A library, Dorian noted, is much like a man's mind. The further you delve into it, the narrower it becomes. In front of him, a cloud of dust arose from each step of the librarian.
The librarian smiled. “Don't want to surprise anyone back here. Mostly just the cats and mice, but ever so often you find someone who thinks the back stacks are more private than their own room. Or more than one someones.” He winked knowningly.
Dorian shuddered at the thought of the old man walking in on one of his liaisons. It also occurred to him that a woman might be an even better metaphor for the library. “I'm just looking for information about Choregus, old man, not an assignation.”
“Spending time in the dark with a beauty like Choregus? An assignation seems to be exactly what you have in mind. Not that she isn't worth every moment. Her very name has set men's blood afire in their veins. Even those who managed to have her have found that keeping her is the far more difficult task.” The old man stopped before a large shelf.
Dorian sneezed. “Well, which one is it old man?”
It took him a moment to realized the weezing sounds was the old man laughing. “Boy, Choregus is not some trollop to be taken down once and replaced as soon as you have finished. She is a queen that demands time and passion. More men have died for her than ever lived within her protection. The life of a man is far to short to ever satisfy her. She demands generations. Which one of these is the history of the city of Choregus?
“They all are.”
Phalla Generations

Special Rules
Each player has two specific pieces of information: Their family name and their sign. Family names are unique. Sign are explained below.
Village specials are the chosen of specific deities of Choregus. Every player (both village and mafia) have a sign associated with one of the deities. Every night, a village special may choose a player to pass along their blessing to. If they are killed that night AND their target shares their sign, they will pass along their abilities to their target. If they do not have a player selected or the target does not share a their sign, the power will be dormant for one day, then reappear on a random eligible player.
Example: SaberOverEasy is a vig and has the sign of the North Star. He targets MrBlarney to pass along his ability. MrBlarney also has the sign of the North Star. If Saber is killed that night, MrBlarney would become the vig and be able to choose another player to pass his power along to. If MrBlarney does not have the North Star sign, no one will have the vig power the next day. On the following day, a new vig will be chosen randomly out of all the players (both village and mafia) with the North Star sign.
Guarding and vigging are both additive. Each guard cancels out a single vig. For example, if Saber is targeted with a single vig and a single guard action, he will survive. However, if he is targeted with two vig actions and one guard action, he will be killed.
Sample Village PM:
You are the
Saber family, a loyal family of the Nirun in Choregus. You carry the sign of the
OverEasy.
You win when all of the threats to the Nirun of Choregus have been eliminated.

I read the OP . This seems like we are depending on a bit of luck to not have a superpowered mafia vs handicapped village. Woooo!

YOU GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY GOOGLE DOCS YOU SHITBOGGART
Does each family sign only have one power assigned to it? If not, can a single person take on more than one of their sign's powers?
I'm just ahead of my time INANTP :P

Because clearly you are the only person who can have ideas.
Each sign has only one power associated with it.
Either the change in tense in idea-similarity-claiming markedly changed the tone of the response, or I really need to change this avatar.
There we go, far less threatening avatar.

Clearly you are both ripping off Obi in some fashion. ;-)
And everyone is ripping off Blarnfidel. I think they should sue everyone in this game.
Except me.
I'll be busy all weekend with my older son's 7th birthday, so internetting will be minimal.
If we start monday, though, I can totally play
We'll start once we get enough people. I know this is a busy time for people, and if that means we're not going to have enough people until Monday, I'm happy to wait til then. If we get enough before then, we'll start either tomorrow or with a long weekend day.
I'm ACTUALLY ripping off [CENSORED]. You all just don't know it yet

I'm definitely flexible on the start time. If people prefer waiting til Monday to get started, I'm happy to hold off.
