Aspiring Video Game Music Guy

Hello! Thanks for checking out my thread.

I've been playing in bands for about thirteen years, but I've only recently begun seriously focusing on my solo work. My heart is set on making music for video games (of the smaller, indie nature), but I know I'm not good enough. Not yet. This is why I'd love some good, brutal critique of my work. Any help at all would be appreciated! (I'll also accept the occasional compliment, if you are so inclined)

This one was inspired by Jim Guthrie (Sword & Sworcery EP) and Disasterpeace's work on Fez. I wanted to write an uplifting climax track. A payoff. I'm pretty happy with this one, but it's definitely not past revision.

This is my newest track, and it's definitely a work in progress. I've been at it for days, and I'm stumped, so any critique/advice would be most appreciated!

Here's a piano track I did for a film trailer that was never released. I struggle a great deal with piano music, and it's something I'm working hard at, but since I don't have any formal training, it's going a bit slow. I think I'm at my best when I keep it simple, but this one might be a bit too simple.

This is an old chiptunes track I did. It's definitely the most "gamey" of my tunes. I like it, but I'm having a hard time coming back to this style.

Anyway, thanks for listening.

Oh! Also, if anybody feels like being super nice and helpful, I have this notion that it could be fun/valuable to practice writing music to fit a theme. I could treat it like an audition of sorts. Give me some text about game tone/setting/genre, maybe some phony concept art, any stylistic preferences or requests to consider, that sort of thing. I've heard of people doing that when trying to land a music gig, but as of yet, I haven't been able to pull anything like that off. Is that a preposterous/inappropriate request?

So I may have gotten a gig on a little rogulike(like). Nothing is certain yet, but the designer says he's into ambient tunes, and wants it to sound "oppressive" and "deep". Anyway, I've got a few directions I've been working in, but this one is easily my favourite, and also the weirdest. It's not at all "fantasy" sounding, and may be totally inappropriate, but I can see it being a scary/lonely soundtrack to a dangerous dungeon crawl.

This is just a sketch, and I'd definitely add more variation to a finished piece, but I was looking for some critiques on it while it's young. Is this shit??
