So for anyone that doesn't have a PS4 that wants one, apparently Wal-Mart is getting in their biggest shipment since launch this Sunday, the 15th

The only friend of mine who doesn't have one yet is going to try ensuring he gets one by heading there after our D&D game and waiting it out

PS+ members in Europe (and various other countries) get DmC, Borderlands 2, Soul Sacrifice and Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend on Christmas Eve.
They also get Don't Starve for PS4 in January.

Oh man, I forgot how much I put into Ridiculous Fishing. I never went back and did the new stuff though. I had the full fishopedia and all the purchased stuff.

I haven't bought ten new games this year, but I have certainly spent a lot of time on the games I played. In order of most time spent

    1. Dota 2 - 500-700 hours (Steam says 703, but I got into the beta last year)
    2. Fire Emblem - 342 hours
    3. Pokemon Y - 239 hours
    4. Mass Effect Multiplayer - 289 hours on record, at least half since the last DLC
    5. Civ V & BNW - 189 hours (bought both this year, a month or two apart)
    6. Etrian Odyssey IV - 119 hours
    7. XCOM: EW - ~110 hours

What's crazy is that I have like 50 titles I've never played through PS+, but just haven't spent any time with them.

I had a top 12 arduously narrowed down to top 10 but then I realized I'd forgotten a game and... here's my top 10.
    1. The Last of Us
    2. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
    3. Grand Theft Auto V
    4. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
    5. Guacamelee!
    6. Tearaway
    7. NBA 2K14
    8. BioShock Infinite
    9. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger
    10. Tomb Raider

Gunpoint for top 11th game of the year.

Apparently I skew closer to games with narrative than the outright narrative of a Gone Home or Stanley Parable. Also, turns out I can name close to fifteen games better than Brothers.

    Top Ten:

    5. Rogue Legacy
    6. Bioshock Infinite

    • Zeno Clash II
    • Brothers: Tale of two sons

There are many, many games better than Brothers this year

I'll do a top 5 because I think these 5 stand head and shoulders above the rest:

    1. Tomb Raider
    2. Fire Emblem Awakening
    3. The Last of Us
    4. Gone Home
    5. Antichamber

I'm not really married to that order though, all 5 were pretty close.

It wasn't length, it was more like

What if one/both end super shitty and change your opinion of the game

But if you feel that strongly about it then go for it

I'm at work. Why does Jeff love Rush Limbaugh?

He doesn't. A CBS affiliate used the giantbomb gaming minute with Jeff Gerstmann: Killer Instinct Is Pretty Good Edition as filler during a commercial break, and the lobby to not have your company on the Limbaugh (courtesy of DailyKos) show got a hold of it and wrote emails. Jeff told them it wasn't a commercial and they are off the list.

Rune Factory 4 and Steamworld Dig are games I've not seen anyone mention that are pretty good. Steamworld Dig is like 8 bucks, and Rune Factory 4 is a bajillion hours of gameplay.

    That's my top 10

Things that came out this year that I think a lot of people forgot were this year or have been overlooked:

    Dead Space 3
    Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
    Resogun
    Rise of the Triad
    Rogue Legacy
    Shadowrun Returns

I did not think Blood Dragon was that good, compared to Far Cry 3. The 'humor' was just too dumb.
Rogue Legacy was neat but I am just too bad at it to really enjoy it.
Shadowrun Returns is on my to-play list, I guess Dead Space 3 is too.
Resogun looks neat but no PS4 yet, Rise of the Triad doesn't interest me.

    I guess mine are

    Fire Emblem
    AC4
    Gunpoint
    Pokemon
    FFXIV
probably Zelda somewhere once I get it
    Ridiculous Fishing was cool
    Animal Crossing
    GTAV I guess?

    uhhh

I know I played more stuff than that, my backlog is crazy. but those are the ones that stand out.

For me a good metric to judge open world games is how much time I spend with them after I beat the main story. I haven't booted up GTAV since the credits rolled. Not a bad game, but not any better than average.

Guys I have this single freakishly long hair hanging behind my ear that I just found and I'm like is this my hair? How long has it been there? If I tug on it a little it hurts so it feels like mine!

It's way longer than my other hair!
