NOOO MY FIRST RUN WITH THAT DECK IS AGAINST A MAGE WITH 5 FIREBALLS
GOD IS CRUEL
Yet I think you'd have to admit the situation is full of delicious irony.
Whose fire is stronger?
My last several shaman decks have had zero of all the good shaman cards Unsurprisingly, they have not done so well. (like...no bloodlusts, lightning storms, fire elementals, etc)
I did get to earth shock a loot hoarder once, and that was totally worth it!
Mages have two spells that deal more than 3 damage directly, and one that does four situationally with less card draw. They have two AOE cards which are very good. Hero power supplements nicely, but it's the minions and card draw that win this.
Warlocks have one spell that does over 3 damage directly, and one AOE that does 3 damage to everything.
Druid minions are better than mage ones by a large margin since the have a utility silence/2 damage minion with good HP, a utility taunt/charge minion, more card draw minions or a heal, and they can speed to late game. Oh and they can heal for a total of 26 without the help of minions. Please don't try using ice armor as an argument since druids have shapeshift/claw/bite.
um, we were talking about molten giant
Oh. Well you're still kinda wrong because I can heal for 21 (in my deck) so I don't die after putting it out there.
healing isn't as good as jaraxxus/ice block here
are you running sunfury protectors as well?
No protectors. And of course my three cards for 21 healing and a 5/5 minion isn't as good as Jaraxxus. I guess?
I can't believe I used to think Wild Pyromancer was bad. He pushes all of your board sweepers 1 point more and has a 3/2 body just in case you need to go aggressive and end up not needing his effect.
I dont think there are quite enough 'force draw' cards to really make a opponent burn deck. I've had one game that i went like 4 turns with no cards to draw, but i did that mostly to myself. I've watched the card count on some priests and gotten close but the games always ended before zero.
I had a pretty amazing mirror mage match that went down to both of us with no cards left. We'd been almost trading one for one all game. Over the course of the whole deck I built up a 2 or 3 card advantage though, so I won.
We were both being extremely cautious so as not to lose to aoes, so it took a while to see who won even after the fatigue damage started.
Apparently I have the habit of picking arena decks where I'm in a fight just before a nerf hits, last time it was a priest with 4 mind controls, this time it is a mage w/ 4 cone of colds and a blizzard
currently 9-2, I played 5 of the games before the patch hit because I suspect after the hit I wont be able to win anymore (can't combo baron geddon and cone of cold)

Did the beta just crash for anyone else? Some kind of pixie error message?
Yeah it went down for scheduled maintance, but it went down like 10 minutes early. I had just won an arena game, so hopefully that recorded as a win and not a drop.
I finally did my first arena run over the weekend. I had drafted a Shaman deck with 1 Lightning Bolt, 1 Stormforged Axe, 1 Flametongue Totem, 1 Lightning Storm, 0 Hexes, 1 Bloodlust, and 1 Fire Elemental. No taunts, because the only ones I ever got offered were like the gorilla and mogu'shan warden. One game I was able to use the Fire Ele's battlecry three times because I had drafted two pandas as well.
I went 9-3, so I must not be that bad at the game, even though I caught myself making a mistake about once per game (usually right after clicking end turn). I only got a "measly" 170 gold for 9 wins, so I'd agree, anecdotally, that the patch nerfed the rewards somewhat overall.
yeah but what order were your wins and losses. You may not have noticed but the "Key" that unlocks the rewards improves and weakens with wins and losses. If you won 9 in a row, then lost 3 in a row, you essentially had a win ratio of 6, which is consistant with 3 boxes of prizes i think.
How are people doing in ranked? Experimenting with how far I can get with all Murloc all the time. Currently 15.
Slowly climbing, I'm on the high end of rank 14 as of yesterday. I think it will be easier for me to rank up after this frost Mage nerf since less Mages will be on the ladder, but I'm not sure. I need to get used to playing my deck more, it's hard to play control in this game unless you're a Frost Mage because the cards all have different uses based on what deck you're fighting against. Against some decks, like Paladins, I even have to play aggro; if I don't, I have to win by fatigue.

No it doesn't, and what you are saying isn't even internally consistent.

I have wondered if the rewards are adjusted for how the opponents you beat are doing. Because I got 170 for 7 once. It could also just be random, of course. Or the order could matter, because the competition is much worse if you go 0-2 than at 2-0. At least anecdotally.
Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.

Pretty sure the Devs have done interviews about arena rewards. Pretty sure there are just larger loot tables than in the previous patch, they did this to make it more exciting in there minds since you didn't know what your were going to get, not just gold/dust. This results in typically less gold dust since those spots are then taken up with these other rewards. The joke is that all we really want is more gold to play more arena.

Even if this were true, the order of your wins and losses would make no difference unless you're willing to retire early. That said, if this is a real thing I might have to rethink some stuff. It seems like every Arena run starts 6-0 or 7-0, and then I lose 3 straight. Maybe I should just start retiring at 6 and be happy with my 9-wins prize.
It plays an animation after a loss, but I just assumed it was the "upgrade" from the previous win I had gotten. I'll look harder next time.
Considering that 12 wins gives you the Celestial key (or whatever the highest level key is called) regardless of how many losses you have, I'm 100% certain that people are just seeing the previous upgrade animation play after a loss and confusing it for something else.

Yes. It's a graphical bug. It plays the upgrade animation after every game, win or lose.

He only had two two drops, Mind Blast and Mind Blast...
That's one of the few quotes in the game that actually irks me.
Making my guy have 1 damage isn't following the fucking rules, that's you making new ones Aldor you jackass.
Cruel....or just?
no justice involves a victorious mage
He's a paladin, they're self important by nature. His rules are the rules!
but you have 5 fire elementals
I am worried your concept of justice might be a little skewed :P

Then he silenced it, which reverted his attack back to normal.
Follow the rules! Seemed oddly appropriate there.

This is totally incorrect.
Nourish at the bottom of my deck every time.
