Getting smashed out there this morning. Most games, everyone picks hard carries and I'm left to support. Other games, we'll have 2 supports and I'll end up buying wards and courier as Lycan about 2-3 minutes in because I nobody else will.

So frustrating.
Weekend dota dude. I played a bunch yesterday and every game I could have swore my team was drunk. One game, a dude with enough wins that he really should have known better, ran a suicidal dark seer who fed the shit out a bounty hunter. The rest of my team, also not realizing how to play against bounty would go off on kamikaze runs into our jungle chasing a low health hero, only to get lit up by guess who? Bounty. He ended the game 34-2. I kept pleading with them to not chase, to carry vision, and to stick as 5, but nope. A bunch of other games ended up with someone feeding a death prophet, who would then eat us alive.
Ice really needs to knock her movespeed down a notch. 1 game she got so fed she had 27 bloodstone charges.
I'm not a huge fan of the serpent warding tower thing, because it's so good for early fights. Later on (esp with multiple people TPing), they can also chase you off/nuke you and take out the wards unless you're microing them to blow up the squishy.
It is situational, but there are times you can drop them to either force a fight on tower, quickly burn it down, or forcing TPs when something is about to happen on another part of the map.
Level 1: As long as the carry doesn't mind the tower going away, probably fine.
Level 2: Weigh your options carefully here, since you're gonna be SoL when fights happen.
Level 3: They're probably either going to defend the tower or you're going to try to race them with your ult. Not a fan.
Obviously it's different if you drop it on/near the tower during a fight, but trying to solo towers once you get past the laning phase is usually questionable.
Also, remember: Never drop wards directly on structures! This is how you make your ult totally nonthreatening even to supports! Drop them in front or behind the tower in the normal pattern, so they actually have to get in range of multiple wards to kill them off instead of picking them off one by one!
I had a game where we were doing fine, kills are about equal, we've got four to five of the enemy towers down and they have none of ours, but we had an asshole on our team and a mediocre player on the team. And then the asshole pisses off the mediocre player enough that he and his (quite capable) buddy leave. And then we get rolled.
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.

Yeah, i mostly use mass serpent wards to kill towers early-game OR late-game when the enemy team is not around (due to being dead).
I think Prophet's ultimate needs a longer cool-down. Or something. It's perfect for killing just about everything.
It's going to be really shitty when she finally gets an agh's upgrade.
I actually had a fun game as abaddon last night relating to this -- they had DP and pugna and pushed down all the T2s, and top T3 and ranged rax. I was Abaddon, and eventually realized that if I just ran at her I could take most of the aggro from ghosts and go from full to 400, back up to full, and then back to low/dead while my team dealt with everyone else.
On a related note, shield does not break lion's mana drain, but does seem to break pugna's but the animation also isn't cancelled? It seemed like he wasn't gaining hp after I shielded myself, but was still siphoning away.
Ye gods, had some just awful games last night. Last one I was playing Lion and I fed something 0-8 in the first 15 minutes of the game. My lane buddy Silencer and I just weren't on the same page and it caused too many early deaths. But we had a NP who did nothing but split push em. While they were farming kills on me, he was eating towers. It took over 70 min. but we ended up coming back to win. It never ceases to amaze me how much NP can swing a game.
Of course the enemy team sorta shot themselves in the foot by stacking shadowblades and not closing the door early.
I thought you were talking about Nature's Prophet for a bit.
That is also what I thought, and man that did not make much sense.
Ditto, but yeah DP is broken as hell right now. The damage and the CD are out of control. She's countered hard by burst damage, though. If you see her drafted just counterpick with lina or lion and another tanky burster like DK (don't mid against her though) or Timber. The moment she pops her ult you can just melt her if she misses one of you with silence.
I'm trying to think if there are any optimal mids to fight DP right now if player skills are even. TA may work, so could nyx. Beyond that it's a bit of a head scratcher...

Slow as shit with less disengage than OD means you just gank her.
At the very start of the lane she is. But as soon as she takes a passive and picks up brown boots, she's surprisingly quick. And she can farm from relative safety spamming her Q, so ganks get pretty hard. Well..beyond double support smoke ganks, which lets be honest, in the vast majority of pub games is never going to happen.
My big issue with her is she's just so fucking fast mid game. Often even with burst you're lucky if you kill her because once the cc is over she just zoidberg's out of there.
Yeah...I'm hard pressed to think of anyone who has a good lane against Huskar if he takes burning spears early. Though as soon as necro hits 6..Husk has to be reeeeeaaaal careful.
Worth it to pick up a Refresher Orb on Zeus for double Wrath? With a Scepter, it's like 1300 damage globally to the enemy team, which seems like an awfully great way to initiate a team fight.
... but it's Huskar. He literally does nothing after the laning stage, and even that can be a wash with a couple heroes. Tinker, Windrunner and Timbersaw are examples of heroes that completely dominate Huskar. Huskar doesn't utilize runes, and doesn't push very well - use both of those concepts to your advantage.
I've destroyed a huskar in VHQ match as SF going -armor aura instead of raze.
Also, Terrorblade and Phoenix rumored to be coming out in 6.80 alongside a new fun mode called Random Ability Draft or something - I think it was called LoD in Dota 1. They gave examples of Axe with Psi Blades or Luna with Hook. I remember doing this with communities and it was Stupid silly times. I'd hope that this could give inhouses another shot in your community of PA'ers. I still don't think that's enough for me to come back to this game, but Valve is sure making it tempting.

They sure are taking their sweet time putting in the classics, but bullshit cockwarts like Slark, Earth and Fire make it in no problem.

Hmm, 6.8 looks interesting. Not any HUGE changes that I see, just a lot of turning knobs slightly.
e: Oh, you can use Bottle on team mates now by holding control. That's pretty cool.
Bottle change is more than welcome. Branches being an even 50 might be the most exciting thing in that patch for me. Which says more about me finding that extra 3 gold super annoying and less about the quality of the patch.
Also, random ability draft sounds fun as fuuuuck

Should be more, but a good start.

Should be ten gold per second.
You've got plenty of time to pick a hero.

Honestly I would support "you lose all your starting gold if you don't pick a hero by 0:00"

He's all like, "Nice tower you have there. It'd be a shame if something ... happened to it."
He is one of my favorite split pushers. So much fun.
And you can explode people you catch out as well.
I like that about Shadow Shaman too.
Towers can really melt when surrounded by mass serpent wards.

no
The only way to deal with that is to be Necrophos. My god, he is so fun against BB or Huskar.

One point in blood means necro's ult q auto ult lands auto combo won't kill him and he will burn afterwards.
That makes sense. Pipe would do the same thing, then?
For the AM scenario, you're just referring to his passive?
