I have a few games from the Humble Bundle that I'm not interested/not sure if my laptop can handle. I'm not high level on Steam to do the steamgifts either, so please be kind and let me know if you take the gift codes below so I can marked them off.
Awesome of you, @cookiekrush, I've attempted to redeem Strike Suit Zero! Not quite sure how to actually get the game in my inventory, but, it says it was successful, and I'm confident it'll show somehow at some point. ;-)
Edit: Ahh, it just sort of... stealth shows? Anyhow, downloading, and again, thanks!
I have to admit, I'm not really enjoying the gun play in Chronicles of Riddick: Esacape From Butcher Bay. Enemies do too much damage and your own guns are way too inaccurate to consistently land headshots. I wanted to play this as a ninja, shanking dudes from the shadows, but it seems the game is equal parts sneaking / shooting.
There are occasional posts (moreso around the holidays, and a few more lately) where people ask for recommendations for games that will run on older hardware.
I wonder if it would be worthwhile to start building a database of games on Steam that run well on these types of machines. A database with full reviews instead of three sentence primers, so that people can have something to look through for game suggestions if they're broke (my 3DMark is lower than my credit score), on the road (I'm stuck in a hotel with a work laptop), or visiting family over the holidays (I'm stuck at my grandma's house and the only PC I have access to is her ancient single core Dell budgetbox kiiiiiiiiilllll meeeeeee).
Especially with the push toward indie games that aren't optimized well and the fact that most devs seem to pick their official system requirements by throwing darts at a spinning wheel, so you can't really reliably judge how much power a lot of games need by how they look or the store page anymore.
This gets complicated because some titles, like SSO:Rebellion, function on older systems but are not "supported." This nuance with system requirements makes it hard to develop a database. Time makes a good rule of thumb.

So how is the pinball game? I used to love Sonic Spinball back in the genesis days but don't think I've played one since. I always felt like pinball is a bit of a tactile game.

Pinball FX2 is really good fun and there are quite a few of us here enjoying it, I'd recommend giving the free table (Sorcerer's Lair) a try to see if you like it as it's a really good table to learn on
I just watched Three Musketeers. I now want a swashbuckling combat game, fuck sake video games why can't you just tailor everything to my whimsy? For real though, can anybody think of anything on steam that fits the bill? I'm probably missing something super obvious, but I can't bring anything to mind.
Also I started playing Banner Saga. Really glad I backed the kickstarter for it, so pretty and decent fun to boot.
I already knew that steam occasionally changed the appID of a game and then used a redirect. For instance, you can go to appID 33910 for ARMA 2 and it will redirect you to the store page at 33900.
And people can have that old appID in their game list. You can look at @Big Classy and see 33910 in his tentacled clutches, while I got it later and have 33900.
I did not realise that using the little checkbox to filter for games you both own uses the appIDs in the game lists without the redirect. We both own ARMA 2 but if I filter for games we both own it will not be listed.

@TPSou is the best, gave me a copy of Next Car Game. Tried 1 race so far and within 30 seconds of the start 4 cars were totalled and I was facing the wrong direction. The game is amazing looking and the damage modeling is super interesting. Can't wait to try it some more, I loves me some racing games and this one promises to be super interesting as it goes further along the development cycle. Thanks again.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.

The latest IndieGala bundle just added Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage. Definitely tempted by this one, as it seems like there are some quality games in there.

It also explains how I have Deus Ex: Human Revolution in my wishlist, and the advanced Steam plugin doesn't recognize it even as a game that I own, considering that I own it, all the DLC, and even the Director's Cut.
I think it was because I added it as soon as it popped into "Comming Soon" territory, and that was at least 6 months away from the actual release (which I preordered, but on GMG.)

...well, shit. Thanks for Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage!
I owe @Berylline a thanks for sending me Ace Patrol! Historical warplanes and cards...this looks like the tabletop games I look at wistfully at the store but never buy because my real-life friends would never want to play it with me!

Damn I really want Deadly Premonition, but I hear the PC port is even worse than Dark Souls initially was. Are they going to patch it at all?
If you have your game on Steam it should update through sodding Steam. No Nether, you are not 40MB and it is not convenient in the slightest to have to open you separately to update you.

I definitely agree for games like Nether. If it's not an MMO, then the updates should be through Steam.

