I thought I'd already given a shout out for this, but it turns out I hadn't, so let us commence.
@MechMantis swooped onto my friend list (a glorious, magical place to be, come visit if you haven't already) and I was delighted. Sadly ulterior motives were had, and mere moments later I was the delighted owner of a brand new copy of Shadow Warrior.
Thank you so much Mech, you have all of the class.
I love this thread and everybody in it. You're all absolutely fucking great!
Well, with this round of flash sales, I totally feel like I got trolled by Valve.
Last night I bought my kid Natural Selection 2 at 75% off, thinking there was no real chance it was going any lower than that. Cue a 90% sale.
And then, for the first time this sale, something on my wishlist goes on a flash sale and it's a wimpy discount. FFS.
@Berylline is a classy monster and should be stopped! I'm now the delighted owner of a copy of Sparkle Evo, sparkles make everything better!
Honestly one of these days I am going to stop falling for this whole "Oh look, somebody wants to be my friend on Steam. That'll be ni-OH GOD THE GIFT AVALANCHE HAS ME. TELL MY MOTHER I LOVED HER!!!!!!"
This isn't over, it's never over!
Everyone is different. Everyone is special.

I was thinking about Airplanes because of a post on here about making up a story to win a copy of Starbound beta, so then I thought about Ace Patrol and then I thought about how I don't have it, so I started screwing around with the interwebs....victory!
Ace Patrol is $1.24 on Greenmangaming
They just throw you a key and you get Ace patrol for a buck and qtr. Seems hard to beat, and I have heard from others around here that it is pretty fun. Excited to give it a shot.

alright my final purchase
aoe2hd dlc, how to survive, anachronox, paranautical activity, defender's quest, unity of command, conquest of elysium 3
first 2 are daily and a flash and the rest haven't been afaik and I think the base sale prices are good enough since they're all on my wishlist, some at the tippy top for a while now. just gotta make sure I play them all at least a little bit before the xmas sale just in case. but even if they hit better sales, it won't even be a difference of $2 so I won't exactly feel bad.
edit - only thing I missed was hammerwatch, was before I realized the sale had started. that will wait for christmas sale
The new expansion for Endless Space is also on sale, for $2.50. It's supposed to add some pretty awesome stuff, so if you have the base game and want more, check it out. And if you're picking up the game for the first time, there's a bundle that has the game and the expansion together that you should get.
This literally just happened as I read this post and moved my mouse over to the Steam icon in my system tray to bring up the store.

Ace Patrol is such a good game, I can't stress enough how amazing it is especially for the GMG price. It's one of my favourite games that I own, which is no small accomplishment all things considered.
Also people must stop gifting me now. I'm broke and nothing makes me feel more terrible than people gifting me when I have no money to either gift them back or pay the love forward.
Think of my brain problems Steam thread, think of them and instead give your money to the sick children!

Ace Patrol is a lot of fun, but unfortunately it doesn't play nice with my laptop, which means I can't play it during the holidays. Which raises the question, what games do play nice on a laptop?
If you're like me, you might travel during the holidays, which means you don't have access to your desktop. But that doesn't mean you can't play your games on the holidays. No Sir/Ma'am! There are a large amount of games that play very nicely with onboard video, and give you a good gaming experience if you don't mind stepping down the graphic options a bit.
There are, however, some games that one would think would play nicely with a laptop, simply due to their lower end graphical style. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. Often times indie games are the biggest culprit and have less-than-optimized code which brings most laptops to a standstill. FEZ, for example, is one of those games that is completely unplayable on my laptop due to game lag.
So what games are enjoyable on a laptop? You may be surprised. For your sales consideration, I've selected the following, fairly well-received games that I know will play well with a decent processor and crappy video (for example my lappy has an Intel Core i3-2310M CPU that hardly burns up the charts in speed).
In strategy I can recommend: Civilization IV, Civilization V (using Direct X 9 option, v-sync disabled), Endless Space, Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes, Skyward Collapse, FTL: Faster than Light, Crusader Kings 2, Age of Empires 3, Galactic Civilizations II, Warhammer 40K Dawn of War Dark Crusade, Tropico 3, Magic the Gathering 2012 and 2013, King's Bounty: The Legend, Prime World Defenders, Frozen Synapse, Gratuitous Space Battles, Gratuitous Tank Battles, Reus, Long Live the Queen, Cities XL Platinum, Europa Universalis 3, Football Manager, Sword of the Stars Complete
In SPACE: Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity, X3: Terran Conflict, Flotilla, and Nexus: The Jupiter Incident.
In RPG and Action RPG: Skyrim & Oblivion (surprising, unfortunately Morrowind doesn't play as nice and has significant lag even on the lowest settings), Final Fantasy VII, the Penny Arcade Games: Episodes 3 & 4, the Spiderweb Software Games, Titan Quest, Freedom Force, Torchlight 1 & 2, Dungeons of Dredmor, Path of Exile.
In Action-ey games: Pinball FX 2, Pinball Arcade, Blood Bowl, Hammerwatch, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Team Fortress 2, System Shock 2, Space Pirates & Zombies, Hotline Miami, Gunpoint, Terraria, Don't Starve, Super Hexagon, Teleglitch, Doom, Doom 2, Hexen, Heretic, Quake 2, Star Wars: Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Duke Nukem 3d and Shadow Warrior Classic.
And in random odd-ball games: Kerbal Space Program, Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2 (not steam, but still fun!), Chainsaw Warrior, Divekick, Papers Please.
Hope this helps some people in their buying decisions!

I'm just really glad to see I'm not the only one who loved the shit out of 665.
I discovered it at like 1 AM a couple months back and power-read the whole thing that weekend. One of the ones I particularly liked was Sympathy for the Janitor.
Y'all are crazy for just jumping into the line of fire like that.
In other news, I have a morbid wish to become the top ranked player on raptr...for daikatana. I know. I'm insane.
Also, Far cry 3 is pretty great, guys. If it ends up being in the encore (If there is one), you should probably pick it up. It's not gonna get any cheaper next time.

The winter sale hasn't even started yet. At the current rates of classy per day, by the end of the month...
Oh. Oh my.
This is a direct result of @Spoit gifting me Stacking, and @Basil blowing my mind with the Endless Space DLC.
Been pretty busy the last couple between work and getting all the flooring downstairs torn up and replaced. But I managed to squeeze in a bit more time with Bleed today and witnessed what appears to be a bit of a tiff between @Luchaire and @Berylline. Figured I'd share.

You can still pick it up for yesterday's sale price! The dailies last for two days now.
And I agree. I'm having a lot of fun with Far Cry 3 so far. I had already played Blood Dragon a few months ago, so jumping into the "real" game was very easy to do. You're not nearly as powerful at the beginning of the game as you are in Blood Dragon, of course.
