You shut your mouth, making me want to sell my kids shoes for Steambux.
I'm renting my kid out to strangers for Stanley Parable. Any takers? He's horribly opinionated, makes very inappropriate comments, and isn't much help around the house... so basically a small version of me.
If anybody is planning on Amazon Wish List donating for Child's Play, I'd also say to check out the new Amazon Smile thing they have going. Log in via Smile and the charity of your choice gets 0.5% from your purchase, no strings attached. It's not a lot but I'm sure it adds up in the long run. So you can donate to Child's Play and have a small amount go to another charity, or double down and get that extra bit of money to Child's Play (which I think is registered on there as well).
I kicked in a little for my local CP hospital, though I'll probably give a bit more if I can later.
A game so bad it was pulled by the publisher. Too bad. This could have been the new Bad Rats.
The part about this that really gets me is that they released it, then, after the outcry, said, "Oh, wait - we take it back."
WTFH were they thinking releasing it in the first place?
I daresay they were hoping against hope that it'd get lost in the November deluge, but considering the Ashes are on right now (well, recommencing this Thursday) there was no chance the awfulness was going to go by unnoticed. Considering it's a licensed title as well, they may have been contractually obligated to release something? One of the main reasons it got cancelled and pulled from sale is to not sully the brand.
Given how much the internet has commented that nobody knows how cricket works, especially Americans, I feel it is my duty as a cricket-knowledgeable Aussie to provide some sort of educational material for this thread. I get back from work in a few days so I'll see if I can sort something out to tie into the current fundraising

This game was supposed to come out months ago, during the other part of the Ashes tournament.

I haven't seen that as an option, but they should allow this for digital purchases. Imagine if every Amazon digital download could also benefit charities.

It might? I can put a digital download to purchase and it still says I'm supporting the charity. I dunno, let me poke around and see if that would be eligible.
Edit: hrm, maybe not. Found an article where it says digital isn't eligible, at least not yet?

if you go to http://smile.amazon.com you should be able to buy anything with it. I can browse all the digital offerings, but too broke to actually check out yet.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.

I thought about doing that, but it turns out I'm too dumb to figure out how to find their wishlist any other way than the link on the child's play website that just takes you to regular amazon.

I know with Chrome you can get a plugin that automatically redirects you to Smile, even if you're following the link. Also makes it easier when I forget to type in the smile URL for general Amazon shopping.
The way I see it, the best gift I can give to a child in the hospital is the passage of time for healing without boredom, anxiety, or pain. There were books and movies on the wishlist, but those won't soak up the hours like an RPG.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

I believe they argued to get an extra few months development time because the Ashes were gonna happen again later this year. Ashes tournaments are self-enclosed 5 test match games, so the one that happened earlier this year and the one happening now are separate tournaments.
Considering the walloping we gave the poms in the first test, I have high hopes for a second bashing given Mitchell Johnson is in form
Very glad I picked up Skyrim but I totally suck at it. Tried magic, sneaky with a bow, sword & board, 2-handers but I generally get to lie down and take a snooze regularly. Fun though
So I'm going to try Goddus. It reminds me of Reus and that game was just awesome. So awesome I have copies waiting my itchy trigger finger during the winter sale.
Oh you gotta be kidding me....... a guy can't even take a shower without getting giftbombed. Brütal Legend and Dust are now in my backlog, although I might knock Dust out right away since it's pretty short. @Luchaire is on the list.....again. Revenge shall be mine.

@CorriganX I just tried it with a digital purchase. I know I chose Child's Play as my charity, but I have no idea if it SAYS part of my order of Alpha Protocol went towards Child's Play

Be cool if it did, though.
Products that are eligible for Amazon Smile say so over on the right side where you can Add to Cart. Digital games do not have this. I know that it said this outright whenever I signed up, although I'm not finding that information on the site anymore. I really hope they change things in the future so that the games count towards charity donations, too!

Shame, cause I also made some Secret Santa physical purchases that would have been eligible. Oh well. The season is young!
The worst thing about Steam... is the number of games I already own (on DVD or Origin or whatever) that I am tempted on occasion to re-buy just to own them on Steam.
Ashes Cricket 2013 actually looked entertaining in its awfulness, unlike Bad Rats.
As an Ugly American, every time I see "Ashes Cricket 2013" I imagine some post-apocalyptic cricket-themed RPG, like Metro 2033 only, you know, with less Russia and more cricket.
