@Drake because you haven't made us all spend enough money lately; how is Zigfrak? It looks fun, and I'm downloading the demo, but you're good at giving the highs and lows of these games.
I see that the Steam version of Saints Row The Third has some achievements that the 360 version didn't. Specifically, completing all activities in co-op and completing all missions in co-op.
I suppose most people have long ago moved onto Saints Row IV, eh?
As a mere pawn for @Malakius to get those cheevos with, I would encourage anyone willing to do so to make yourself avaialble to @DarkPrimus on this.
I found out a friend of mine has SR3 but hasn't played much of it, so he and I will probably run through most of it together, but I'm always down for some mayhem.

I really haven't spent much time with the game so I'm not totally comfortable with giving my impressions just yet. It's pretty shiny though, and there's lots of loot that comes flying out of exploding ships. I don't really remember much that was distinguishing about the game but that doesn't mean there isn't anything there, just that I haven't really scratched the surface one way or the other.
@Luchaire requested a drive total since our resident thread title controller is temporarily unavailable.
That total so far is $8,670.44, which is bonkers. You people are amazing.
Okay, Pixie dare time!
At $13,500 you jackasses get to rename me. That's $4,829.56 more... We have 5 days left. So that's just about $966 per day.
I think you can do it. In fact, I'm so confident that you guys can muster that much collective awesomeness, that I'm going to toss out this challenge:
---> If you cannot make $13,500 by the end of this thing, I'll ask @Tube to rename me in lost coin-toss style.*
You wouldn't let that happen, would you?
*Disclaimer:
Obviously, this is subject to Tube's approval/willingness.
Wait so if they don't make the money something funny happens?
Confession time - I didn't really donate anything, those screenshots were photoshopped. Sorry @Luchaire, I guess we're that much more likely to go with a Tube name change...
Just had my power supply carp the bed on me so I'll be away from steam for a week or three. I'm loving the amount of class I've seen in the past few pages though. As bad as I felt this afternoon I can't possibly be upset after reading about you fine folks and the good you do

Don't sweat it, I got your back.
It is weird to get into. At the beginning it doesn't really feel right. I can't really tell where the tutorial ends. It seems to be when you're given three separate quests, but past that other quests teach you things and reward fundamental equipment, like a mining laser. The weapons autolock, which would seem to reduce much of the combat, and occasionally it seems like your weapons aren't doing much of anything. This seems to be where the massive amount of ammo types come in. Also, their so-called humorous story is tired, unimaginative memes, one after another, from the Set Us Up the Bomb quest, to the Don't Lase Me Bro status debuff, to the Bear Skryllis NPC, who needs you to fix his urine filtration system.
Having said that, the game is actually fun. The ships look interesting, if a bit too shiny. Lots of crafting and resources to collect. The universe is kind of instanced in that you jump to sectors instead of fly to them. Enemies scale with your level, and your equipment. You'll find yourself fighting enemies a good dozen levels above you because your equipment is good enough that it pushes your threat level above your same level enemies, making them a pushover. It's a nice way to keep enemies close to you while still having a feeling of progression. Loot comes fast and hard, and get mighty fucking ludicrous. For instance, I found a drone launcher that throws out just six drones instead of one. Then I found tactical nuke drones.
Wife got me a comfy new office chair from which to play my computermatronic games as an early Christmas present since we're going out of town. She's pretty great.
Okay, nevermind. Bad idea, seemed like a good idea at the time... Sorry all.
Your punishment will be swift and harsh.
I sentence you to change your name on the whims on the Steam thread if the donation level reaches $13,500. May God have mercy on your soul *slams gavel*

that way lies danger
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Maybe it should have been the other way around then... :P

Schadenfreude, rising!
We can spoil one person's fun by not donating.
Or we can spoil the entire internet's fun by scraping together another five geez.

Kind of weird difficulty spikes in the game though

Then there's missile launchers that shoot multiple warheads that break up into multiple warheads.
I desperately wish it was multiplayer though. However, at 2.50, it is worth a shot if ARPG's are your thing.

To be fair, losing the coin toss virtually always ended up in something more interesting than what the forumer wanted in the first place.
I may or may not know this from personal experience.
