Tried my CK game again, I was the only person to have a hero picked by the time the timer ran out. It was another minute after the creeps spawned before the other lane showed up so I got a good head start. Their top line then gave up the first two kills and their 3-stack quickly abandoned. I'm going to count this as a win just so I can move on.
Because if you're going to attempt to squeeze that big black monster into your slot you will need to be able to take at least 12 inches or else you're going to have a bad time...
Bottle change is more than welcome. Branches being an even 50 might be the most exciting thing in that patch for me. Which says more about me finding that extra 3 gold super annoying and less about the quality of the patch.
Also, random ability draft sounds fun as fuuuuck
Annoys the crap out of me. Bottle is already stupid enough, no need to buff it even more. Otherwise this patch looks really good. Sorta cool that Drow is getting her own unique silence, though it seems like it will be a pain to deal with in scrub land.
New Agh's on Tinker sounds terrifying. Double cast range for laser, double damage for missiles. Ouch.
I thought it was double the number of missiles? Still rad.
You're right, it is. I must've translated that into double damage in my head, but it doesn't quite come to the same thing. So you can hit double the number of targets, but for the same amount of damage on individual targets? Is that how it would work?

That's my guess, yeah. So it makes him even more of a teamfight monster but doesn't change his 1v1 abilities.
That was in the works for over a year now, actually.
Creating more buzz for Lion, but ultimately - its the same hero.
Lot of lateral moves - here are my highlights:
They listened to me about Witch Doctor!
Morphling will be back
Mid Leshrac might come back
Void's changes are hysterical and indirect buffs to commonly seen items on Void might make him more relevant than he currently is
Beastmaster being able to summon multiple boars is a riot
Alch Nerfs were completely justified.
Ogre's Agh Spell can be cast with 1 Mana technically.
Blink not needing mana is massive.
Depends on the Force Staff reduction, but I could see this having a significant impact - more than likely it won't be enough to make a difference.
4k for a tinker item isn't super hot since you could buy yourself a new active with it. I can see it being significant if you're ahead on Tinker and your team is behind, but that's about it, since it lets you defend sieges exceptionally well. It might also be useful for hilarious abuse during sieges, but that's a bit less safe than hitting most of the enemy team from your T4s every second.
It's probably going to wind up being as irrelevant, in general, as omni or silencer's aghs are, but actually getting mana efficiency on Tinker from Aghs as opposed to some mana and another expensive active in your rotation might not be terrible. The bigger tinker change is probably blink, since that saves you a lot of mana on repositioning shenanigans.
EDIT: If Sniper gets another range buff as he has been in the past few patches, Icefrog will have to buff his night vision again just so he doesn't outrange his LoS.
Honestly I would support "you lose all your starting gold if you don't pick a hero by 0:00"
Seriously it's not hard.
Except you'd watch the number of abandons skyrocket, and since the game is free someone can and will make a new account if they haven't put any money into their main account. This would be compounded in ranked where everyone eats an abandon if one leaves, but the douchebag that will leave at a drop of a hat anyway won't care.
Riki actually saw a bit of successful competitive play, but he doesn't make the greatest hard carry compared to other more popular picks. Alliance had great luck with him for awhile if I recall.
The blink change is weird. It doesn't change the initiation aspect of the item, but in a minor way how it works defensively. Now you can blink out of a bad position, into the jungle, and just keep blinking around, regardless of mana. (though obviously still waiting out CD's) And I'm not keen on any change that makes the dota blink any more like LoL's flash, which significantly reduces the risks of bad positioning, as this change kind of seems to (though not by much obviously)...

A few major differences between Blink and Flash remain, most notably that Flash does not disable when hit, Blink does. Plus Flash as an anti-gank tool is best used early game before you can be locked down, and this is a problem that Blink Dagger sidesteps by costing a little over 2K gold.
At higher levels of play in LoL, Flash is used much more like Blink is used in Dota (as an offensive tool).
Pugna is such fun. Nether Ward is the best skill for making you surprised at your own kill total when you see the post game stats. And Life Drain against stun-less carries who lock in on you as a squishy target for rightclicking is just hilarious, especially for that last two seconds or so when the utter futility of the attempt finally dawns on them and they try to scramble away.
I for one, am thrilled about Tblade coming back. He was my favorite in Dota 1, though he appears to have had his skillset reworked a bit (life drain --> illusion of other heroes). Sunder was/is just the best thing.

I like a lot of the changes made, no real complaints.
Venge got a minor buff yay - she's my fav. As a primary support, i like the ward change too.
What do you guys think about the Earth Spirit changes? Swapping the stun and silence means that you can sort of avoid his combo now. I don't know, I was expecting a bigger nerf, but probably just because of how everyone exaggerates how strong he is.
Limited abilities and heroes, no random abilities, and most importantly, no death match. The fun of omg dota was not to pick the most uberist op heroes and skills to get the best heroes, it was to be randomly assigned an Earthshaker with 4 passives and then go feed to Roshan just to get a new hero, and then you finally get that super awesome Pugna with 3 stuns and everyone on the map is gunning for you because if they kill you then you're going to end up with a Meepo who only has Return and Overload.

i might be misreading you, but...
i don't see why an additional mode is making you upset?
Today even through my shitty internet was a good day for DoTA. Played my first game as Enigma. Landed some great black holes and a few shitty ones. Won the game and I logged in to the best message you can get.

I like them a lot, hitting people with smash is harder than grip so it makes sense that it should have the bigger payoff.
doesn't show Sunder, and the animation for range form either doesn't exist or I'm blind as a bat. The attack animations are silly as hell though.
Pretty sweet model/replica for Phoenix though. I love the animations for it, even though I cried cheese throughout my years playing against that hero.

AoE Finger is...
Sniper probably...Riki no, I don't think so.

I don't think tinkers will get this item, except bad ones.
They are not good heroes vs any team with good coordination. Once they snowball versus a typical pub group they are pretty much unstoppable.

Also does the blink dagger change mean you can use it on LD's bear?

You get the people who love to draft passives, and then you get the guy with all disables on a carry. Good stuff.