Why did I stop playing Battlefield 2? Ah yes, the dlc packs and accompanying patches that left me spending more time downloading exe's than playing the game.
Bionic Dues is on sale this week for only $2.50. It is an incredibly fun, satisfying game - one of my favorites of last year.
Quickie giveaway:
Enter this. If you win, go play! If you don't, shake out the sofa cushions or shovel someone's walk or turn in some aluminum cans or something and grab a copy this week while it's on sale for less than a fancy coffee.
I was bitten by a radioactive @Rikdaly giving me the strength, reflexes, and senses of a pinball master allowing me to beat @Viking's top score on the Spiderman pinball table by 19 million.
That gives me 3 high scores now. Hopefully, I won't get any sort of comeuppance in the form of one of my beloved scores to getting tragically gunned down.
Even if I forget that with great pinball power comes great pinball responsibility, I'm sure I can always count on at least one high score to continue to cling to life well beyond responsible life expectancy.
In the unlikely event I lose them all, then it's deal with the devil time.
Oh no you did not just loot my stuff. I'm out here freezing to death, subsisting on berries and mushrooms and pills, and you're taking my hard-earned pots and arrows? That's it, I got no fucks left to give, let's throw down. Yeah, throw your little punkass spear, I'm still coming for you!
Ow! Ow, it hit my leg! Goddamnit, now I'm bleeding! No, y'know what? Fuck that, you're still going down. I'll knock your ass on the ground and kick you to death out of spite. Yeah, yeah! Fuck you, fuck yo' couch, bet you wish you didn't pick on the guy with 90% quality boots now!

Man, all this shouting is making me hungry. Be a shame to let all this meat go to waste.
I was minding my business catching up on work and forums (after a lunch-break session of Mechwarrior and World of Warplanes), when out of the blue, @iolo hit me upside the head with something that checks off a bunch of my favorite genre boxes:
"Turn based, roguelike, mech building..." Thanks for Bionic Dues, I look forward to firing it up soon.

It makes me so happy to see people just get NEO Scavenger. When it clicks and all the pieces come together it does post apocalyptic survival like nothing else. It's the RPG I'm the most excited about these days and it has been so much fun to watch it grow up.

Neoscavenger is the best thing I've forgotten and remembered.
Right, the wife's away for the week, so I can finally get some gaming in. O f course we had to go to the station at 5AM so I may be a little loopy. However:
1. @CorriganX snuck up on me with a copy of Papa & Yo. This is awesome. I hear it's a lot of fun - and yes, apparently it will teach me not to own every bundle ever. A valuable lesson learned there.
2. While I was typing this, I saw @iolo pointing out that Bionic Dues was on sale. Which is awesome, because it looks awesome, and as the wife is away I have a few days to eat ice cream, watch crappy sci-fi and play some games. So I go to the client to pick it up, and find @iolo has beaten me to it, with a gift of a mechanised war division. Thanks man.
Obviously both of the above are classholes of the highest order and will be first against the wall when the revolution comes will have to be dealt with appropriately.
Edit: And when I closed that gift window I saw another Bionic revolution simulator from @Drake - I hate you all.

@dav3yb
Thank you! Another game the kids can play!
I hear it has ass netcode, and I'm not paying that sort of money for a game that can't get it's online act together.

It's perfectly functional in single player too.

I know we have that code thing but I have no idea how to do it, so sue me god you're not even my real mom
What are these glorious codes for BigDes? I fear putting codes into steam that I may own, or that someone else may be able to enjoy more than I.
It also explains how I have Deus Ex: Human Revolution in my wishlist, and the advanced Steam plugin doesn't recognize it even as a game that I own, considering that I own it, all the DLC, and even the Director's Cut.

Don't worry about already owning them, if you do Steam just says you already own it and the code remains unused
As for the rest
It is a mystery
...well, shit. Thanks for Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Rampage!
All codes already claimed by someone. Thanks though!
But than I want to upgrade my weapons. So I need to farm those gem things.
But than I want to beat proving grounds.
So I waste time, and still haven't beaten it. I'm terrible at clearing backlog.
It's [codes ]<code here> [/codes ] without the spaces for 1, I believe you just do a newline for more, gives them out in order.
Sorry I forgot to say thanks man, I appreciate it!
