't as accurate as a sniper rifle but after getting it to 30 I can safely say "That shit don't matter, son." You don't need to headshot anything with this monster. It's more than accurate enough for body shots at long range, and those body shots leave an exit wound big enough to toss a cat through.
The other night a bunch of us were in Vent farming Infested Defenses up to wave 15-25. I think we had a WoF-spamming Ember and a Vauban with a Penta. I was holding even on damage % using only the Marelok and really no powers. And that's with a half-ranked Hornet Strike, no multishot, no Formas, just a potato'd gun at 30.
I cannot recommend it enough. Thing is a beast.

The status-chance IS quite good, something like 43% with just a Poison/Status mod. What's annoying about the magazines? Re-load animation? The magazine animation (each magazine has a glowing "bullet bar" that shows how much ammo there is in them)? It can't be the reload time, because that's one of its great strengths.

That's not Dakra Prime, as DP can hit up to three targets.
Which is sad that they had to give it such great ability to counteract the normal worthlessness.
Wonder if I should potato it now...
